About this property

Goosetown Getaway with Barrel Sauna

Welcome to Sapphire Adventure Cottage, in the heart of Anaconda, MT - located halfway between Glacier National Park & Yellowstone National Park. Here you'll be greeted by the town deer and enjoy easy access to all that MT has to offer!

*Sauna* *Fire Pit* Close to Disco Mountain, Georgetown Lake, Old Works Golf Course, the Anaconda-Pintler Wilderness and many other hiking, skiing, fishing & adventures.

Welcome to Goosetown, Anaconda’s oldest neighborhood dating back to the late 1800s. This classic craftsman home was built in 1900 - and lovingly remodeled in 2023 from crawlspace to roof! (including plumbing & electric!)

Central Air Conditioning! (many homes in Montana do NOT have A/C)

The great room offers comfortable seating, with an electric fireplace & large flat screen TV.

The kitchen has everything you need for your stay. It is fully stocked with dishes, silverware, cups etc. There is a full pot & pan set, as well as all cooking utensils, serving platters and even a roasting pan for your holiday turkey. Celebrating something special? There are baking pans as well as cupcake pans & cookie sheets available. Spending the day outside? Start your chili in the crockpot so it's toasty when you return. And of course, there is a 12 cup drip coffee pot and a tea kettle to start your morning out with a warm cup o' joe/tea.

The main floor full bathroom has a large tub to soak your sore muscles after a day adventuring.

The main floor bedroom has a queen bed with a loft bunk above.

Upstairs, you'll find a converted attic bedroom with stunning views of both the "C" and the "A" hills. In true Craftsman style, the bedroom has sloping ceilings. The king-sized bed is comfy, and waking up to views of the mountains is fantastic! The 3/4 bath includes a shower with sloped ceiling -if you are taller, best to use the downstairs shower.

Out back, you can start your evening with a great dinner on the grill, and epic adventure stories and s'more around the fire pit. Finish the night with the ultimate in relaxation -- unwind in our brand new barrel sauna! The yard is fully fenced for your kids & pup to roam while you enjoy a summer evening.

Please contact us if you need any assistance during your stay.

Anaconda is a quaint Montana town, and the Sapphire Adventure Cottage is located right downtown - walking distance to Jordi's TexMex Cantina and just a short bike ride or drive over to the brewery, shops & more. While we love the charm of downtown, please note that there are wonderful full-time residents on either side of our property. Please be respectful of quiet times, and be a Good Neighbor. We also have town deer that frequent the property - be aware of where you step :) Please do not feed the wildlife. Yes, they can jump the back fence.

There is street parking in front of the home (max 2 cars) as well as parking in the alley behind (park in the gravel by the rear fence).

There are several eateries within a short walking distance, and many more within a short bike or car ride.

This home has sloped ceilings upstairs. Be aware if you are tall!

We had a lovely stay at the Switchback Adventure Cottage, it was a clean and comfortable home base for our winter vacation. The kitchen was well supplied and allowed us to cook dinner each night and try out new recipes. Our dogs were extremely comfortable and we loved the sauna!

We came to Anaconda to attend a family wedding. This was a fantastic rental close to downtown which made for an easy and safe weekend. House was very clean and well cared for. The sauna provided a relaxing break from the chilly October temps. Communication and instruction with owners was timely, simple, and well thought out. It is in a residential area so if you are looking for more of a party vibe, probably not a good fit. But if you are a family or couple looking for a relaxed, quality getaway, I highly recommend.

Cozy Retreat

We are from Anaconda. Our stay was centered around Art in the Park. This home was very cozy, we stayed for almost a week. The house is on the east side of town and a long walk to downtown area. I would drive for groceries and to restaurants. The house was clean and well equiped.

Very Nice Place, Great Location

My family and I stayed here a couple of days for a family wedding near Anaconda. Communication with the hosts before and after the stay were outstanding, and we were immediately impressed by how clean and tidy the property was when we arrived. The location is very convenient, with a couple of good places to eat within easy walking distance (shout out to Jordi's Cantina -- the best Tex-Mex breakfast I've had in MT, and only a couple of blocks away). While it was a bit too warm to take advantage of the sauna, we did enjoy relaxing and playing tic-tac-toe in the back yard in our moments of down time. All told, a great experience. Thank you!

Great stay — the sauna is a game changer!

We had a lovely 2-night stay here with 4 adults and our infant. We were commuting back-and-forth to Sugar Loaf Lodge for wedding festivities, and it was super nice to have our own comfortable space for the weekend. We're from Montana, so we knew the deal with Anaconda, but the short version is that the neighborhood is a mix of very rundown houses with recently renovated homes. This rental was obviously one of the very nice renovations, and we didn't feel unsafe, by any means — just an FYI for anyone who doesn't already know the area. The sauna was AMAZING, the kitchen was well-stocked, and the beds and furniture were very comfortable. Finally, the hosts were quick and wonderful to communicate with — thanks, Michelle and Bob!

What makes this property unique

This 1900 bungalow has been *completely* remodeled! From electrical to plumbing and everything in between, this home has been upgraded to safer, modern times while retaining that front porch charm. The home sits on a double lot, allowing for more privacy than a traditional Goosetown home. There is a fully fenced back yard for Fido.
