Overview

About the property

Lodge, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6-8)

Enjoy a wonderful week or a relaxing long weekend in a rustic Adirondack Lodge.

Our camp was designed and constructed with large open spaces, plenty of glass and natural materials from the adirondacks modeled after the great camps from the late 1800s. We made sure the modern day features enjoyed today and find necessary are also incorporated into the lodge.

Loon Lake and the Loon Lake House was the destination of 3 US Presidents which made it their summer white house in the late 1800s. Many of the NYC old families would come by train and spend the summer swimming and boating on Loon Lake. The NY Central railroad extended the tracks into Loon Lake and constructed a train station for arriving and departing guests.

Today the rail line is used for biking in the summer and snowmachines in the winter. Majestic boathouses built in the late 1800s are now private camps and are still on the shoreline.

Enjoy our large stone wood burning fireplace indoors with plenty of firewood available to help excape, unwind and relax from everyday life. There is nothing like sitting in front of a crackling fire, talking, enjoying an adult beverage.

The lodge is furnished with adirondack and camp furniture. Hickory, oak and pine dining and sitting furniture, along with cedar log beds are used in the lodge rooms. Taxidermy Birds, fish and mammals/animals help set the mood. All are also seen around the area in real life. Large deck with adirondack chairs, dining table, log chairs and gas grill (we provide the propane) look out at Bass lake and the mountains.

Enjoy the screened cottage attached to the deck. Listen to the loons, owls, birds and other wildlife. We have a two person canoe and kayak for you to use along with paddles and PFDs. Boat and swim down at Hodge Bay on Loon Lake a short walk just down the road. Hike or bike the many trails marked in and around the Loon Lake area.

All linens, towels and bedding are provided. We also provide paper products for the kitchen and baths, laundry supplies for the washer and drier and cleaning items for the dishwasher and dishes. The kitchen is stocked with all the pots, pans, dishes and tools needed to prepare a snack or a meal. Microwave, stove, refrigerator-freezer and dishwasher are provided. Washer and dryer are here for your use. 2 flatscreen HD televisions with satelite service, dvd player and a stereo along with wireless speakers are available for your enjoyment. Wi-fi will keep you connected if its necessary. Enjoy your morning coffee out in the screen room as you use your laptop or smart phone to check your email.

Beautiful mountain retreat...

  • 5 of 5

We rented this property to enjoy a few days of peace in the mountains with my parents (4 adults, no kids). I couldn't have been more pleased with the condition of the property - everything was as shown in the pictures. All the kitchen basics were there, there was room for all of us to be comfortable and everyone had enough privacy. The decorations were cozy and rustic. It was a great home base for us to explore the eastern side of the Adirondacks and to venture over across the lake to Vermont. We really enjoyed the remote location - it was tucked away in the woods and so amazingly quiet, yet easy to find from the directions. The upstairs shower is a bit tinier than what we're used to, but the bathroom itself is spacious. My parents seemed to really enjoy the downstairs master bedroom & bathroom. We didn't really make use of the game room downstairs, but it's well equipped and I'm sure would bring lots of fun & entertainment if we had stayed put for an extra day or so instead of running all over the countryside! Alisa was a joy to work with - very responsive, informative and helpful. I would highly recommend that you consider this property for a relaxing Adirondack vacation...

Peaceful, quiet retreat in the northern Adirondacks

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at Moose Lodge! It was a beautiful home, meticulously furnished in the Adirondack style, with no lack of modern conveniences. We used the home as our headquarters as we explored the High Peaks region and always looked forward to returning "home" to relax in front of the massive stone fireplace or in the screened gazebo. Access to a canoe and two kayaks for use on nearby Loon Lake was an added bonus. Highly recommended!

(One piece of advice: On your arrival, do not drive in on the northern entrance of Bass Lake Road, as our GPS foolishly suggested and we foolishly followed. As we soon discovered, it is much better to use the lower entrance, where it is a nicely paved road. It is also easier to read the house numbers.)

Adirondack stay

  • 4 of 5

Loved the home. There was a shortage of towels for bath and kitchen, but otherwise very well equipped. Only negative was lack of view, and not located on lake.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. Our camp is NOT advertised as lake front . The map on the site shows our location across from Bass Lake. The one picture looking out from the deck, was taken in the fall and the lake is visible across the road. We do not attempt to mislead anyone. There are plastic bins in the laundry room with towels, washcloths, kitchen towels and extra sheets. A simple email to us would have alerted you to the available supply. Towels are put out based on reservation information. Your info said 2 adults so the cleaners left 4 towels, 2 washcloths and 1 hand towel. We have a washer and dryer and provide cleaning supplies if you needed to launder the towels provided. Thanks again for picking Moose Lodge for your vacation.

Peaceful week in the ADKS

  • 5 of 5

Moose Lodge is clean, comfortable and well provisioned. Loon Lake is beautiful and we spent much of the week swimming, kayaking and fishing. The owners were always quick to answer any questions that we had. I recommend this rental for anyone looking for a real break from their busy life. Remember to bring groceries. The nearest stores are not right around the corner, but that's kind of the point of staying at a place like this.

Comfortable Home

  • 5 of 5

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at 66 Bass Lake Road! It is a lovely home that offers all the comforts! As the mosquitoes were a bit ferocious, we enjoyed the screened in gazebo. Having two bathrooms was a plus! We all enjoyed the game room!
