Why Nancy chose Grand Cayman

My husband and I are avid divers and have traveled to many of the Caribbean islands. We grew very fond of Grand Cayman as it has some of the best diving in the world and the area is clean, safe and the water and beaches are pristine. We were particularly drawn to the East End of Grand Cayman as it is considerably quieter than the West side and has far less traffic. When we purchased our condominium in 2004, we thought we would still travel to other islands. But we have found that the East End of Grand Cayman affords us the best combination of peacefulness, activity and friendly people so this is where we come every chance we get.

What makes this condo unique

When you sit in the living room or on the lanai, there are no sounds of traffic, rarely do you even hear people...and the unobstructed view of the vast ocean and beach...there's nothing like it for settling the spirit and mind.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Hi Nancy,

We had a wonderful time. The weather was beautiful. We have had a really snowy Spring here in South Dakota (we just got 4" of snow today) so it was wonderful to be in all that warmth and sun. Our friends really enjoyed it! The condo worked perfectly again!

The morning we left it was the calmest I have ever seen it on the East side so we were able to get a nice long snorkel in before we left. It was a great way to end the trip! Thanks again for letting use your condo, I will let you know when we will be returning.

The only thing that we were disappointed in was nothing to do with the condo itself, but they only had one grill for the entire resort. We weren't sure where they all went. I know last year they weren't in that great of shape, but I hope they will replace all of them. Grilling on the beach is one of our favorite things to do when we are down there. Other than that it was wonderful.

Owner Response:

Thank you for your email. I appreciate being made aware of the lack of grills. Just so you know, 3 new ones have recently been purchased and are now on site.

Great value!

  • 4 of 5

Very relaxing and quiet at our end of the beach. The only negatives are the beach is VERY rocky and difficult to get in and out (we knew it was going to be rocky but not to the extent it was), surf is fairly strong, and not much shade. They could use some umbrellas/other shade devices. We prefer this end of the island as opposed to Seven Mile Beach.

Wonderfull family vacation ,perfect location. Excellent accommodation

  • 5 of 5

This was our 3rd time staying at Castaway cove (Reef Resort) and once again we had a great time. Our guests ages ranged from 13yrs - 80 yrs and every body enjoyed being steps away from the ocean and its warm waters. The East End is less crowed than 7 mile beach and you get a lovely breeze to keep you cool. There is some good snorkeling just off the beach under the pier of the hotel and the neighboring hotel. Start there and then the current pushes you down the beach. We have used both Scuba diving companies and both are very good (Compass Diving and Tortuga Diving). The owner Nancy is super easy to contact and very efficient. The accommodation is wonderful everything you need and more.

As advertised, a beautiful and conveniently located unit. Everything we hoped for and more!

  • 5 of 5

this property truly exceeded our expectations--everything we hoped for and more! Clean, up-dated unit, nicely furnished, comfortable beds, great views, close to everything we needed and wanted. The East End is really the place to stay on the island, and we would stay there again in a heartbeat! And, Nancy was very pleasant, accommodating, and easy to work with.

Simply Amazing as always ! 💗

  • 5 of 5

This year we went for 15 days !! Took the kids with us for 10 of the days. We rented both suites out. Worked perfectly. (Kids are 23). Lol.

This was their first time to the Cayman Islands.. thought this might be to quiet for our son and his Girlfriend.. well complete opposite!! They LOVED. The fact that they were ocean front and steps away from the ocean. They went out to different places on their own, being the island super safe. They enjoyed coming back to the peaceful serene condo.

Think next year have to bring our other son and his girlfriend !!! They had other plans so couldn't make it this time.

We decided to bring our (3) inflatable paddle boards and 1 kayak (for my husband). Best thing we did !!! Only extra luggage, it was so worth the 35.00 for extra luggage from Canada and then we could use anytime and take with us as we went to other areas of the islands with them. Super easier than renting ...

I cannot say enough about our trips to this Condo ! Very friendly staff and people. This is serenity sitting on the balcony with my cup of Tims coffee (bring grounds with us) watching the sun come up. I enjoyed this time .. everyone else sleeping. My serenity moments. And in the evenings as you listen to the waves. So relaxing and soothing. Got to spend more time (days) with my "cats" at the reef and across the street .. feeding and visiting every day !!

Love The Cayman Islands... Thank you Nancy and Frank !!! Amazing couple !!! Thd Best !!

Wonderful place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time in this unit. We rented both units and having the option to separate the rooms really added to the appeal. The view is absolutely beautiful, we had coffee on the balcony every morning. The wind was sometimes annoying but it made for great entertainment when the kite surfers went out daily. The condo was just a s described, very clean and it included everything you could possibly need. The concierge we met with on day 1 was wonderful and she was there throughout the trip for anything we needed. There was actually a problem with the main tv/cable which didn't really bother us because who needs to watch tv when you have a balcony to try and spot dolphins from (haha) but we let her know and she took care of everything. it was fixed within 24 hours!

The only disappointment, and this has nothing to do with the actual condo or owner, was that the garbage pickup is VERY loud and if you're staying in the master bedroom it can wake you up. Between that and the roosters there were some frustrating nights haha. And make sure you understand just how far the normal touristy things are. We traveled with a few people who had never been to Grand Cayman before so we needed to drive to 7 mile beach, the turtle farm, Rum Point, etc... and it's FAR, especially during rush hour or late at night when you're tired. Other than that it was a very nice side of the island. If you're a scuba diver it's perfect! Ocean Frontiers diving is right down the street and they're great! A little expensive but extremely accommodating and great dive guides! Plus east end diving is MUCH better than west end diving so if you're ok with a slightly stronger current I'd 100% recommend the East End to all divers. All in all it was a great trip and we would absolutely stay here again! Thanks :)
