Elegant, Private, Mountain Retreat with Spectacular Views

Bedrooms 4
Space 3,000 sq. ft.
Property type house
Minimum Stay 30 nights

About the property

House, 4 Bedrooms + Loft + Den, 4 Baths, (Sleeps 6-8)

This elegant architect-designed house is light-filled and private. It has floor to ceiling windows facing the mountains. It works very well for 3 generations to come together, because it offers privacy and sound-separation from the top floor to the bottom.

The main level has a living-dining-kitchen room with a woodstove. From the kitchen window you can see the park just beyond the garden- no road to cross for kids to get there. Also on the main floor is the double bedroom and attached bath, which is great for grandparents, as everything they need is on one level.

Above, there is a spacious king-bedded master suite with huge walk-in closet and a loft-reading space that can hold a crib if desired. Even the large bathtub in the master suite has its own private view of Cascade Mountain!

The lower level has high ceilings which give the family room its own terrific view of mountains, a large screen television and gas fireplace. The queen-sized bedroom and bathroom on that floor gives young people their privacy. The laundry room is also on that level.

The garden level has a single bedroom with a large desk for the computer user, and an attached bathroom with a steam shower, and doors out to both the garden and the garage.

There are two patios, above and below, and a double garage.

The house is filled with art, books, and antiques and has its own peaceful aura, which you feel the minute you walk in the door. Sit on the sofa and gaze out the windows and watch the sun move over the peaks. Or, walk or bike on the river trails, ski at the nearby Nordic Centre or drive to Sunshine Village, 20 minutes away. Quarry Lake is where the locals swim in summer, and is also a 5 minute walk.

Absolutely perfect accommodation and location

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time in Canada and were absolutely delighted with the accommodation. It looked lovely on the website but is even better when you see the flow of the layout, the fantastic rooms, the lovely furnishings and the fantastic views from the magnificent windows. Very well equipped and the TV room was great.

The outside is also superb with a quiet and welcoming street. We were really very impressed.

The owner was a pleasure to deal with concerning the initial/all arrangements and the suggesting of places to eat, places to hire equipment etc. it all worked really well for the group.

A big thank you!!

If you are looking for the perfect moutain getaway this is it! We had family visiting us from Australia and wanted to show them the beauty of Canmore, Banff & Lake Louise. This was the perfect home base for our week long stay. The house is beautifully appointed, very comfortable, and convenient to town if you need to pop into the shops or restaurants but still feels very private and secluded. The views are spectacular. It far exceeded our expectations. In fact I enjoyed it so much I didn't want to leave and wrote to request to extend my stay! Katherine is lovely and accommodated us for an additional night so we could enjoy a full extra weekend in paradise. Great house, beautiful views....the perfect moutain holiday spot especially for families and or groups who want to stay together but have plenty of privacy and space. Thank you!

Mountain Paradise!!

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our getaway to Canmore, the mountains, and this beautiful, immaculate home . As luck had it we encountered fresh snow as we snowshoed the Hogarth Lakes Loop in Peter Lougheed Park. The Bow River pathway is within walking distance and an enjoyable way to spend an afternoon. The mountain views from this home were spectacular!

Quiet, very comfortable house with stunning views and masterful lay-out.

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this fabulous house in January and found it the perfect base for winter vacation activities. Five minutes from downtown Canmore, it's perfectly located for shopping and restaurants and yet once inside the house there's a real sense of privacy with amazing views of the local mountains. The lay-out on four different levels makes for individual zones which worked well for our extended family and there was enough space for everyone so that people weren't crowding each other. The house was immaculately clean and comfortable, the neighbourhood was very quiet and there were interesting trails down to and along the river. We'd certainly go back as it would be great in the summer too.

Terrific house, convenient, well-maintained

  • 5 of 5

Stayed here with my mother and father-in-law, our children in their twenties, and my wife and myself.

It suited everyone- large kitchen so everyone could help with meals, two garages for cars and skis, good restaurants downtown, lots of sun in the days. What's is not to like? Oh right, that we had to leave after a week. Could have happily stayed a month.

Just a perfect mountain vacation

  • 5 of 5

Our family loved staying at your home. It is just as you say it is, perfect for several generations to spend time together without driving each other nuts. The kinds are at the park within earshot, and we're sitting gazing at the view. It was spotlessly clean. And so cleverly designed- We could see the mountains out of every window! The neighbourhood is great, the river paths so near and beautiful. You were helpful and attentive. Thanks so much! We hope to come back again soon.

Owner's Response: I'm glad you enjoyed your stay, and that your kids (or is it grandkids?) had fun in the little park out the back door. Please do let us know when you want to come back.
