Imagine basking under the sun or stars while relaxing on the second story deck overlooking Beyers Cove with family and friends. The setting sun ignites the Western sky with fire tones and the first of dozens of shooting stars streak across the sky. Seriously!

You will be staying in a beautiful 2 story custom built, 4 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath, home that has given our family many wonderful memories. There is nothing like listening to your favorite music while in front of a crackling stone fireplace, especially if someone has just made a fresh batch of chocolate chip cookies in the fully equipped kitchen. Two large gathering rooms provide great spaces for your family and friends to relax together. In addition, you can choose from our collection of family friendly DVDs for a fun night of movies and popcorn. Or access your Roku account on the smart HD TV.

With the master bedroom suite on the first floor (queen) including its own private bath, parents can have a quiet evening upstairs with the kids in one of the three other downstairs bedrooms (1 full and four queens) sharing a full bath.

As you exit the walk-out lower level toward the water, you'll find the campfire pit, picnic table and dock. Bass and pan fish lurk along the rocks of the 70 foot shoreline while turtles and frogs jump back into the water when they see you coming.

There are a few bicycles in the 2 1/2 car garage, so think about exploring the back country roads. A large Amish community is just a few miles to the south and west of our home. Their bakeries, stores, shops and farms take you back into another time. Or take one or both of the kayaks out for a paddle around the cove.

Every Saturday, Princeton is home to Wisconsin's largest flea market and some of the best antique shopping in the area. Green Lake hosts the County Free Fair in August and boasts excellent dining, entertainment and golf at either Lawsonia, Mascoutin or Tuscumbia country clubs.

For a day of family fun, the Wisconsin Dells are only 40 miles west of us and 40 miles to the east and a little north is Oshkosh home to the Experimental Aviation Association (EAA) and its August, airshow fly-in. You'll also find great outlet malls, cinema theaters in Oshkosh.

We're ideally situated for Fall fun. Local farms are full of pumpkins, apples, and corn stalks. Trees blaze with color and the cool crisp air makes an ideal setting from mid-September thru October.

Winter begins right outside the door, with ice-fishing, snowmobiling and cross country skiing moments away. Downhill skiing at Nordic Mountain is just 30 minutes away.

The home comfortably sleeps 12 guests in beds.

About Wayne or Candy

Candy and I have been married since 1974 and have two grown, married children and five grandchildren. I spent 26 years in business and transitioned to pastoral ministry in 1999. Now I coach men and women in business in faith-based leadership and culture. Candy loves teaching and nurturing, especially our grandchildren. We love being outdoors, reading, writing, biking, hiking and eating with family and friends. We love people and we love Jesus.

Wayne or Candy purchased this house in 1985

Why Wayne or Candy chose Green Lake

Green Lake is beautiful. It is not overcrowded as are some other lakes closer to metropolitan areas. We felt God led us here in the Fall of 1985 and dedicated it to rest and physical, mental and spiritual restoration. In 1995 we were able to build the home you see today on the site of the original hunting cottage.

What makes this house unique

We have prayed for God's shalom to be present with its renewing and refreshing power. Many people have told us how relaxed they have been while vacationing at our home.

WiFi, bikes, Picnic table, campfire pit, games/puzzles/toys. We are located 45 minutes due east of the Wisconsin Dells and about 20 minutes from a large Amish community which highlights (for us) two bakeries, a dry-goods store, two or three woodworkers, florists and produce stands just to name a few. In Oshkosh, 45 minutes to the northeast you will find a huge Outlet mall and the Experimental Aircraft Association. Antique spots are in nearly every little town as are amazing little supper clubs, pubs, grills and fine dining.

Family Time is Valued Time on a Beautiful Lake

  • 5 of 5

We were 2 sisters looking to take the husbands and kids on a summer vacation to relive the lake days of our childhood. We compared our stay in Bull Shoals in cabins to this home and we could say we WON! The home is great. The layout fits 2 families easily. We liked having the kids downstairs at night while the adults were upstairs watching a movie. The kitchen and sun patio also allowed for a cousin table and parent table. The home is clean and nicely maintained. The owners are wondeful with communication. We did swim off the dock in the shallow cove. Additionally, we rented a pontoon from Action Marina. The lake is so beautiful that having time on the lake is a huge bonus. The owners even left wonderful tubes and floats to enjoy a visit. We hope to have a return visit to continue family time next summer.

Wonderful family vacation spot!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I were looking for a new vacation spot that offered good fishing for the men as well as shopping and activities for the ladies and kids. We stumbled across Green Lake as being a top fishing lake in Wisconsin and were happy to find this lovely home listed on VRBO. The Kuna's were a joy to work with and provided a nice list of their recommended grocery stores, restaurants and activities upon booking. The home is comfortable, clean, spacious and sits on a wonderful plot of land with plenty of flat lawn for kids to play without concern. The dock was perfect for tying up our fishing boat and we definitely made use of the kayaks that the homeowners provide. The local towns have cute stores, antiques, ice cream shops, etc. and there are a few public beaches scattered around the lake as well. We even visited the local marina to rent a Stand Up Paddleboard and Beyers Cove proved to be the perfect spot for us as beginners. The water is calm, the bay is quiet and there aren't a lot of witnesses if you happen to lose your balance and fall in :) Everything was wonderful and my family was completely won over by the house and by Green Lake. We are already looking into dates that will work for all of us again next year and we plan on renting from the Kuna's again!

Welcoming, Very Comfortable, Clean

  • 5 of 5

The lake home was very welcoming and comfortable for our extended family of 9 people. The kitchen was well equipped and the Piggly Wiggly, in Princeton, had everything we needed, including vegetarian and gluten free foods. There was no TV, which was great. The yard was large for playing games and the kids caught little pan fish from the dock We enjoyed making fires in the fire pit and eating smores. There was a good selection of movies for the kids and lots of ping pong tournaments, on the table in the rec room. My daughter taught our 8 year old grandson a few songs on the piano. He now has decided he wants to take piano lessons. They now have wifi in the house, which works well, to keep the adults "connected." We rented a pontoon boat from Power Sports that was great for enjoying the lake. Our son-in-law brought his Mastercraft for wakeboarding and tubing. They had an awesome tube, "The Phantom" in the garage that was great fun. The home is in a cove, so it was perfect for keeping our boats safe at the dock. The cove is very weedy and not desirable for swimming. The sand bar in Norwegian Bay or County Park was good for swimming. The park also has a sandy beach for making sandcastles. Candy was very helpful and answered all our questions. The neighbors, Jim and Carol, were very helpful and their blind and deaf dog, Pal, was very sweet. We had a great time and would recommend this property.

Worth going back again and again

  • 5 of 5

We love this place! It is a home away from home but without the everyday life activities and chaos. It's a place of peace and relaxation where our family can reconnect. First, it is clean, comfortable and family friendly with plenty of decent movies, reading material and games (we had a family ping pong tournament-Mom won). The kitchen is spacious and open to the living room so everyone is always within conversation range. And the fireplace is so nice on chilly nights. The second thing we enjoyed about this place is being on the lake so we can go down to the dock and fish or take our boat across the lake to get some ice cream in Green Lake or do some tubing. Also, we loved taking little road trips especially to the Farmer's Market in Princeton on Sat. morning or a drive around the lake, or to our favorite restaurants, Little Corporal and The Kingston House. Finally, the owners are so friendly and gracious. We are very thankful to have had a wonderful time here and look forward to going back.

I would highly recommend this vacation home to a friend or relative.

Wonderful Lake Home for a Family Gathering

  • 5 of 5

Enjoyed 3 nights at this Lake Home for my family reunion. Ages ranged from a 7 month old to Grandpa and Grandma in their 60's! With family coming from Colorado, Ohio and Wisconsin. There was something for everyone. We brought our own Volleyball court - the owners were very accommodating and let us set up the net in the front of the house (near the lake)...we also set up a corn hole game - so there is plenty of room for games in the front yard overlooking the lake. The description of the property and pictures are accurate. Very comfortable and accommodating! Evenings were spent playing cards in the screened-in porch or playing ping-pong in the lower level. We brought our own boat - launching the boat was easy - and not too far from their pier. The kids (and adults) enjoyed tubing on the huge lake - and then swimming at their public swimming area - which is on the other side of the lake from Lake Home. The Lake is huge and deep - we needed a few more days to explore the entire lake and everything it has to offer. The home is very comfortable, clean, nicely decorated - you can tell that the owners take very good care of their place. A neighbor welcomed us when we arrive and allowed us park our boat trailer on his lot. Owners were very helpful in answering our questions and concerns. I would recommend this property to a friend or relative. My family had a great time - I'm sure yours will too!

A relaxing week on Green Lake

  • 4 of 5

We spent a very relaxing week on Green Lake with our two adult children, daughter-in-law and granddaughter in this large, spacious home. The owner, Candy, was extremely responsive to my many emails prior to our vacation. Their home is situated steps from the water in Beyers Cove--a quiet, peaceful area of the lake. The boat dock is just minutes away. The screened-in porch was an added benefit, especially this time of year when the mosquitos are out and biting. We spent most of our time on the water fishing, swimming, tubing. We also made use of the kayaks that are provided. We spent a good deal of time out walking, just enjoying the scenery. The home is very close to Princeton so shopping is convenient. We made many runs to Piggly Wiggly for additional groceries and also spent a few hours visiting the antique shops. Cable is not provided so bring DVD's with you. Wi-fi is also unavailable so no working while you are there! All in all we tremendously enjoyed our stay. Thanks Candy for a great vacation!
