Indulge in a luxury stay at our 3-bed, 4-bath cabin in Wrightwood, CA, where comfort meets adventure. Nestled against the breathtaking Angeles National Forest, the cabin provides a serene escape for unforgettable getaways. Cozy bedrooms, a fireplace, and mountain views create a welcoming ambiance. After exploring the forest trails, unwind in the private hot tub. With modern amenities and a scenic backdrop, our cabin promises a luxurious and memorable Wrightwood retreat.
Knotty By Nature is a labor of love for the Davis family. It was once owned by grandpa and bought by his daughter, Kathie, to keep in the family. During 2023, it was completely remodeled. Everything grandpa was `going to do` got done. Kathie kept his dream alive. She even repurposed the old loft banister into planks and built new open-shelving for the kitchen. Imagine the charm of 1960s A-frame windows meeting a farmhouse style with urban/industrial flare. It`s all new - everything - a must visit!
Our goal is to make this space as inviting and relaxing as possible. We use high quality linens and bathroom amenities for you to enjoy during your stay here. Just a short drive or stroll to the village and a 4.5 mile drive to Mountain High Resort.

Living Room: Couch/queen pull-out
Kitchen: Prep your meals with ease on an 8-burner range and double oven. Clean up can happen in one shift with 2 dishwashers.
Complimentary Coffee Bar: Would you prefer coffee, tea, hot chocolate, or to bring your own beans? We have a grinder, Keurig, French press, kettle, and coffee pot. Top with a cinnamon stick, honey, licorice, or marshmallows. Grab popcorn and a cozy blanket to curl up and watch your favorite movie.
Dining Room: Located next to the kitchen. The dining room table seats up to 10 comfortably.
Living Room: Three sofas to cozy up on while enjoying a fire and TV show/movie on the large smart TV.
Fireplace: We have a very quirky fireplace that can result in smoke damage easily. For that reason, there is only an electric insert for guest use.
Fire Pit: There is an outdoor propane fire pit to enjoy and roast those marshmallows on!
Back Yard: The Angeles National Forest is our backyard. Please note, the yard is NOT fully fenced in.
PARKING: There are two driveways on the property. One is a long gradual uphill driveway to the garage (15-30% grade). Note: garage is NOT accessible to guests. The second is a semi-circle around the huge front oak tree (5-10% grade). If over 4` of snow, the driveways and berm will be plowed for your stay. We will leave a snow plow shovel if you want to partake in some winter exercise. Otherwise, the eaves cover enough walkway to access the front door. Guests are welcome to park in the driveway during their stay. Please note that the garage will not be available for use.
ACCESSIBILITY:
There are stairs up to the deck in front of the house but you can access the interior by just 2 steps from the back door. Host can set up ramp if requested prior to stay. The driveway will take you most of the way there (all cement). The first-floor bathroom shower is tiled and has level sliding glass doors. Flooring is luxury vinyl planks with exception to rugs that can be rolled out of the way.
Pet Policy
Knotty by Nature is pet friendly for 2 pets maximum. We ask guests to pay a $75 pet cleaning fee at reservation. Any additional pets will be considered for an additional $25/pet. Dogs must be crate trained for when the owner is away from the property. Guests MUST notify us prior to their arrival if they are bringing a pet & the breed/size.
A portion of the pet fee is donated to a local animal rescue: Beazy Farms Animal Sanctuary.
The Location
The home is located 0.6 miles from downtown Wrightwood and 4.5 miles from Mountain High Resort. The downtown area provides great eateries and entertainment including local shops, a brewery, live music on select days, and a local farmer`s market every Friday.
There is an abundance of gorgeous hiking trails perfect for either a quick stroll and a picnic, or more strenuous hikes to epic vistas overlooking the surrounding Angeles National Forest. We also have mountain biking and disc golf as local activities. For travelers looking to explore local Southern California the property is located only an hour and a half from well known beaches. Where else can you ski and surf in the same day?
During the winter months, weather can be unpredictable and we strongly advise you to purchase travel insurance. You can do this when booking on your platform. If there are last minute road closures (accidents, weather, fire, etc.), car trouble/chains, family emergencies or other, you will not be reimbursed.
+ Please check the weather prior to your stay so you can be properly prepared. We are in an area that can get hot in the summer, very cold in the winter and can experience high winds. We will not issue refunds for weather issues, or road closures that are out of our control.
+ When visiting a mountain town, it`s important to be aware that you may encounter various types of insects and bugs due to the natural environment. No refunds will be issued, though we make every effort to manage pest control.
+ We strongly encourage purchasing travelers insurance, especially in the winter months.
Read, copy, answer, and paste the following:
1. Guests names and ages
2. We understand that this is a non-smoking property and that we will be charged $250 for any evidence left from smoking of any kind
3. We will respect the 9 pm - 9 am `quiet time` outside
4. We understand this is NOT a `party` cabin
5. We understand we are REQUIRED to separate our trash & recycling and will comply.
6. We understand that if we `sneak` in additional guests we will be charged $100 per guest.
7. I am/ I am not bringing an animal. Breed: Size:
8. I am/I am not bringing a service animal. We are allowed to ask: Is the assistance animal required because of a disability? What work or task has the animal has been trained to perform. If I bring a service animal, I agree that I cannot leave it alone at any time.
9. I understand Wrightwood has septic tanks and they are very sensitive. I will be responsible for any plumbing fees if anyone in my group plugs up the toilet.
10. We will have ______ vehicles.
11. We have/have not purchased travel insurance. We understand that no refunds will be issued due to weather or road closures.
