Cottage de charme dans la belle Howth, Ă  20 minutes du centre-ville de Dublin

Notre charmante maison de 2 chambres de 125 ans, lumineuse, accueillante et magnifiquement rénovée, se trouve au-dessus du village de Howth, surplombant le port de Howth et Ireland's Eye, l'ßle emblématique à l'extérieur du port, à seulement 15 km du centre-ville de Dublin.

Howth est le joyau pittoresque et rĂ©crĂ©atif de la rĂ©gion de Dublin, assis dans une pĂ©ninsule vallonnĂ©e du cĂŽtĂ© nord de la baie de Dublin avec une vue imprenable sur la baie au sud et la cĂŽte au nord. Le port, avec ses deux jetĂ©es populaires, comprend un port de pĂȘche en activitĂ© ainsi qu'une grande marina, et est un lieu de navigation important. La pĂ©ninsule possĂšde un large Ă©ventail de magnifiques sentiers de randonnĂ©e pittoresques sur les collines et autour des falaises, et est populaire auprĂšs des ornithologues amateurs.

Nous croyons que notre maison a Ă©tĂ© construite en 1895 ou avant, mais elle a Ă©tĂ© agrandie et entiĂšrement rĂ©novĂ©e et comprend toutes les commoditĂ©s modernes. Il est lumineux et frais, avec 2 chambres pouvant accueillir confortablement 4 personnes, une salle de bain complĂšte, un salon et une cuisine / salle Ă  manger lumineuse entiĂšrement Ă©quipĂ©e donnant sur le jardin. La surface totale au sol est d'environ 1 000 pieds carrĂ©s. Le jardin comprend une terrasse / patio et offre une vue sur le port de Howth et l'Ireland’s Eye. L'avant de la maison dispose de 2 places de parking.

La maison est Ă  300 mĂštres du village de Howth, y compris les magasins, l'Ă©glise et le service de bus pour le centre de Dublin; 0. 4 milles de Howth Harbour; 0. 7 miles (12 minutes Ă  pied) de la gare ferroviaire de transport en commun rapide DART desservant le centre de Dublin et les quartiers sud de la ville; et 8. 9 miles du centre-ville de Dublin.

Howth possĂšde 2 beaux parcours de golf, de nombreux excellents restaurants et le chĂąteau de Howth du XVe siĂšcle qui comprend ses cĂ©lĂšbres jardins de rhododendrons sauvages, ouverts au public en Ă©tĂ©, et le National Transport Museum of Ireland. Comme on peut s'y attendre dans un port de pĂȘche, de nombreux restaurants sont particuliĂšrement rĂ©putĂ©s pour leurs fruits de mer fins. My husband and I traveled to Dublin and we were lucky to find this gem of a place to stay at not too far from city center. Everything was clean and tidy. Our hosts were great communicators, the property manager was always available and prompt to respond to questions. Bed was comfortable, shower pressure excellent. Whole place was comfy and cozy! Town of Howth is a short walk from cottage. There are so many friendly people, and the cottage is an a historic location. Make sure to review the handbook that is provided - lots of helpful information. We highly recommend this cottage and would love to come back again!

It was a lovely , clean and comfortable home. Laundry was a bit of an issue . Maybe the handbook could be left on the premises for easy access. I would recommend this stay and I would stay again.

Wonderful site for exploring Howth. It is just far enough away from the busy tourist zone to avoid the noise while still being walking distance to pubs, restaurants and hiking trails. Amenities (groceries, etc) are all nearby.

This cottage is adorable and so quaint and perfect. It is exactly as you would think for such a sweet little town. The garden has a lovely sitting area with a spectacular view. There is a wooden fence around it as well. The street is so nice with lots of cute houses, pubs and even more views. I could literally go on and on! I've added some pictures I took while walking.

We had a wonderful time in Howth. This is a great apartment situated in a great location. Getting to the apartment was easy and the check in straight forward. The host was very helpful and provided good information for the stay.Howth is a wonderful town, lots to see and enjoy, some great fish restaurants on the harbour side. Transport into Dublin is quick, reliable and cheap. Would definitely stay there again.

We stayed in this lovely cottage for 8 nights in August and couldn’t have been happier. The owners were excellent with communication both before booking and during our stay. Before arrival, we received a digital home handbook that explained how everything worked and included useful local tips - so helpful after a long flight with a tired family. The cottage was perfect: comfy beds, fresh linens and towels, a fully stocked kitchen, and a bright, relaxing living space thanks to the remodel with high ceilings and skylights. We especially enjoyed the small garden, the perfect spot for morning coffee with views of Ireland’s Eye and the bustle of the village just steps away. The location couldn’t be better, with pubs, restaurants, public transport, and scenic hiking trails all within walking distance (outlined in the handbook). On our first day, we had a minor issue, but Orla, the property manager, came straight over and resolved it quickly. Peter, one of the owners, also followed up to ensure all was well, and Orla continued to check in throughout our stay, which made us feel very well looked after. Overall, a fantastic home in a perfect location. We look forward to staying again on our next family visit!

We stayed at this lovely property for 4 days. It's a beautiful community. The train station is about a 15 minute walk. It's downhill to the station but uphill on the way back. One of the bus stops is just a couple of blocks away but we never used it. Taxis come from Dublin and were readily available with a quick call. Our hosts provided us with a lot of information. The cliff walks were amazing. There's plenty of markets, pubs, and restaurants within walking distance. Would definitely stay here again!!!

We absolutely loved our stay here! The owners were very quick and helpful with communication and the home is very comfortable and full of charm. We loved the location and being able to walk easily to the main area of Howth. The best night of our trip was listening to live music down the street at McNeill's and chatting with a local family. We had a great visit and would love to return someday.

Lovely cottage in a great village

All great with the cottage, well appointed.lovely area, great for walks. Saw seals in the harbour.All my communication issues were due to me misspelling my email address initially on my booking. What was disappointing was that VRBO didn’t manage to correct this on all lines of communication even after many phone calls, I didn’t receive checking in information, which was rather stressful. But that was no fault of the cottage owner or caretaker who were helpful and lovely when I finally managed to contact them. So, please make sure all your contact details are correct at the time of booking. It was also an ideal location for the concert at Malahide Castle we Attended.

Wonderful experience in Howth

My husband and I spent a month in this Howth cottage. We loved living like locals. The cottage is perfectly located; we didn’t have a car and walked everywhere. Orla, the property manager, tended to the few small problems promptly and was kind and welcoming. The house was comfortable, bright and cheerful. This was a wonderful experience!!

Home away from home

A group of 4 of us embarked on a journey across Ireland. We couldn’t have picked a better location or host to house us than this. The location of the house is just far enough away to feel the serene peace, but close enough to easily get to the city Centre of Dublin. The house accommodated the 4 of us comfortably and felt like our own little home away from home. I would recommend this rental to anyone looking for the true Irish feel of living.

Irish charm and hospitality.

Howth is a great place to stay when visiting Dublin. Transport links are excellent. The property was sparkling clean, comfortable and warm. We left a message for the property manager but our call was never returned hence the 1 star for that aspect.

Lovely Place

We loved Howth. The house is in a great location to walk the area and feel like a local. Grocery store, restaurants, pubs, trails, and more just steps away. We had blue sky days and some rain but it was a lovely house in a lovely neighborhood. We didn't go into Dublin, but would recommend Howth as a base for touring the area.

Always a pleasure.

This is the third time we have stayed at this beautiful property. It has become like a second home for us. As always, the house and it amenities were excellent and we will keep coming back. My only wish is for a parking space for a full sized car, to be created.

Italy meets Ireland

Our daughter is studying in Florence, Italy this semester so we met her in Ireland! Our trip exceeded expectations! The only thing we couldn’t find was a hairdryer which I thought I read somewhere was included. No worries, we just went natural for a few days!

We are Peter and Jane Ahern. We both grew up and were educated in Ireland. We met when we both worked for the Irish government’s Industrial Development Authority (IDA Ireland), and got married in Dublin. Soon after that, we moved to Cleveland, Ohio, where we have lived for many winters! Our two children live and work in the Cleveland area but, from numerous visits though their lifetimes, they both know every inch of the Howth peninsula!

Voici pourquoi l’hĂŽte a choisi cet hĂ©bergement

Jane grew up on the Howth peninsula and her mother and brothers still live there. Over our years in the US we have spent many wonderful vacations there with family and friends, enjoying the spectacular scenery and great social life. It was our dream to find a house in Howth, and when we learned that this wonderful house was for sale in 2003, Peter made a quick trip to Ireland and, after a few quick phone calls with Jane back in Cleveland, immediately bought it. It was perfect!

Our Irish home is full of character, over 120 years old but with every modern amenity, in a quiet street, but still within a short walk of all of the attractions of Howth Village and Howth Harbour with their restaurants, pubs, Yacht Club, shops, pier walks and marina.
