We live in Florida, this is our Dublin home. We visit it every year. It is a superb, impossible to beat, quiet location for walking to every major attraction in central Dublin. The flat building is located on the river Liffey a half block from the O'Connell Bridge. We overlook the well maintained inner courtyard of the flat building and the Dublin rooftops. Because it overlooks the inner courtyard the flat does not pickup street noise and, coupled with its location within the building (it is a penthouse), this maybe the quietest flat in Central Dublin.

In 2011 we completely renovated the flat, which was built in 1994. It is, effectively, new as of 2012. It has 2 good size bedrooms. The master bedroom has an extremely comfortable USA king size bed with ample wardrobe and drawer space. The master bathroom has a spacious pumped shower. The second bedroom has two large very comfortable single beds and ample wardrobe space. The beds can be joined, with a 'topper', to form a second USA king size bed. The second bathroom has a bathtub/electric shower combination. The large living room has a 42” LED flat screen TV, a large comfortable sofa and an additional chair. There is a work desk for laptop use. The dining area, with its leather chairs, easily accommodates 5 people. The kitchen is small but fully equiped to serve 6 people. It has induction, very fast heating, burners, a self clean oven and a powerful extraction fan. There is a large frost free refrigerator and a Bosch dishwasher. The kitchen also contains a Miele washer and a Meile dryer.

There is free, fast cable internet service (connection via both cable and wi fi to your laptop). Cable TV delivers about 80 channels, many of which are international. The phone sevice offers free calling to landlines in many overseas countries and in Ireland.

The 'fifth' person is accommodated via a raised blowup bed in the living room.

The flat is located on the top, fourth, floor (fifth by North American definition) of the building. There is a lift, access to which is by key only. There is an intercom service from the flat to the front door allowing for remote door opening.

The Luas (tram) service is a one block walk and within the same distance there are numerous restaurants offering a variety of cuisines. Within a 10 minute walk are Trinty College (home of the book of Kells), Grafton Street (shopping), Temple Bar (pubs) and the GPO (scene of the 1916 uprising). A 15 minute walk will get you to the Garden of Rembrance, St Stephens Green, Dublin Castle, St Patricks Cathedral and Christchurch Cathedral. The river Liffey with its boat cruises is at your front door.

Within the flat building (on the ground floor) are numerous shops, including a hair salon, a supermarket and several eating places. Within a block there are large Tesco and Marks and Spencers supermarkets and the Jervis centre shopping mall.

If you plan on renting a car to see the countryside (you do NOT want one in Dublin), please ask us for our recommendations. We do have parking in our building.

Additionally, the extra charge for the 5th person is at 20 Euro per night from this website. We have a flat charge of 65 Euro for the 5th person, independent of the visit length.

About The Owner

We travel a lot and have found having our 'own place' to stay in is really nice. In addition to our base in Florida, we have homes in London and Sydney. Adding Dublin to the list, with an Irish wife, was a no brainer.

The Owner purchased this apartment in 2011

Why The Owner chose Dublin

We wanted a place in downtown Dublin where we can walk to everything. The flat location is ideal (check it out on the map). The flat itself is in a great location within the building. We decided to spend 3+ months of our lives converting the flat into a 2 bed 2 bath unit and completely refurbishing the place. Only the doors, windows and walls remain from its prior existence.

With an Irish wife, she now has a place back in her own country and this allows her to visit with her relatives and friends.

What makes this apartment unique

In a word, Dublin. It is a compact city and almost everything we need to do, to buy and to see is within a 15 minute walk.

Best Apartment in Dublin

I've lost track of how many times I've stayed at this apartment in Dublin. I come back every year because of the location, the amenities, the cleanliness, the quiet nights of sleep and the ease in dealing with the owner, David. Compared to a hotel stay, the cost of renting this flat is more than reasonable, and you're not going to get a better night's sleep. When you walk out the front door to the building, you're literally in the heart of it all. Everything is in walking distance and tour buses stop literally steps from the front door.

Thanks, David, for letting us stay again. We thoroughly enjoy this home away from home!

Quiet Dublin flat

Have stayed in Dublin before- noisy and costly. This flat was excellent for 4 adults, close to Trinity college. Communication with David was excellent. Flat is exactly as described. Safe, quiet, with a lift! Close to all downtown activities and transportation.

Excellent place to stay!

David answered each of our queries in a friendly and quick manner. He was really kind as well to welcome us a few days before the day of our rent to teach us the apartment and show us the access to it, the use of the keys and the codes. We found the apartment really tidy. ​The beds were very comfortable and also clean and scented. ​The kitchen was perfectly stocked with everything you needed. ​All items were in perfect condition and were of good quality as well.

The bathrooms were very comfortable, well equipped and the towels spotless.

Everything turned out fantastic, better than we expected. Just appreciate the opportunity to really enjoy the beautiful city of Dublin in the apartment of Bachelorswalk.

But, I need to say that it would be very useful that David made a "Life Book" to solve all the setbacks that occur in life. Just as he wrote the "Flat Book" that clearly answered and solved any doubt or difficulty that might arise during our stay. It was very useful, EVERYTHING was there, all the necessary information was in the flat book, with precise indications and giving alternatives for each case. It would be great to have a book like this for life !!!

Perfect Flat and Location

My family (mom, dad and 12 year old son) stayed for a week at David's Bachelor Walk flat. He was prompt in responding and helpful from the beginning to the end of the rental process/transaction. Maria the local property manager was also very helpful.

The flat was absolutely perfect from location to accommodations to building security! The building is located on the River Liffey and the flat faces a back courtyard, which was pretty and incredibly quiet. This location is between the Ha’ Penny and O’Connell Street bridges – close to transportation (taxi, buses, and trains), grocery stores, restaurants, the Temple Bar neighborhood, and many other sights. The building is highly secure requiring a key for the front door and elevator; this is always important to us in any major city!! The kitchen was well equipped and had everything we needed. The flat was very clean and super comfortable: relaxing living room with a large TV with countless channel options (this made our son happy at night); the bedrooms and beds were exceptionally comfortable and had tons of storage space for clothes and suitcases; the showers/tub water pressure was excellent and with plenty of hot water; and having access to washer and dryer was so convenient!!

We would definitely recommend this flat and would stay here again!

Excellent location, very quiet

The location of the flat could not be better. It's a couple minute walk to the Temple Bar area or the Jarvis area and just around the corner from O'Connell street and the Luas. There is also a great Marks and Spencer grocery store just behind the building near the Jarvis mall. Even though the flat is in a very busy location because it looks in toward the courtyard it's very quiet. David has outfitted the flat with top of the line bath fittings and kitchen appliances. It's very spacious and comfortable. This is one of the best places we have stayed in all of our travels.

Dublin stay

Stayed with my family at david's place. It was fantastic. The building is right along the river Liffey and fronts a busy road but the flat faces a back courtyard so it is incredibly quiet You wouldn't even know you were in a major city

The flat was clean and spacious The kitchen was cute and functional. We even did alittle laundry

The location can't be beat. Right on the river, super easy walking to temple bar and trinity college. Right around the corner from the post office Amazing

Had a great time, David does a wonderful job coordinating everything , and would definitely without reservation stay here again Cheers
