I have actually already stayed at this property again cuz we enjoyed it so much! It is a beautiful apartment and is spotlessly clean. Such a gorgeous view from the balcony. I wont be surprised if i stay here a third time!

A relaxing surf getaway!

My husband and I were celebrating our ten year anniversary, and this oasis was just what we needed to properly enjoy! The host even kindly let us add an additional night to the stay, as we were not ready to leave after two nights. You can't go wrong with this charming condo with ocean views!

Great View, Super Clean

We stayed in apartment #1 on the top floor and it was great. No one was staying on the first floor so I can't say if it gets loud when another party stays there. The view was amazing and worth every penny. We will defiantly consider staying here again.

Great Place!

I really enjoyed my stay at this condo. Everything went very smoothly getting into the place and everything was nice and clean with all the amenities we could need. The condo was actually even nicer looking in person than in the pictures. It was the perfect size for a couple. I loved the bathroom - very authentic Mexican! Also, the balcony had great views and the location of the condo was perfect to the gates and also to the beach/pool.

Perfect getaway spot.

Traffic noise was pretty loud from the bedroom side where the roads were. That was a very small concern because for the most part the apartment was beautiful, clean, well stocked and had an amazing front view of the ocean. The property owner is honest, available, and everything is as he displays. I'd love to stay here again!

The security guard threaten to call the cops on me because I parked in the wrong place. Instructions for parking were very unclear; In fact, I was told not to park exactly where I was supposed to park according to the security guard. The owner was rude and obnoxious, and expected me to pay a fine which was completely unreasonable. I recommend that no one ever stay at this hosts condo. I ended up leaving two days early because of that experience. It was awful and scary.

Everything was great but it was very complicated getting into the property. Make sure you ask the host for an entry form before arriving. We weren’t allowed in without it and host never answered me back after emailing. We had to figure everything out on our own. Very stressful

As Advertised

I've stayed in a couple different places in Gaviotas. This one is priced appropriately and would make a good first place to stay if you want to get the lay of the land without being on the hook for a bunch of money. The reviews are pretty much what you get. It can be a little noisy from the road but that's what tequila is for. All the units on that side all have the same drawbacks - noise, stairs etc. but it is what it is and Gaviotas is such a great place to stay. This is a really affordable unit for 2 people with what you need to have a great Mexican getaway. We had no problems or issues. All good. Get your butts to Mexico and enjoy!

Newly Renovated 1 Bedroom Condo with Fabulous Views Las Gaviotas Community Rosarito Beach Mx.

This beautifully renovated 1 bedroom condo was my home away from home for 4 delightful weeks in January 2018. About 6 km. from Rosarito Beach, Las Gaviotas Community is a stand alone community with uniquely individual homes, a pool, exercise room and YOGA classes. I relaxed, read, enjoyed the sun poolside and on my balcony and generally experienced great periods of bliss. Immaculate throughout and I am a stickler for 'clean'... I found nothing to complain about. Lucy, the owner's wife became a great source of information, very helpful and friendly. She was busily renovating another home they own there. I took Yoga classes down at the clubhouse 3 times a week which was both varied and interesting. I enjoyed dining across the road at the Bleu Galley, a French cuisine eatery and also just down the road (via a trail) at El Portal, a family run authentic Mexican restaurant. The security guards at this gated community were always friendly and helpful as were the maintenance staff. Surfers will love this beach as each morning and evening I would watch them ride the waves from my balcony. There is a sandy beach with easy access also on the property. All in all, I would highly recommend this spot and condo.

Safe and Beautiful

The property is gated with security which made us feel safe. The Condo is beautiful, very clean and spacious. We really liked the lovely hand painted tiles in the bathroom & gorgeous windows. The furniture is very nice. TV is set up to watch all ur favs by logging into netflix or prime video and the couch is so comfy. Security was good to have but they also were very rude upon having a guest. I explained I didn't know day guest wasn't ok. We had friends staying near by that stopped to say hello. I was fined $100 per person. In the end is my fault because I didn't understand the policy. Just be careful to read through it. The owner sends you a detail list that is very helpful. A simple warning would have suffice in my opinion, but they made me feel as if I committed a huge crime. I was told I could even be arrested. I was cooperative and polite and asked my friends to leave. That didn't seem to matter they still didn't treat me with the same respect I showed them. That didn't take away from this beautiful condo stay. The owner is so easy to reach via text or what's app. We asked for an additional night and he was able to facilitate that via text. The kitchen is equipped very well and the fridge and freezer were cold and ready for us to use right away. Although there isn't AC all the rooms have ceiling fans. There is also an additional floor fan stored in the closet. Enjoy!

OK place if you're on a budget

Before the trip I reached out to the owner and asked him for an address to the place. His first response was that there wasn't really an address and that Google maps DOESN'T WORK IN MEXICO???? Anyway, he later sent me an email with directions and pictures that must have been taken with an 1980's polaroid camera. I just ended up putting "Las Gaviotas" into Google maps and got there just fine. Parking turned out to be a bit of a hassle as the downstairs neighbor made it very clear that the one parking spot in front of the building is his. OK then. There's a tennis court 500ft away and we just parked there for the week. No big deal. The place was OK. For the price we didn't expect much. The pictures in the ad are accurate. The kitchen suited our needs as we only needed it to make some sandwiches, coffee and to heat up food in the microwave. One thing that we didn't like was the cheap, outdated, and uncomfortable patio furniture. One of the scruffy old chairs actually broke the minute my 120lbs wife sat in it. The bedroom....don't open the windows at night as you won't be able to fall asleep. See, what the ad doesn't tell you is that there is a main street right behind the building and as much as I tried to convince myself that fast cars sound similar to the ocean...well they don't. There is a ceiling fan above the bed, so it won't get too hot at night. Bathroom was ok. The patio was nice to be on at night, aside of the aforementioned furniture. What set me off a little was that it took over 6 weeks and 2 reminder emails to get my deposit back. Las Gaviotas is a great gated community with awesome (and dirt cheap!!) restaurants nearby. All in all, I don't think I would go to this particular condo again, however, I will definitely go back to check out some other places on the compound.

Great value!

This place had a beautiful view, was spacious, clean, and close to the ocean and the heated pool. Generally great value! Unfortunately, the internet stopped working after the first day we were there which meant my husband and I couldn’t do the work we had planned to do for half the week. We also couldn’t watch tv. The house is missing some basic items like trash bags, a cutting board, knives to cut fruits and vegetables etc.

Great condo & great location

My wife and I stayed here 8/7/22-8/12/22 & really enjoyed it. Mid week $125/night. Very clean and Las Gaviotas has nice amenities. Rick was responsive and we didn’t have any issues. Some things could be better but for Mexico it exceeded our expectations. The location of Gaviotas was perfect for us as we could drive to Puerto Nuevo in about 5 min. They’ve built a Calimax Supermarket in Puerto Nuevo. We got groceries whenever we needed them. Gaviotas is a beautiful, gated community with tennis & pickleball court, big pool and hot tub next to the ocean. It is super safe as there are always security guards patrolling the property. It’s very quiet. I wouldn’t suggest Gaviotas if you are coming down to rage past 10pm. The private beach is amazing and we spent a couple of nights watching the beautiful sunsets. There is a great right surf break right in front of the pool for longboarding. It was great being on the second floor as we had a perfect ocean view from the patio. This unit is on the last row closest to the main highway. Having the backdoor open at night is not recommended b/c traffic. There are 97 steps to the pool from this 2nd story condo. The beach has umbrellas & a BBQ with one or two tables. The internet went out 2 times. Rick tried to help but he didn’t know where the router was. I used my phone as a mobile hotspot when it was down. No prob. The TV in the bedroom only had two Mexican stations on it so we never used it. Points of interest We ate lobster at Poseidon in Puerto Nuevo which is at the end of the main street and to the right and right on the water. $18 for the house special which is 3 lobsters with fixings. This special always seems to be available. Rueben’s is a 3 min drive south from Gaviotas and was very good as well. It’s on the nicer side and dinner for two with a couple of glasses of wine and beer cost around $50 US and well worth it. Happy Hour is a whole in the wall bar/restaurant we visited a couple of times because of the great ex-pats. Food is supposed to be good too. It’s in between Gaviotas and Puerto Nuevo on the ocean side of the highway. Ensenada is about a 45 min drive south. Hussongs is a mainstay and worth a visit but their prices have gone way up. $10 for 2 tiny margaritas. Nothing to write home about. Papas & Beer is very loud whistles, big weak drinks and ok food. Great place, Carnitas, on the northern end of Rosarito a 15min drive north from Gaviotas. Prices are great and the carnitas are amazing.

We loved staying at La Casa de Corky! Perfect location for checking the waves and an easy walk down to the beach. Couch and bed were especially cozy. Highly recommend.
