We completely enjoyed our visit! A great property and no problems!!
A quiet, pastoral getaway
The house is lovely. There are two large living rooms for gathering and visiting, and the bedrooms are all spacious and well appointed. Three of the five bedrooms have adjoining baths, and one bath is shared between two rooms. The baths are modern and comfortable. The kitchen is amazing; it's large, well appointed, well lit, and equipped well enough to prepare vacation style meals.
The back deck is quite large and furnished, for the most part, comfortably. During our stay we enjoyed watching birds, squirrels, chipmunks, goats and deer; it was very relaxing. There's plenty of room for walking and exploring, and everything we wanted to do was literally ten minutes away.
Why four stars rather than five? There were a few minor takeaways. We occupied the only downstairs bedroom, and the noise when someone was moving in the room above was exceedingly noisy. The deck has several rotten spots and weak boards that I thought were serious enough to pose a genuine hazard. We placed tables over these places to avoid walking on them. Two of the non-rocking chairs had rubber tips missing from one leg, causing them to wobble badly. And it takes a day or two to figure out the light switches, because none of them are where you'd expect them to be.
Suggestions: Keep a few games and decks of cards on the ample shelves. Cleaning crews might double check the kitchen; we found items seriously mixed up based on the labels on cabinets and drawers, and we found several items put away with food residue on them.
Overall, I would stay in this house again and would recommend it to others. Thank you Vio for opening your home at very reasonable cost; I believe my party treated it with respect.
I loved the view and the beautiful land. My family really enjoyed the large kitchen. I wish that the house was cleaner and smelled fresher. The sofa couches needs to be vacuum because of all the debris and dog hair from previous guest. The hallway bathroom and the bathroom in the basement were not clean mold was in the shower. The contractor that is responsible for the cleaning isn't detailed.
We had a lovely, relaxing stay here among the fields and trees. We had 9 people in our family get-together and found the living room and dining room very comfortable places to socialize and chat.
The house was clean and convenient to the venue. We didn’t encounter any problems.
I have no negative comments. Our stay was excellent. I would recommend cable or satellite tv in the house, but it wasn’t a problem.
Accommodating of a large group and perfect stay!
The little river house and Fryars house were perfect locations for our sisterhood retreat of 30 people! The locations were super close to one another and the views were amazing! Prefect place for a large group to spend a weekend.

Fryar's Green is in an ideal location for vacationers. Just a ten minute drive from all that downtown has to offer, you and your guests may enjoy a fully outfitted, spacious guesthouse on a 100 acre farm that stretches 1/2 mile on the Tennessee River. Lookout Mountain attractions (Ruby Falls, Rock City, the Incline, etc. are just around the bend. The Chattanooga Nature Center, Raccoon Mountain Caverns and the nature area atop Raccoon Mountain, with hiking and biking trails and amazing views of the City, are all just a short drive away as well. And of course, with only a ten minute drive to downtown, guests may enjoy unique shopping and dining and world-class attractions.
Still, with 100 rolling acres at the mouth of the Tennessee River Gorge, you don't need to leave the Fryar's Green to make memories that will last a lifetime.
