Great apartment, great location, perfect host

A fantastic place to stay - thoughtfully furnished and lacking nothing. The neighbourhood is full of decent bars and restaurants but not too noisy. Nathaniel is a wonderful host.

The Best in Bordeaux

We were so lucky to have found this beautiful apartment in Bordeaux. Spacious, spotless and truly comfortable. But the best part about it is the hosts, Nathaniel and Patrice. We were treated as friends and that was an enormous bonus. The wine tour to Medoc with Nathaniel was unforgetably magic and not to be missed. Thank you ever so much Nathaniel and Patrice.

Great Apartment, great location and a super host

The La Monnoye apartment is the nicest one that we have stayed in while traveling. Nathanial went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The apartment is as nice as the photos show. I highly recommend it.

Brilliant spacious apartment, perfectly appointed, well located close to the Garonne and markets.

This second floor apartment was the best of our month in France and must be one of the best privately owned holiday apartments in Bordeaux and perhaps of France. We loved the thought put into both its furnishings and appliances. It feels like a home away from home. In addition the owners are very helpful in ensuring that one is aware of the key locations for a visit to Bordeaux. The apartment’s locality is less than 100m to some of the best restaurants in Bordeaux, and only a little further to a local supermarket and best of all - the Marche des Capucins where all manner of breads, seafood, meats, fruit and vegetables can be found as well as other delicacies. The hosts Nathaniel and Patrice provided maps and cards for a huge range of Bordeaux highlights and a list of their favourite restaurants and markets. Nathaniel also highlighted the best places for us on a reference map when we advised of our main interests. Check with Nathaniel if car touring outside Bordeaux is sought. He chauffered us in a Mercedes to the best vineyards tour we have had in France, together with a tour to Saint Emillion nearby. The tour of the Chateau Reynier vineyard with vigneron Mark Lurton was for us the most exceptional of our many vineyard experiences in France - and Mark’s wines are exceptional as well. We loved Bordeaux as it has so much to offer in this bustling Garonne River city.

Wonderful Host, Location, and Apartment

I've rented a number of places over the years, and Nathaniel was one of the best hosts I've had. It is well located in Bordeaux, and apartment is as nice as pictured, and well provisioned. I recommend spending the 50 euros for the lengthy car service ride to the apartment from the airport, which gives him plenty of time to tell you stuff. Also, we took his private wine tasting tour, and it was very tasty. Highly recommended.

The most beautiful apartment

Nathaniel and Patrice's apartment is one of the most beautiful that we have ever stayed in. From the exquisite furnishings to the incredible sheets and towels, to a kitchen better equipped than my kitchen at home, this apartment could be in architectural digest. Nathaniel and Patrice are amazing hosts. They prepared maps of the entire area....the best bakery, the best restaurants, and anything else that you can imagine. This is a home and you will feel as if you are living in the lap of luxury. Thank you Nathaniel and Patrice.

Perfect apartment in Bordeaux!

We recently spent 4 nights at Nathaniel’s apartment. It was a spectacular experience! The apartment is beautiful and has everything you need, even a wine decanter! Nathaniel is a wealth of information about the area. He is very knowledgeable about area wines and vineyards, which was great because that was why we were in Bordeaux. Highly recommend!

Imagina vivir en la parte vieja de la ciudad, cerca de todo pero donde no llegan ni olores ni ruidos. Imagina un piso que parece del siglo XVI, pero luminoso, elegante, inmaculado y con todas las comodidades del siglo XXI. Estuvimos 4 días muy a gusto en este apartamento mi marido y yo con nuestra hija. Te agradecemos Nathaniel tus acertados consejos y el esfuerzo e interés que pones en que todo sea perfecto.

Beautiful, perfectly appointed and located, and immaculate!

We can’t say enough about our stay at La Monnoye in Bordeaux. The space is gorgeous with lovely art works, it is perfectly clean, the kitchen gave us all we needed to cook meals with gorgeous ingredients from the Marche des Capucins or whichever supermarket you wish to visit on any day. Absolutely all the comforts of home and then some including comfy bathrobes and in suite washer and dryer. We were a week there and would have stayed longer for sure if we could. Thank you Nathaniel and Patrice for hosting us-‘we hope to meet you again some day.

Beautiful apartment, excellent host

La Monnaye is like a movie set. A fully renovated apartment in a 400 year old building. It is filled with beautiful objects, high quality furnishing and has a superb kitchen and a beautiful bathroom. The linens were of the very highest quality and the bedroom and bathroom were both outstanding. A lovely experience.

Super place, location and owner

Eileen and I really enjoyed staying at Nathaniel’s apartment. The place is beautiful and located near everything, but not noisy. Nathaniel is the most organized host and will help you understand Bordeaux and the area. If you are considering coming to Bordeaux this is the place to stay.

Luxurious apartment

This apartment was amazing. Every detail was perfect - beautiful decor, comfortable beds, lots of space for my family of 5, and ceiling fans! Nathaniel made sure we had all the info we needed to see the city during our too-short stay. Great location in historic Bordeaux, close to fantastic restaurants and shopping. We can't wait to return.

Perfect!

Beautiful apartment, excellent location, wonderful owners. I highly recommend this apartment! It is equipped with everything you could need and carefully restored with old and new furnishings. It is lovely and still feels like home. The location can’t be beat. Although you can easily walk almost everywhere, the apartment is close to great restaurants, tram stop, and the river walk, yet it is in a very quiet location. If you are driving into Bordeaux, you can park your car at the secured location - right across the street! We will definitely take advantage of this next time. We arranged to have Nathaniel pick us up at the airport which made it so easy after long overseas flights. The bonus was getting to meet Nathaniel and get some background on the City. He and Patrice have done a wonderful job and certainly set a high bar for the rest of our trip. Thank You!

Even better than it looks!

This apartment looked great online, but when we walked in we realized we had really scored. Nathaniel picked us up from the airport and was pleasant and informative throughout our stay. We splurged on his private wine tour of three elegant winery chateaux, that were informative and dripping with history - and spending the day with Nathaniel was a big plus, learning about Bordeaux and the region. The apartment was very well-equipped, the bed extremely comfortable, and the huge bathtub was a great way to get over jet-lag or a long day of sightseeing. We appreciated the attention to detail, from the tourist information, to the special teas and great coffeemaker, to the tasteful decor. If you are interested in wine - be sure to go to the new wine museum. The apartment is centrally located in the UNESCO heritage old town, with some good restaurants very close, but it was also extremely quiet. Highly recommended!

The perfect home in Bordeaux!

You climb up the 40 250 year old steps and enter a perfectly appointed apartment full of charm and everything you need. Nathaniel and Patrice have a real talent for designing and outfitting a place that you love to stay in. You get a personal welcome and orientation to the apartment and the city. After discussing restaurants, they took care of reservations for us. Towels, linens, furniture, bed, kitchen, everything was top notch. Location was great, very quiet little square and we were able to walk everywhere. Loved that the fresh market stalls were 5 minutes away, with product stalls from many European and African countries. Restaurants nearby also reflected the international ness of the city. Three days this summer, we hope to come back 3 weeks next summer!! Thanks, Nathaniel and Patrice!

Fantastic apartment

This property was immaculate! The owners take great pride in every aspect of it and strive to contiuosly make it better. We've stay in many places during our trip through Europe was is definitely the best retal of all of them! (There were five orchids in the bathroom!) We had a great greeting and introduction from Nathaniel who is happy to talk about the apartment and things to do in Bordeaux. For those concerned about the high security deposit, it was returned soon after we left.

Wineries were excellent yet not happy with Bordeaux, the city

Nathaniel, the owner, was excellent and his home is appointed extremely very well. He is a very warm person who provided a significant amount of details upon our arrival. Thank you very much, Nathaniel. Our congrats to him. Unfortunately, the temperature in Bordeaux during our visit was about 100 degrees (35C) and the apartment had no air conditioning. Too hot! Also, the two flights of spiral staircase were charming but not friendly for walking. Bordeaux, the city, was less than expected and it was very uncomfortable to walk the streets. Yet the time spent on the Right bank (one day) and Left bank (the following day) touring wineries with Henri, Bordeaux Wine Tours, was excellent. This is our first time as VRBO clients and have concluded that we are not going stay at someone's home again. We are hotel individuals.

Fantastic property and fantastic host

Everything about the property was excellent, where it was situated, the size, vacilites, layout, cleanliness. Nathaniel was a great host. He gave us the lowdown on restaurants and shops close by and places to see. He has great passion for his beautiful apartment and his city. We will definitely be back and will recommend to friends.

Stylish apartment in great location

We had 5 nights at the beautiful Monnoye. Very conveniently located, close walk into town, but nice quiet square to come home to. Apartment has all all amenities you could need, although we ate out each night. Lots of local bars & restaurants to walk to. We were also able to take advantage of a secure, locked,parking space across the road, excellent for us , as we had a car full of items. Nathaniel was a helpful, friendly host, with lots of local information available on restaurants, places to visit, wine tours etc. We would be very happy to recommend this property. We had an extremely comfortable stay, in a beautifully stylish apartment.

Fabulous apartment in Bordeaux

The apartment was gorgeous and very well equipped for our needs. Nathaniel and Patrice were extremely helpful with their suggestions for restaurants and what to see and do in Bordeaux. The location of the apartment was very convenient for getting around the city. We highly recommend this wonderful apartment! (If you have a car, be sure to take the garage option - there is very little on-street parking in Bordeaux.)

A wonderful and luxury apartment from a bygone era!

We stayed for a week over Easter 2017 and from beginning the booking in February we had excellent service from Nathaniel!! The apartment was beautifully ready and in a great location. We had champagne and flowers ready as well as an extra and we got picked up and returned to the airport by Nathaniel - this was a first class service. We couldn't fault the apartment at all - very comfortable and perfectly equipped. It is very old and has lots of character but still has all the mod cons and a chic modern feeling mixed into the antiques! It is quite simply luxury! The area is very good as well and within 5 - 10 mins walk you can have everything you want - shopping bars restaurants etc - we walked and never took a taxi as it wasn't necessary. Nathaniel and Patrice are fabulous hosts and they invited us to dinner as it was Easter Sunday so this was a treat as well. Nathaniel has a vast knowledge of Bordeaux and the apartment has plenty of books and leaflets re information on Bordeaux. It was a truly great break for us as Bordeaux is really beautiful and has a lot to offer and our stay was made that much better by having a great place to stay with hosts that couldn't have been more inviting and accommodating. We will be returning at some point for sure. Book it - you will love it!! P.S 5 mins to a fantastic food market, 5 mins to St Michael's Square which was our favourite and 2 mins to 3 of the best restaurants with the best being La Tupina!! Oh also a really good Jazz bar only 2 mins away!

Superb experience

This apartment was one of the best we have stayed in. The location could not have been better, the apartment was extremely well equipped and very comfortable and clean. Nathaniel did everything to make us feel at home and gave us good advice about places to eat etc, he picked us up and dropped us back to the airport which made everything very easy. We didn't book a wine tour with him but in hindsight and if we return I would definitely do this. All in all we could not have had a better host or place to stay, all the best for any future projects. Hilary and Peter

This apartment has stone walls which have two niches carved into them in the dining area. When me and my partner saw that it really sealed the deal for us. The apartment is also very spacious and that makes it easy to move around and enjoy the space with the furniture that we really love.

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

The 9m2 bathroom has to be the biggest plus to this apartment. There is a large claw-foot tub with a large shower. Two people can easy get ready for dinner at a nice restaurant without getting in each other's way.
