About this property

Debordieu Beach Front Traditional Home-located at 1415 Debordieu Blvd.

In addition to all the amenities that can be found throughout the beach community you will find many happy times at our beach house. There are 7 and 1/2 bedrooms. Three on the main floor. The Master quarters which is beach side and has a King bed, TV, tile bath, and separate area lavatories and closets. The other beach side bedroom has a King size bed and a private bath. The front bedroom has a double and a single bed and a private shower bath. Upstairs there are four beach side bedrooms that all have baths and a door to the outside balcony overlooking the deck and beach. The upstairs North bedroom has a King bed and a small couch. This suite is also connected to single half-bedroom which also doubles as a reading TV room that has a single sleeper couch and shares the bath with the North bedroom. The middle north bedroom has two full size beds. The middle south bedroom has a full and a twin bed. The south bedroom has a King bed.
This beach house was built 43 years ago on the secluded beach of DeBordieu. We have seen turtles hatching, birds migrating by the thousands, calm seas and hurricanes. We have walked the pristine beach with no other soul in sight. There have been breathtaking sunrises and full moons that cannot be described, only witnessed and felt. The soft sound of the waves breaking on the beach has dissipated the stress of work, and when the water becomes angry and the storms and lightning display their fireworks, there is an excitement that revitalizes the spirit. We have found something primeval about the coast and our beach house that not only attracts the physical but also the inner spirit. We hope you also will find excitement and solace here.
The beach is directly in front of our beach house and the deck has steps going directly to the beach. There are many gated communities along the Carolina coast, but without a question the “best kept secret” is DeBordieu Colony. Located just four miles north of historic Georgetown and eight miles south of Pawleys Island, DeBordieu is the southernmost beach community of the Grand Strand. Not only is the community a vacation paradise, but also a wildlife and nature treasure.

Great stay

Relaxed Weekend on the Ocean

We loved our stay! Highlights were the amazing ocean side screened porch, pool and ping pong tables, and all the comforts of a home away from home! Also, loved the beautiful watercolors painted by the owner that were displayed throughout the house! We would definitely visit again.

The house and area are beautiful! Close to a beautiful beach which great for walking and bicycling. We even saw two baby turtles making their way to the ocean. Owner was readily available and helpful. The home was clean and ready for us. It was beautifully decorated. We would love to be able to stay there again.

Family reunion

The House and beach were perfect for our group of 8 adults and 6 children! The house is very close to the beach and is beautiful, as is location. There were beach chairs, bikes, a pool table and ping pong table, all in the basement and available for our use. We especially enjoyed the large window above the kitchen sink which looks right out onto the ocean in the direction of sunrise. The best beach house ever!

I give my highest recommendation to this beautiful house and its fabulous host! Kurt was perhaps the best host I have ever interacted with on VRBO. From the moment I reached out to inquire about availability, his responses were immediate and helpful. His house was perfect for my extended family of 12, situated right on the dunes of a beach that stretches for miles of natural beauty in either direction. The rocking chairs on the screened-in front porch were a hit with everyone, especially those in our party with mobility challenges. Even from the house, everyone enjoyed the feeling of being right on the beach. The downstairs game room was a hit with the young adults, who enjoyed playing ping pong and pool. Everyone in our party agreed that we cannot wait to come back again.

Beach House

This house was perfect for our extended family! Each bedroom had its own bathroom, and we had enough bedrooms and beds for us all. The pool table and ping pong tables in the basement were perfect for rainy afternoons and for the kids (24-29) to hang out. The golf cart and bikes were a great plus too! I appreciate the hospitality John and Lee! It was close enough for my husband and son to be able to work a couple of days and run home to feed the dogs. My family from NC and Tenn loved the house, the golf course, and the security of the Debordieu area.

Simply Special!

The Jackson home is a not merely a rental; it is a unique and welcoming oasis. This is due not only to its listed amenities, but primarily because of its host and owner. The comfortable accommodations allow privacy and guests are able to savor the setting, the spaciousness and the casual feeling of home. This is enhanced by cordial and prompt communications before, during and after our stay and the privilege of enjoying Mr. Jackson’s artwork which adorn the walls. We seven women, who have been friends for 50+ years, have paid the Jacksons the highest compliment possible, having already booked this magical dwelling for next year!

We rented this property for a family reunion and my 70th Birthday party. It was perfect. The four upstairs bedrooms have a balcony overlooking the ocean. Great view to get you going in the morning! Large screened-in porch leading to an open deck and short walkway to the ocean. We had the beach to ourselves in April. Nice floor plan for our large birthday gathering. The garage/basement level is great for games and the golf cart. Mr. Jackson was an incomparable host, very accommodating and personable. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Great house, great location, great owners!!!

I stayed at the Jackson's Debordieu with a large group of friends for a long weekend. The house is great - perfect location, lots of space, very homey, and an amazing screened in porch and open back deck with lots of rocking chairs. Not to mention the beautiful view - on the beach, and at high tide the water comes up to the deck. With a group of 15, I was worried we might be a little cramped, but there was more than enough room in both the common areas and plenty of beds for everyone to sleep. While the house was amazing, I cannot say enough about the owners. They were very helpful and accomodating - they set up a temporary membership to the club for us to use during our visit. They made sure we had everything we needed before we arrived and were always available if we needed anything while we were there. I would recommend this house to any family or group of friends looking for a relaxing vacation at the beach!

Relaxing Beach Front Home!

Our family of 16 (some there for 2 nights most there for 4) had a wonderful Thanksgiving week at the Jackson's perfect beach front house. We loved the quietness of being near the end of the row of houses and the peaceful walking in the uninhabited beach area. We ALL truly relaxed...Having a bathroom with each bedroom makes a huge difference with such a large group. The kids had plenty to do between the pool and ping pong, football games on the beach and of course the family competition to see who could find the most sharks teeth. (Between us all we found over 100!) We all played tennis together at the club and spotted 18 alligators on the nature trail from the golf cart. Adults enjoyed every morning of coffee in the rocking chairs on the deck literally feet from the waves. I would highly recommend and will hopefully be back...Thank you Jackson's for your hospitality!

Absolutely Perfect!

This house was absolutely perfect for our needs. The owners were great communicators and have done a wonderful job renovating this beautiful beach house. The bedrooms and bathrooms upstairs have been totally redone. I love the bed layout (a queen, plus a twin) in multiple rooms allows for lots of options for siblings and cousins to "bunk up". And the four master bedrooms with king beds are so great when you have multiple families under one roof. The new furniture, lighting, wallpaper etc. are all very nice and have a great modern beach feel. Kitchen is well stocked with all appliances you would need! The "basement" area with pool table and ping pong table are great for rainy day activities and the additional refrigerator down there is great for big groups. And last but certainly not least, the views from the house are INCREDIBLE! You couldn't be any closer to the beach and the back porches are perfect for morning coffee or after dinner drinks! We rented Golf Carts and and it was a short ride to the main clubhouse and pool! We would definitely rent again and I would definitely recommend to friends!

Our Family Vacation

We stepped out on a limb this year. We normally do our family vacation in OBX which consists of 17 family members. This year we only had 12 so we decided to change our destination. We had reach out last year in July about the house and The original owner John had messaged me back saying he sold the property. He gave me the new owners (Kurt's) information but since it was juat sold i didnt follow up with it. Not knowing John had reach out to Kurt and give him my info. Kurt sent me and email saying that the house was still available. We couldnt have been more pleased that Kurt reach back out to us because we had the most amazing time. The house was better then we could have imaged as Kurt has already done many renovation and is still working to make it even better. It had all the amenities you could ask for. The beach and the views are almsot unbelievable. We walked the beach and found over 75 shark teeth which we have never been able to do in OBX. Kurt was a great host and answered any questions we had. We cant wait to come back. Thanks again Kurt for opening your home up to us. We truly appreciate it.

Relaxing

The location was relaxing, quiet & enjoyed the overall ambiance. The house is large enough for a large family to spread out. The owner was helpful & personable. Will plan to return, when we are able to stay longer than just a long weekend. The house needs some updates & repairs, but be patient as Mr Moore, the new owner, takes on these projects.

Fall Beach Reunion

The house, beach and location were perfect for our large family, consisting of 3 “seniors”, their children and grandchildren. We loved the proximity to the beach. The sunrise was straight in front of our deck and porch. The neighborhood is located in a beautiful maritime forest with live oaks and Spanish moss. Altogether the property was our favorite of the many we have stayed in over the years. We hope to return next year!

Great Beach Vacation

This property changed hand shortly before our stay. However, the new owner made every effort to conform to the previous owner's claims. Our group of 18 adults greatly enjoyed our stay. The house is in need of some updating, but the new owner intends to work on that. The house has direct access to a beach that is hardly used. Most of the amenities in the house were adequate. We hardily recommend this house for a large group gathering.
