About this property

Summary:
Welcome to our little serenity in the woods. Veaux pines is an A-frame cabin sitting along the mystical Devereaux Lake. Whether if you are looking for place to get away and disconnect or travel for an adventure, we accommodate both. Newly renovated we’ve kept in mind the feeling of a true stay-cation by offering multiple amenities such as kayaks, paddleboards, hot tub, and more. New for 2024 a pergola covering the hot tub.
The Space:
Bring your snowmobile! Bring your fishing gear! Bring your boat! Bring the kids, the family, friends, and even the dog, to enjoy this water’s edge paradise with its huge decks, private, sandy beach (with 2 kayaks & 2 paddleboards) as well as a hot tub, a fire pit and so much more! Veaux Pines is ideal for couples, small families, groups of friends, weekenders, fishing/boating enthusiasts, and outdoor adventure lovers.
The polished wood interior glows with a rich, warm patina; a welcoming combination of woodsy rustic, sleek luxury & classic, Northern lake life elegance. The freshly and fully renovated cabin has a gas fireplace, perfect for those chilly nights. Large windows and sliding glass doors bring the beauty of the lake and forest right into the home.
Breathe the fresh air; the land is fragrant with Frasier fir, spruce and birch. The cabin, set on over 3 secluded acres, is just 2 miles from Mullet Lake Boat Ramp, less than 20 minutes from downtown Indian River and Cheboygan, 35 mins from Mackinaw Bridge/Mackinaw City, and 45 mins from Petoskey, Harbor Springs, and Gaylord, MI. This home is one-of-a-kind! The tranquil, natural setting will nourish your soul. Scenic views are the focus from every perspective.
Living:
This 1,100 sq ft feng shui cabin feels spacious and grand! Space is maximized. Massive decks offer the best of easy, breezy indoor/outdoor living in warmer months. In cooler seasons, cozy up in the living room around the gas fireplace. Play board games, share stories, or simply catch up with friends and loved ones while basking in the warmth of flames. Relax on the large, caramel-hued, mid-century leather sofa, or sink into the swank, black leather armchair. Read the latest bestseller, or stream your favorite shows or movies on the living room SmartTV. The living room also has Bluetooth Speakers and two mini splits.
Beautiful, rich pinewood paneling, hardwood floors, thick exposed beams, and finely crafted wood furniture all enhance the ambiance of this tranquil cabin.
The wood element is balanced with rich earth tones of lake blue, forest green, sunset orange, and brown. Relax here to re-center after a day of hiking or water activities.
Kitchen & Dining:
The fully equipped chef’s kitchen is the perfect combination of sleek urban/industrial style, boho comfort, and rustic, northern lake life charm. The open-concept space ensures that the chef is never isolated from the social scene. The granite breakfast bar, with stool seating for three, is a relaxing spot to sip your morning coffee or tea. Sit here to share a cocktail with the chef as dinner is prepared.
This stylish kitchen features sage-green wood cabinets and elegant white laminate countertops with veins of gold, gray and brown that evoke the fluid movement of wind and water. Luxury stainless steel appliances include an electric range, convection oven, microwave, dishwasher, full-size fridge, and oversize farmhouse-style sink.
The fully equipped kitchen is stocked with silverware, serving utensils, quality cookware, bakeware, dishware, etc. Kitchen counters display a kettle, French press, toaster, blender, knife block, spice rack, etc.
Just beyond the breakfast bar is a gorgeous, handcrafted hardwood pedestal-style round dining table with seating for four. Gather here to savor tranquil family-style meals with exquisite sunset views of Lake Devereaux. THIS is the good life!

Bedrooms & Baths:

Upper Floor: King Primary
Upper Floor: Two Twin Beds
Main Floor: Bathroom with Shower
Main floor: Laundry
Both bedrooms are located upstairs on the second floor. There is one bathroom on the main floor, on the left, as soon as you enter the cabin. The primary King suite has a SmartTV, a ceiling fan, and sliding glass doors overlooking the lake that open out to a covered balcony.
Bedroom #2 has two twin beds and a window with forest views. Both the primary and guest bedroom have nightstands with reading lamps and USB ports for charging.
The bathroom has finely crafted hardwood cabinetry, and a white quartz vanity with natural, fluid vein patterns of gold, gray and brown. This extra-large vanity has a river stone vessel sink. Patterns of the sink and bathroom tile evoke memories of tides, lake-tumbled stones, fossilized corals, or pale oyster shells native to this region.
This sophisticated bathroom has a luxurious, walk-in, glass-door shower. Custom tile work echoes natural geometric patterns of the land and water.
This simple yet elegant bathroom is stocked with soft, plush towels, washcloths, hand cloths, and face towels, as well as organic toiletries, a hairdryer, and even a heated towel rack.
On the main (ground) floor, there’s a state-of-the-art stackable washer and dryer (because the laundry never sleeps, even when you're on vacation.) There’s also an iron and ironing board.

May 2025

We had a fantastic stay. The host was very responsive to any emails sent. The host had the home prepared and so well cleaned/decorated. They left a wonderful guest basket, along with a binder of recommendations for local things to do. The home was easy to find and keypad was easy to use.

More Than We Could Have Asked For

My husband, beagle, and I had the best winter getaway at Veaux Pines. Chalet was so adorable and extremely clean. From the fireplace, coffee bar, snacks, hot tub, privacy, location, everything was absolutely perfect. I will be the first to admit that I rarely write reviews after a stay, but felt it necessary to thank Katy for allowing us to have the perfect trip. Thank you as well for being dog friendly :)
