Designed and built by world renowned artist, builder and ecologist Dan Phillips, this unique property was built to include recycled materials such as bottle caps for ceiling designs, broken mirror shards to form mosaic bathroom walls and thousands of decommissioned Texas license plates used as roofing shingles.

Please simply tidy up, do dishes, place used towels in downstairs tub, gather & take out the trash, and we'll do the rest!
Please also be sure to search for and grab your cell phone chargers, stray socks, clothes, personal pillows, medications, etc. We don't want you forgetting any of these important items!
Feel free to leave unopened beverages for the next guests if you don't want to haul them, please sign the guestbook, like us on Instagram and put pins in the hallway map(s) from where y'all are from!
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
Check-in is at 4pm or anytime thereafter unless an early check-in is arranged with the host.

My grandson was graduating high school and we rented this house for the weekend. Came down from Arkansas. Enjoyed the weekend and the stay. I’ll have to save it was neat to see the decor and the more you look the more you see different. Also love the vinyl collection. Great place.

A very great location, just a short walk to the town square. Such an artfully and beautifully decorated place! The nice back deck and fenced in yard was ideal for us. The hosts are easy to reach and respond quickly. Highly recommend this gem for your Huntsville visit!

Joseph has created a unique, comfortable and welcoming environment for travelers. We stayed three days and each day we discovered something that reminded us of our childhood, a family member or an experience while younger. We appreciated how fully, and I mean fully, stocked the home was compared to so many other places that strip the kitchen clean every time guests leave. Forget a spice - they have it. Forget aluminum foil - they have it. Forget coffee - no worries. Each bathroom had available new travel size toiletries someone inevitably forgets. It was a two-block walk to the square and the back yard served us well. Our only regret is we didn't find this place four years earlier when our son started at SHSU - we were there now for graduation - as we would have traded every prior hotel stay for this home.
