Beautiful and modern ground level apartment near the Walter E.Washington Convention Center with two bedrooms and two full bathroom plus a pullout sofa in the living room. Ideal for work or vacation, walking to the metro, bus, restaurants and the biggest grocery store in DC. Guest regularly walk to the Capitol building!

The location is very convenient to the Walter E. Washington Convention Center which is located above the Mount Vernon Metro station. The Shaw Metro station is 3 blocks to the apartment. The largest grocery store in DC (Giant Foods) is about a 10 minutes walk right on P and 8th streets. This space is also shared with upstairs unit but there is plenty of street parking available!

This apartment is a newly renovated ground floor (no stairs), easy access apartment with new kitchen, bathrooms and floors ready to accommodate you, your friends and family in the center of Washington DC! This apartment has a full kitchen with high end appliances, a full laundry with washer and dryer, digital cable and high speed broadband wireless.
Fully air conditioned with new high efficiency systems.
The dining table seats 6 people. The beds are all queen size and so is the pull out sofa/bed!

Clean, comfortable DC lower (Garden) unit accessible to metro.

This property was clean and as advertised. It is about 7 blocks from the Metro so easily accessible to the Mall and other DC sites. The only "complaint" are the universally uncomfortable bedroom pillows (an easy fix).

A great ground floor unit!

We stayed in this ground floor unit for a month and we had a nice time. The kitchen has everything you need. There is a very good supermarket an 8-minute walk from the flat. The owners, Alan and Juliet are friendly and they were very responsive if we needed something. We will come back!

Great "Home" while visiting DC

My husband and I and another couple just spent two weeks in DC for two reasons - one to see the marvelous treasures in our nation's capital and second to do something tangible to save our democracy by demonstrating through Democracy Spring to get money out of our politics. This condo was perfect for us. It was convenient to everything, the kitchen was well supplied, the beds were comfortable, the showers and tub rejuvenating. Allen was responsive immediately with any question or need that we had which made us feel well cared for. It was fun living as the locals do, on a residential street, rather than a hotel. Groceries were close by and we ate in for breakfast and a few other meals, but we ate out a lot because the DC restaurants were spectacular! We would definitely recommend this Home Away property.

Musty smell and Mosquito infested

The property need to be fumagted for mosquitos. The upstairs apartment wakes up at 5 am on weekends and this apartment you can hear every footstep, this property needs additional insulation in the ceiling. I could see putting up with neighbor noise on a long term lease, but these owner are providing a " Vacation Rental " This property is not vacation worthy. The owners were nice and offered to provide some Off mosquito repellant. There must be a leak somewhere in the sewer or drainage system as slugs were crawing out of the rear bathroom shower. We did NOT use that bathroom as it was infested with mosquitos. Owners need to find the source of the " Musty smell and fix it and also pay to have a professional fumagate the apartment. Their wer numerous cobwebs and the place has had a " surface wipe down " but it nneds a thorough scrubbing. We could not wait to get out of there. The owners have a beautiful kitchen and really nice appliances and the property shows well. The couch needs a thorough steam clean. It was just not a pleasant stay. It could have been really nice but the owners need to do some work on cleaning and my guess I they have a broken clay sewer line that is generating the musty smell and the bugs crawing in through the drain. The neighborhood is Up and coming but some of the streets and buildings are sketchy, would not like to be out late at night in this neighborhood. Regards Jeff Ridges

Enjoyed my stay

We enjoyed this property and its location, especially the A/C. This spot worked well for my family because it’s central to everything. My families only feedback would be that the couch is visibly dirty and littered with stains which should be cleaned or replaced. The WiFi did go out on us the last 2 days of our stay which was a bummer, luckily we were prepared with WiFi hotspots.

Clean and Commfortable Family-Compatible Place in DC

This is a well-appointed property located within the District, so this 2-bedroom, 2-bath with pull out sofa sleeper is ideal for a family with older children. It is a very comfortable and quiet place to relax and unwind after a day touring DC. We generally felt safe, but there is a large local homeless population (tent city within a block or so) and some abandoned buildings nearby. We found the Metro a little far to access easily, but we enjoyed using rental bikes and scooters as our main transportation into town as they were readily available around the neighborhood. We would happily stay here again.

DC sights

The house was clean and had everything we needed. We appreciated the coffee supplies and the bottle of wine. We walked to the metro and took that to the national mall to see the memorials and museums. Finding street parking near the house was a bit of a hassle but we managed. We would stay again.

Great stay for family and friends

We loved this place! I would stay here again. Very close to everything and Ubering was easy and cheap to almost everywhere. My teens loved it too. The beds don’t look comfortable but slept very well on them.

Very comfortable with everything we needed

This apartment is well situated. Just a short walk to groceries; and easy street access to Uber and Lyft to go anywhere in the city. The kitchen was well equipped. Living area and bedrooms were very comfortable. The host was very responsive to questions and concerns. We hope to stay here again soon!

Great getaway

We really enjoyed our stay at this rental. Juliet answered every & all questions in a timely manner. The new kitchen made breakfasts easy before venturing out to the capital. Close to the metro station making it easy to get downtown. Close to grocery stores but be prepared to pay for plastic bags or bring your own.

Clean and Convenient

I stayed here with my family while I attended a conference at the convention center. The apartment was clean and look exactly like the pictures. I was able to walk everyday to the convention center which was super close to stores and restaurants . The only issue I had and it wasn't a big deal but I wish the place came with a parking permit so I could have parked my car in front of the apartment instead of around the corner. I checked my car everyday and it was fine. I woukd stay hete again.

Senior Tourists

This brownstone was perfect for 2 couples visiting DC. The home was clean & had everything we needed for our 5 day stay. There were 2 bedrooms with comfortable queen beds. Each couple Had their own bathroom. The owners were readily available if we had any questions. We landed at Reagan Airport & our adventure began in a city that was new to us. We used the metro, bus system, & Uber to get around the city. Our DC home was about 9 blocks from the metro. Buses were available within a block or 2. There was a variety of good restaurants to eat with reasonable prices. A large grocery store was about 7 blocks away. I would highly recommend this place to stay. It made the evenings a great place to crash after a busy day being tourists.

The unit is in the Shaw neighborhood of DC which has a ton of restaurants and stores within walking distance!
It's close to Washington Convention Center (20-30 minutes walk), Studio Theater, Compass Coffee, DCity Smokehouse, and Chaplin’s Restaurant. Shaw Metro Station is just three blocks away and the largest grocery store in DC is within walking distance.

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

This apartment is practically brand new! It took a lot of hard work, but we gutted it out the entire building and renovated the unit in 2012 :) This building is from the 1800's and still maintains some of it's historic features :)! We are extremely proud of this unit :)!!! If you stayed here, you would be close to a lot of amazing restaurants and in walking distance to the DC Convention Center! Can't go wrong!
