Guestbook comments from the owner

We travel quite frequently and have rented apartments in different countries, and out of all places we have seen this one is the cleanest and the best taken care of. It seems that the owners thought through every possible need of their guests, and tried to do their best to please them. The whole house is beautifully decorated, with nice hardwood floors, good size rooms, and comfortable beds. The internet was fast and reliable, and the TV screen is big and bright. There are several supermarkets, pharmacies and restaurants quite close to the apartment, and the subway stations (2) are about 10 minutes away. Wendy is a very warm and kind person who goes above and beyond her responsibility as owner and offers help on sightseeing, activities and provides numerous brochures in the condo. EXCELLENT!!!!!

Comfortable, Clean, and Near Metro

  • 4 of 5

My family of four enjoyed our stay at this condo. Upon our arrival, our host was very gracious and helpful, even though we arrived later than expected and screwed up the deposit (twice) and we were clearly interfering with her evening plans. The apartment has rather steep exterior stairs, which didn't bother us at all. It is comfortable, tastefully decorated, and clean. We rent houses fairly often and I've never stayed in a house that was so organized (brochures, metro maps, instructions for appliances, a bin of condiments in the fridge, etc.). The kitchenware was plentiful and clean. There was a jar of fresh ground coffee on the counter. The metro is a short walk as is a bus stop, a great café, and a street of restaurants. Street parking was free and easy - we got a spot directly in front of the apartment. It's a packed neighborhood, but also very quiet. The neighbors were friendly. The only reasons why I didn't rate it as 'Excellent' are as follows: I thought it strange we were not able to adjust the temperature, which is controlled by the owner. During the day, we were away. We spent our last night rather hot, with all the fans running. Since the deck opens to the bedroom balcony and is accessible from the yard, we didn't feel comfortable leaving the door open in the night. Also, and I recognize this is subjective, I have never slept on a harder bed. The second bedroom is seriously firm, but the Master Bedroom bed feels like a board.

Owner's Response: I`m sorry to hear you had some issues during your stay that I would like to address... I strive to provide a pleasant stay and have always responded immediately to issues that arise during a guest's stay when informed. It should not have come as a surprise that the thermostat was locked, it is clearly indicated in the rental agreement you initialed and signed, as well, right beside the thermostat, the instructions are posted and starts by saying that if you need temperature adjustment to email owner. The night in question was a cool 66 degrees, your 3 night stay was the same average temperature. You are right, everyone has a personal preference and different comfort level. The mattresses are firm, but had you told me, I could`ve provided you with a mattress topper to make you comfortable. No worries about the late arrival, after a lot of ice cream, my son has forgiven me for missing his soccer game. I do appreciate your feedback and thank you for taking the time write a review.

Wonderful visit to Montreal, via Verdun!

  • 5 of 5

Great location, wonderful apartment, close to the metro (Subway). Lots of parks nearby for our kids, and the bike path is also close at hand. The neighbourhood was very quite and lots of shops and restaurants close by. Would stay again, and highly recommend it for anyone going to Montreal, as Verdun is close to downtown without all the noise and rush. Wendy was great, we were well received and the apartment had everything we needed.

Comme à la maison

  • 5 of 5

Merci Wendy.

Excellent Property

  • 5 of 5

The condo/apartment was very clean, well-equipped and there were no surprises. The owner (Wendy) was easy to work with and was very accomodating and went out of her way to book us a cab on our departure date. Wendy met us on our arrival and showed us around the condo and provided us with plenty of information on restaurants, attractions and transportation options. We used the Metro system during our visit, a three day pass was only $18 each and was very convenient and fast to get from Verdun to Old Montreal and other attractions. The condo is in an older area but it is quiet and we felt safe walking from the Metro or from the local restaurants in the evening. There are many restaurants and grocery stores within walking distance. We recommend this property to anyone visiting Montreal and we hope to be back again!!

Best location ! Best hostess ! This rental is top notch

  • 5 of 5

The pictures and reviews are amazing which is what attracted us to this rental. From the first email, communication was extremely easy, booking was done in 10 minutes. The home is spacious for a family or a group and the area is super quiet and safe. A diverse bunch of restaurants in the area and we loved walking along the St-Lawrence river, the scenery is amazing. Public transportation is super easy and close by, we never moved the car during our stay. We were able to sit outside on the back balcony after some great days of sightseeing. Would definitely come back and will not hesitate to refer this home.
