This home is private and is located off of a dirt road. Vehicles of any type can make it to this home however if there has been a heavy rain, a 4x4 vehicle is highly recommended. Although large rainstorms in the desert are rare, it is best to stay aware of the forecast during your stay. The best thing to do is to watch the 10-day forecast to determine if rain is going to be a factor for you stay. Hosts will offer flexibility around large rainstorms. * Road improvements are currently planned to add gravel to the lowest/softest part of the road to increase drivability after rainstorms.

The road this house is on extends beyond the house and connects to a network of ranch roads that are fun to hike and bike. Please do not wander off the road as all of the land along the roads are private property.
Please take a moment to ensure your guest count is accurate at the time of booking.

OFF GRID Home: The house is on city electric, however the water supply is rainwater catchment. All members of your party must conserve water to the best of their ability during your stay. Short showers are the best way to conserve water.

ROAD CONDITIONS: The road to Infinite Skies Retreat is maintained regularly, but it may become impassible during and shortly after any rainfall. Except in emergency situations, please DO NOT attempt to drive on Gate 9 Road during wet conditions. Please do your best to be aware of the weather forecast. A 4WD or AWD vehicle is highly recommended. Please obey the posted speed limit of 25mph and use extra caution at night.

FIRES: A fire pit is available for your use; however, there are often local burn bans in effect. Please refer to the public notices on Brewster County’s website for additional information. The provided fire pit is generally compliant for use during basic burn bans, but drier conditions may warrant stricter bans. No other fires are permitted on the property.

Charcoal grills are not permitted.
No fireworks.

PETS: Pets are not allowed at Infinity Skies Retreat.

ACCESSIBILITY: This home has two flights of stairs (34 stairs in total), and no bedrooms on the lower level.

QUIET HOURS: Sound travels easily in the desert. Quiet hours are from 9:00pm until 7:00 am.

EVENTS: We would love to help you host your events, but prior approval is required. Message us with event inquiries!

EXTRA GUESTS: No extra guests are allowed on property beyond the total number of guests that are booked on the reservation without prior permission. Anyone who will be on the property must be added to the guest count and included in the reservation.
We do have an option to add an extra guest fee for guests counts past 11, this covers water usage, trash, laundry, wear and tear as well as housekeeping.
Bringing an RV that is self sufficient? Run these details by us for a custom quote.

NO CONFETTI ALLOWED. There will be a $100 charge for us to clean up confetti.

NOISES: The house is constructed almost entirely of metal. The steel frame means substantial stability during heavy desert winds, but a side effect of this is some expansion and contraction during the heating of the day and cooling of the night. You may periodically hear some slight creaking and knocking noises from the outer frame and upper floor as this occurs. It is perfectly normal and to be expected.
The water pump below the aircraft fuselage will run whenever it needs to supply water to the rest of the house. It is usually just for a few seconds, but it may startle you if you are standing near it.

WATER PRESSURE: This home may appear to have low water pressure, especially when you first turn on a faucet. This is quite normal and is another side effect of remote desert living. It is a result of water tanks being used in conjunction with a pump system to feed water throughout the house. When you first turn on a faucet, flush a toilet, or run any other water, the flow will be limited for 20-30 seconds until the pump automatically kicks in. When the pump kicks in, expect water pressure to rapidly increase. Do not be alarmed at the initial low water flow, and instead consider it an additional method of conservation.
The toilets my produce a gurgling noise after being flushed. This may occur due to air pockets in the water line as the water pump kicks in.

TRAILS: Please remain on marked trails only while exploring the property. A trail map is included with your Guest Welcome Packet. Use of all trails is at your own risk and is limited to hiking only (with the exception of vehicular roads, such as Gate 9 Road). Please note that trails have loose rocks and steep drop-offs, and are not advisable for young children. You must be a guest of Infinite Skies Retreat to utilize hiking trails on the property. Stay on the trails.

HUNTING/GATHERING: Hunting is prohibited on the property, as is collection of any live animal. Please do not dig up or collect any plants from the property, including cacti.

SECURITY: There are two outdoor surveillance cameras on the property for your saftey - one looking up the driveway and one overlooking the parking area. These cameras are not monitored live for you privacy, but footage is available for a very limited time in case of incident.

ALCOHOL/DRUGS: Smoking or drug use of any kind is strictly prohibited both indoors and outdoors. Consumption of alcohol should be in moderation and only for those of legal age. We ask that you refrain from using any trails or roads during, or shortly after, the consumption of alcohol. Please use proper judgement!

DAMAGE/THEFT: Guests are responsible for any damage sustained to the property during their stay – this includes both the house and any recreational amenities, such as trails. Respect the house, the surrounding property, and anything in the house as you would your own, and leave it whole for other guests to enjoy after you. Theft of any kind will not be tolerated and will be treated in accordance with the law.

GUEST ACKNOWLEDGEMENT: By accepting these house rules and booking your stay, you are representing your party as guests of Infinite Skies Retreat for the duration of your stay. I acknowledge that I have read the Infinite Skies Retreat house rules, I further acknowledge that I fully understand each item set forth in this document, and I will ensure my party complies with each item in its entirety.

Late checkouts without prior approval may be billed for an additional night if it interferes with our housekeepers ability to get started on time.

Everything about this stay was perfection. The hosts were helpful and accommodating and really haven't missed a single detail. It's not just a memorable home because of the plane, it's everything from the fully stocked kitchen, comfortable furniture, awesome trails on the property and stars at night. It's also suoer close to Big Bend. We couldn't have been happier with our stay.

The house was great! It was well stocked with plenty of paper goods, toilet paper, paper towels etc and ample bathroom towels and wash cloths. And the host responded promptly when we had questions. The airplane cockpit was a big hit with the kids. They enjoyed sleeping in the bedroom in the airplane. We all loved the night skies. We also hiked the private trail on the property and enjoyed the views. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Wedding Getaway

We had an amazing time at this property. The home is incredible and so well thought of for the renter. Our kids were in complete shock when they walked into a home with an airplane in it. We are an aviation family and loved every minute of it. Job well done!!! We will be back and spread the aviation love to other families!

We chose this property when we visited Big bend national park. This property was excellent and the host was very helpful and responsive. I stayed here with few friends and we enjoyed the property as much as we enjoyed the Big bend national park.

Stunning place to stay close to Big Bend

This property is amazing - a very memorable place to spend my 50th birthday. Very spacious with accommodation over 3 floors- my sons were delighted with the flight simulation and complete cockpit- very cool. Plenty of seating on all 3 levels and outside so lots of options for hanging out and also easily able to give each other space. Great views of the mountains in daylight and the stars at night. Very well equipped- particularly appreciated the wet bar, ice machines and of course the WiFi. A delight.

Wonderfully Unique

During our three-night stay at Infinite Skies Retreat over Easter weekend, our group of eight, consisting of four adults and four children aged 11-13, had a wonderful time. The house's unique feature, the front half of a Boeing 727, was a rare treat. As someone with a passion for commercial aviation, I was thrilled to explore the history and documentation of the 727. On the second day, I chose to skip the group hike to delve into the story of 'Bonnie the Boeing', experience sitting in the cockpit and taking plenty of photos of everything. The living quarters on the third level were equally enjoyable, featuring a well-appointed kitchen and cozy bedrooms and bathrooms. The views from the house, deck, and surrounding areas were spectacular. The retreat's location was conveniently situated near town and within driving distance from Big Bend. Thank you to the owner for sharing this special place with us!

MOST UNIQUE PLACE!

This place is awesome! Looked exactly like the pictures and what a location!! Night sky was the best. It was fun for everyone to sit in the airplane seats to watch the football game. Kitchen is very well equipped and lots of room. I will say, stairs are a challenge, so if someone is not very mobile, it would be difficult. The only thing that we felt was lacking was a proper description of the cargo hold room. Really can't be used for adults. And we couldn't get the simulator to work, but that could have just been us not understanding it fully. All said though, I would not have missed staying here.

Awesome Experience!

Incredibly cool place 20ish minutes from the west entrance of Big Bend National Park. My husband and I, our adult son and daughter-in-law plus 4.5- and 3-year old grandsons, and our adult daughter (5 adults, 2 children total) really enjoyed our stay! There was plenty of space for all. All aspects (including dishes, utensils, cooking utensils, coffee, showers, games, TV, etc.) were top-notch and the airplane, well, that was just out of this world. Our grandsons (and the adults!) really enjoyed that and "flew" many places, including "the cake-pop store" to buy us imaginary cake-pops in our favorite flavors. The road off the highway to the house is a bit rough but doable in a minivan and a Toyota Corolla if you pay attention to some bigger rocks and a few ditches. Sitting on the deck in the evening was relaxing. We could hear the vehicles on Hwy 118 but it was distant and infrequent; we could not hear them from inside the house. Maybe a bit more expensive than other accommodations in the area but very well-worth it for the privacy, relaxation, beautiful skies, and the fun airplane. We were all really glad that we stayed here. Highly recommend!
