About this property
Iconic Church Turned Unique Stay (Casino/VIR)
About this space A mere 1 mile from the new Caesar's Casino...sin all day and attone at night at The Church of the Perpetual Boogie!
Abandoned for 11 years, the CPB restoration journey has been chronicled in newspapers, on TV, and we even have a large "congregation" on FB.
The Church of the Perpetual Boogie has been under historic restoration for the past 2.5 years. 100% of the proceeds will be put toward the restoration of the 1870's sanctuary and continued enhancements to the living areas. The space In the "City of Churches" the very first house of worship was constructed on this spot in the 1820's by the Presbyterians. Later in the 19th century, the Presbyterian built our amazing 9000 sqft Gothic Revival church.
You'll have access to 3 bedrooms... one was the former Pastor Study, the second part of the former Nursery and the third a former sitting room. Each bedroom has its own climate control and large light-filled broken arch windows.
The primary living space is 1500sqft and served as the former Fellowship Hall. This space has a stage with a large 85" TV, ample seating, and even a bar (altar?).
The dining room comfortably seats 8-10 at the 11' table. There is plenty of other seating in the room as well.
The kitchen is massive and the counter space is overwhelming... typical of church kitchens designed to feed the masses. The appliances are brand-new (the fridge even makes ice cubes in multiple sizes!).
The sanctuary is not part of the listing, but we can show you around or grant access at your own risk. It's something special :)
... a space graced by the oldest organ in Danville, an almost 200-year-old bell with a place in history, and amazing stained glass windows that includes an 8' cylindrical rose glass window. Guest access You'll have complete access to all parts of the building minus the sanctuary currently under restoration. Although not part of the listing, feel free to reach out if you'd like to explore the sanctuary (at your own risk) and we can perhaps grant access!
Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.

This was the most interesting and unique place I have ever rented. I was with my son and grand kids, ages 12 and 15. The first night everyone took pictures of each room and sent to their friends. We have told everyone we know about ‘our church’ stay and how much we loved it. It was very clean, well equipped and very comfortable. We were able to walk to our favorite breakfast spot. The location is perfect. I really cannot say enough good things about our stay, we loved it. The owner was very responsive. If you want to have fun and be comfortable, this is the place for you!
We stayed at Boogie church for a long weekend art retreat. It's a fun, one-of-a-kind property filled with history and humor. There is a lot of space / huge rooms. We enjoyed eating in the dining room each evening. The beds are comfortable and it's nice to have an ac/heat unit in each bedroom. Danville is a pretty, quiet city. We walked to the Farmer's Market on Saturday morning. Jeremy was very responsive and check in and check out was easy. This is a funky place but that's why it's special!
The pictures don't do the place justice. It's simply amazing. The price is ridiculously low when you see what you are getting. Checking pi was the easiest of any property I've ever been to. The host is very quick to respond. Don't hesitate, just book it.0
Came here for a girls trip & had an absolutely amazing time! The owner has put a lot of thought into his renovations & (of course) humor! You discover something fun/whimsical around every corner. The neighborhood is going through some revitalization but DON'T let that scare you! It's extremely safe & close to everything! Everything was pretty clean. The host kept in contact & was very helpful. I'll definitely go back!
First of all, Jeremy was a wonderful host! He was so accommodating from start to finish and very responsive through messenger. You rock, Jeremy!
The property itself was spectacular. This was the most unique rental I have stayed in to date and one of the only rentals that I can confidently say I WILL return to without a doubt. It was comfortable, intriguing, silly, and memorable. Our group truly had a blast.
Church of Perpetual Boogie, you have my heart ❤️
5 stars. Would absolutely stay again, sins and all.Booked this place for a men’s weekend at VIR and honestly, the location alone earns its stars, close enough to the track that you’re not white-knuckling a drive after a long day of racing. But the real story here is the house itself. The Church of the Perpetual Boogie commits fully to its bit. Whoever designed this place understood the assignment: reverent enough to be funny, funny enough to be memorable. The decor is genuinely well done, not cheap novelty-shop kitsch, but curated kitsch, which is a much harder thing to pull off.MVP of the trip: the little Jesus figurine in the shower, tastefully turned to face the wall. Someone thought about that. Someone cared. A hospitality, 10/10 discretion.Runner up: the painting of Jesus punching a body of water and sending wine bottles flying. I have no notes. I have only questions, and I choose not to ask them.Group had a great time, the space had plenty of room for everyone, and we left already telling other people they need to book it. Only downside is that I’m fairly sure my Sunday school teacher would not approve, but I’m willing to take that up with someone upstairs later.10/10, will return, may need to confess first.
