Our time is split between our home in the United States and Valle Escondido. We love the beauty and tranquility of Boquete and the many activities available here. Panama provides a wonderful and interesting complement to Stateside living.
The Owner purchased this house in 2008
Valle Escondido took our breath away and it will do the same to you. From the moment we drove into this valley, we knew we were home. Once we saw all that the community has to offer, there was no doubt that we would want to return again and again and again.
Ease of access to so many stimulating and interesting activities and truly a haven for relaxation.
Enjoying morning coffee on our oversized terrace overlooking the golf course and river below. Walking to the nearby spa for a relaxing swim or workout in the fully equipped gym. Feeding bananas to the exotic and colorful tropical birds off our terrace.
Casa 54 is a lovely house overlooking the valley and stream. If you love watching birds, this is a great house. The owners have two nice bird feeders and two hummingbird feeders on the deck. Just put fruit out, and they will come.
The house is nicely furnished and has a lovely deck. It is very quiet with the calming sound of the rushing creek below. We ran out of propane once and Gloria was right on it. She was very responsive and had that remedied in short time. This house has dehumidifiers which is also very nice. The owners were very nice to work with and always answered our emails immediately. We cooked our meals in and the kitchen had everything needed to do that. This is our 4th time staying in Valle Escondido and this house is one of the best we have stayed in. You won't go wrong by renting this lovely place.
We spent the entire month of August, 2016 in Roberto and Elizabeth's spacious 2 bedroom villa with spectacular views of the valley, golf course and resort. It would be hard to find a setting to match this place. The villa is located just up a short road and easy walking distance from all the activities - restaurant, Pro-shop, resort offices, the gorgeous indoor pool and exercise center and the sounds of the creek running below.
The home is well laid out, spotlessly clean, comfortable beds and furniture, wonderful breezes all day long. Both the master bedroom and the living room are located off a large full balcony affording a wonderful view of sun and golfers way below and spectacular views of clouds periodically rolling down from the mountains. Spectacular landscaping everywhere.
Boquete is a comfortably safe area and Valle Escondido adds an extra layer of security with daily and evening motorized guard patrols and a 24 hour manned guard gate.
The weather in August was spectacular - what a place to beat the Summer heat! Sunny most days in the upper 70s, low 80s, with late afternoon rains maybe half the days, with 60s at night.
The resort below the villa, while close at hand, was not at all noisy. Very peaceful every day and evening.
Valle Escondido itself is an easy walking distance to the town with shops and restaurants or Roberto can provide you with phone numbers for reliable taxis to make grocery shopping or traveling to restaurants a little further away easier.
Gloria, the property manager picked us up at the airport, took us directly to Romero's for some food supplies and then onto the villa. She was a fantastic source for any question or request we presented to her. No question about, from the first day to the last, she made our stay so easy and enjoyable.
Gloria also recommended a car rental for us for the month as we wished to set out on trips beyond Boquete. She helped us arrange the vehicle pick-up and drop off and also arranged periodic (extra charge) maid service we requested - and excellent gal came to tidy up and do laundry each week.
Last, but not least, Roberto is probably the most organized, informative, efficient owner you would ever wish to dealt with. He provides a binder full of info - not overwhelming, just complete info - from facts re Cable TV or internet to small nuances of the house and Boquete. He has Gloria in place for any emergency (we had none) and other good advice.
WE loved our trip to Panama , it is very American & English speaking , so easy to get around and go on tours.
Roberto & Elizabeths house is just perfect, appointed with every amenity, super clean. The porch area overlooks the golf course and has stunning views. The neighborhood is very safe and secure. Easy access to downtown and all restaurants , shops, craft markets.
The sign says "welcome to paradise" when you enter this community…and indeed it is. The house contributed significantly to this perception. It is the most comfortable house we have ever rented and the setting could not be better. Highlights - peaceful and quiet with only the sound of the babbling brook (actually bigger than a brook) and only if the windows are open; extremely comfortable beds…great sleeps; fabulous view of the rainforest, the top of the volcano, the brook and three holes on the golf course; fully equipped kitchen with a superb gas stove/oven; and the birds..oh the birds…while sitting on the balcony we watched a multitude of different birds just ten feet away munching on their breakfast of fruits - six different types of tanagers, honeycreepers, hummingbirds, orioles, and many others..simply wonderful! So peaceful!
Interacting with the owners was a pleasure. We strongly recommend this property.
Thank you for sharing it with us.
This home in Valle Escondido is truly a beautiful place to stay! The layout is wonderful with the living room and master bedroom both opening to a large deck overlooking the valley with the golf course and babbling stream running through it. The beds are very comfortable and the furnishings are very nice. We thoroughly enjoyed putting fruit in the bird feeder and trying to identify all the colorful tropical birds that seemed to just be waiting for us to load the feeder. The grounds are very well kept and the 24-hour guard station ensures the feeling of safety. Roberto was very accommodating and responsive for our special needs and the property manager Gloria was immediately available when any issues arose. We did not experience the issues with ants mentioned in the one derogatory review but we are always careful to keep the counter tops clear of food products when visiting tropical locations. We will definitely stay here in future trips to Boquete!
We experienced a number of challendging issues at the onset of our arrival and throughout our 16 day stay. The home was not opened to air out before our arrival causing an unpleasant moldy smell that lasted for several days. The full service kitchen included a dishwasher, but a notice was taped to the front of the door, advising us not to use it! The worst was yet to come, the counter tops and sink in the kitchen were overwhelmed with ANTS. We immediately reported this to the owner via E-mail, and the response was concerning, the home is in a tropical area and the rain generates ant infestation. We were advised not to leave any food products on the counter and advised that the ants are commonplace. There are stories to be told on the attack of the ants onto our food, but I'll just say we were unable to use the full service kitchen for eating and entertaining for most of our stay, we ate most of our meals out. 14 days into our stay an exterminator arrived. After spraying the perimeter of the home he reported that the ANT nests on the face of the decorative stone were the worst he has seen in a long time. The owner reported that he has the home sprayed every three months, and the exterminator said every month is required if the ants are not to be a problem. I spoke to several neighbors who reported no ant problems. Oh, there were a couple of plumbing issues, neither of which were resolved satisfactorily during our stay. Absentee ownership sometimes invites these problems, but improved property management eliminates these type of unacceptable issues. A request was submitted to the owner for an adjustment on the rental fee, but I do not expect a response. Ask about the issues reported before renting.
This area is a hub for Ecotourism and affords an extensive array of activities such as Jungle Trekking, White Water Rafting, Tropical Bird Watching, Hiking, Kayaking, Jungle Canopy/Zip Line, Coffee Plantation Tours, several Spanish language schools and more.
