About Susan Bundy

Jerry and I have been coming to the North Georgia Mountains and Helen for over 40 years. We live in Roswell, GA (770) 842-2138 / and custom built Bear Crossing as our 'home away from home'. What excites us most when we are there is the privacy, great location to Unicoi State Park, Helen, Dahlonga, Hiking Trails and all the other North Georgia attractions.

We built our Second Home in 2002 adding special features to make visits more enjoyable.

Susan Bundy purchased this cabin in 2002

Best Vacation!

  • 5 of 5

My husband, myself, our 2 adult children and little dog loved staying in this house. It is very clean and spacious and had everything we needed. The gas grille was clean and fully operational, as was the hot tub, which was our favorite thing to do after a long day of hiking, paddle boarding and zip lining. The location is nestled in the woods and very quiet, but still very close to town and lots of activities. We will be returning!

Inviting, Relaxing and Awesome

  • 5 of 5

I want to start by saying thank you to Mr. and Mrs. Bundy for sharing your cabin with us and answering any questions we had before and during our stay. We really enjoyed staying in Bear Crossing. The cabin was very inviting, clean and it had everything we could possibly need/want. The cabin is also beautifully decorated with the right amount of décor. Bear Crossing is close to the city of Helen, hiking, zip lining, many of the water falls in the area and much, much more. We loved the beds, the open floor plan and LOVED the back deck. It was so peaceful and we really liked hearing the birds sing while we drank our coffee in the mornings. We also enjoyed how private the cabin was. I would most certainly stay here again when back in Helen. I've stayed in other cabins but I believe this one, by far, is my favorite and I would recommend it to any and every one.

What a beautiful cabin

  • 5 of 5

My family and I had such an amazing time. The cabin was absolutely beautiful. It had everything we needed to enjoy our 6 nights. The beds were amazing. So amazing I just got home and ordered one. We loved laying in the hammock or swinging on the porch and listening to the birds sing. The gardenias were in full bloom and gave us a heavenly smell. The cabin is close to Helen and so many waterfalls. We spent the days hiking, tubing with Helen tubing, horseback riding with Chatahoochee Stables, walking in downtown Helen, and more hiking. Even our little Shih Tzu enjoyed going on a few trails.

Susan is such an amazing person. I highly recommend this cabin.

A Much Needed Break

  • 5 of 5

My story is quite different from others posted enjoying a wonderful vacation spot. I called Susan & Jerry after the tragic death of my father. I needed a place to heal & relax. It sounded like the perfect place. My husband & I booked 5 nights with our 2 dear friends coming up for 3 nights of our stay. This mountain retreat was exactly what I needed. It was secluded & quiet yet so convenient to an awesome German hot pastrami & cheese sandwich in Helen overlooking the rafters floating down the river. I found great solitude rocking on the front porch soaking up the beautiful mountain air & dining with our friends on deck area overlooking the lighted hot tub gazebo. We grilled out on both the gas & charcoal grills & enjoyed cooking our full southern breakfast in the wonderful kitchen. Everything we needed was at our finger tips. We watched late night movies on the flat screen in the living room with our fresh popped popcorn. My husband & I are Georgia natives & have enjoyed Helen, Dahlonega, Unicoi & Lake Burton most of our lives but this visit I needed more, much more & this mountain retreat gave me everything I needed. I encourage those in need of a relaxing time of reading for hours in a hammock listening to the birds sing, long walks, or the excitement of a bear visit to visit Bear Crossing. The owners were incrediably accommodating & responsive to every need. We will return for years to come! Thanks to Jerry & Susan for lifting & rejuvenating my spirits in your beautiful retreat.
