We had a fantastic time! The house was clean, stocked with all the essentials and perfectly located for exploring the island. Beautiful views made it easy to relax, and Angie was super helpful and attentive. Highly recommend!
We had a wonderful stay! The hosts were fantastic to deal with—friendly, responsive, and made everything easy. The house itself was spotless, comfortable, and in a perfect location. While the mosquitos kept us from spending too much time on the beach, the deck was completely bug-free and became our favorite spot to relax. Overall, a great experience and we would definitely stay here again!
The house is absolutely wonderful and Angie and Dylan were incredibly kind and helpful! Our family of six thoroughly enjoyed our stay. There is plenty of room for the kids to play (and our teenagers loved the exercise room!) Thank you for making our stay perfect!
What an amazing house. It has everything you could ask for. We enjoyed the air hockey table down stairs most nights. A great central location to explore all of PEI. Owners were easy to contact and had answers to all our questions.
Well maintained home on a large property in a quiet neighbourhood. Beautiful views of the ocean. Conveniently located close to Charlottetown. The host was very friendly and responsive. Highly recommend for a family vacation!
Beautiful views but close to Charlottetown as well
The property was perfect for our family’s needs. Everyone had their own space, and we were able to cook meals for times when we weren’t going out. Quick and easy access to Charlottetown but very quiet and secluded.
We had a wonderful experience at this property. Angie and Dylan were wonderful hosts and the house was perfect for my husband, daughter and myself. It’s as beautiful as the pictures depicted and so close to the beach. I would rent this one again!
Lovely home. Hosts were welcoming and available for any questions during our stay. Home was very well equipped for cooking, playing games, watching tv and relaxing. Comfortable furniture and beautiful view!
We really enjoyed our stay on PEI at the house in Mermaid. Angie, Dillon and family were awesome hosts. The house a location were perfect for our home base during the several weeks we spent walking PEI Island Walk. We could have asked for a better house or better hosts.

The essence of PEI
We thoroughly enjoyed staying at this home. Beautiful location with well maintained lawn and great water views. Easy drive to Charlottetown and close to grocery store. The home was clean, felt very safe - all the windows stayed open throughout our stay. The owner's were wonderful and made our stay perfect. I would definitely rent this house again.
We had a wonderful stay at the Mermaid Beach House! The house was SPOTLESS! The atmosphere was comfortable and relaxing. Our kids went crazy for the play room and the toy jeep! Thank you for a wonderful PEI experience!
This location met all our requirements. Ample room, a large yard for our puppies to enjoy, a beautiful deck to view the surroundings and the tranquil water a short walk away. A quiet neighbourhood and a very easy drive into Charlottetown and starting point for all those adventures across the island. Angie was always a phone call or text away to answer any questions or concerns we had and offered up dining suggestions as well! It was a wonderful, relaxing week...
Mermaid Beach House is a beautiful property with the most amazing views of open marshes and the sea - we saw Herons fishing, so many birds and it was the perfect start and end to our day sitting out on the deck - absolutely stunning views and one of the quietest places to stay in a lovely neighborhood. Also so close to Charlotte town and surrounding areas - our Hosts left a pass to the Provincial Parks to enjoy and we used it every day. Would highly recommend - the photographs absolutely do not do justice to the open indoor space and there was absolutely everything our family needed for our stay - if you have children there is a whole playroom for them to enjoy. Angie and Dylan were the perfect hosts and responded to all our questions promptly. Yes, there are mosquitos in the marshes, grass and we were not able to walk down to the sea for this reason but our Hosts offered to come and spray to help with this. We were prepared due to other reviews and just took spray and bug zappers. We were able to sit on the deck without being affected at all. Just a stunning place and highly recommend no question.

Beautiful property
This is a beautiful property and perfect location for seeing the island. We had a great stay, there was plenty of room for the children and if you have toddlers, there is an enormous amount of toys to entertain them. The living room is large and we had lots of room to move around, even with an infant on the floor half the time. Master bedroom is awesome, and always a nice breeze blowing through. There were a few things I felt could have helped. There were no blinds on the windows and the rooms were very bright, which is awesome in the daytime, but for going to bed, not ideal, especially if you have children. Other than that, it was just little things, no soap in the bathrooms on arrival, no pepper, really no basics to get you started, and no laundry hampers, which having small children with us, would have been nice, instead there was always dirty laundry on the floors. This being said, we had a great time and I'm sure if we had mentioned these things, Angela would have been right on it. We would definitely recommend this property, and I'm sure the little things will get worked out. If you visit PEI, Point Prim Chowder House is a must!!

Hi Kim, thanks for the review and we are so glad you enjoyed your stay. Thank you for the kind comments and the helpful hints, we strive to achieve 5 stars for all our guests , and your comments will help us to continue to do so. We thank you for your recommendations and will follow up accordingly. Our apologies we had not noted the pepper mill had run dry. Black out drapes are installed in all bedrooms. It was our pleasure to welcome your family. All the best. Angie & Dylan
We had a great week at this property! The house and amenities were great, my kids really enjoyed the basement playroom, and we really appreciated it being dog friendly. The hosts were very easy to deal with, and the proximity to Charlottetown was so convenient !
A few things to note:
1) So. Many. Mosquitoes! I understand it was a bad year in general for mosquitos in PEI, but we found them significantly worse at the house than other places we visited on the island (marshy type area in front likely the culprit), and very disruptive to our enjoyment of the property...could not sit out on the deck or throw a ball in the backyard for even a few minutes without many many bites...could not even make it from the car to the front door without being swarmed. Unfortunate for sure, as the outdoor space is lovely.
2) The beach in front of the property was really not a beach....even at low tide, when there is some exposed red sand, there were so many oyster/mussel shells on the beach that there was really no practical way to have the kids or dog play on the beach. In fact, before we realized how sharp they were we all got cuts on our feet while trying to walk.
All of the above to say, if you are looking for a lovely house with serene views, great hosts and a very convenient location for Charlottetown, this is a great choice! If you are hoping for more of a PEI "cottage" experience, then I would suggest another rental.

Dear Allison, thank you for your feedback, and we are so disappointed your experience was not just as you hoped. Thank you for the kind words about our place and also thank you for sharing your concerns. We do everything in our power to make sure everything is just as it should be, to control the things we can control to the very best we can. The mosquitos this past week in PEI have been like no other across the Island!! We spend the summers on the North Shore in PEI and this past week has been terrible as well!! The previous weeks of summer had been good and its been a number of years since we have had a comment of this nature as our community proactively has a mosquito management program. Periodically over the years the Island has had these scenarios come up with mosquitos, it’s so unfortunate this happened. We will be checking in with our current guests in regards and will be looking into an environmentally friendly way to works things out if its a concern. When were there yesterday preparing for their arrival things seemed back to normal but will follow up just in case. Thanks again for your feedback, we are glad to know you still had a great week, but are very disappointed this took away from it. Sincerely, Angie and Dylan
Nous avons apprécié la communication avec la propriétaire, la tranquillité, le fait d'être à 10 minutes de route de Charlottetown.La maison était très propre. Nous n'avons pas utilisé la plage car elle n'étair pas appropriées pour nous
Our family rented this wonderful home as we visited the island. The home had plenty of room to have additional family stop in and visit without making the place feel over crowded. The home was in a nice and quiet neighbourhood where we took our son for a walk nearly every morning.
We had an incredible stay with our family, including 2 young children. Beautiful house & great location just outside of Charlottetown. Hosts extremely helpful & attentive before & during our stay. Highly recommend!
Loved the views! House was well laid out for a bigger group of guests but even a small group of two was great to have room to spread out. Owners were very responsive and supplied everything you could hope for! The toy room was a bonus abd made the stay very exciting fir my toddler. Highly recommend.
Do suggest having a car. Mosquitos were killer but expect that was due to time of the year and that are used to city living :).
