We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Loblolly! The house was clean, the view was amazing and the service was Top Notch! The private beach was beautiful and just a short walk away as well. House is also centrally located on the island which made it easy to commute to other areas and restaurants. Would Highly Recommend!

Great vacation over Thanksgiving break!

Beautiful location. The house had so much space and we loved the pool and the use of the tennis court. The house manager (Heather) was super helpful for all our activities and arranging the rental car. Fantastic vacation!

Retirement Vacation

Completely impressed by the facility and services provided by the staff. Colin, our concierge was friendly and very helpful. Dr. Ana not only kept our house pristine but helped us diagnose and treat our occasional bug bites. And Chef Erica was the best and quickly became one of our family each time she cooked for us. The restricted access to the laundry room was at first inconvenient but we quickly adapted and were not bothered. Thanks again for allowing us to rent this wonderful home.

We had three families and were able to enjoy all the amenities at the mahoe facility and loved lovely. Heather was extremely helpful with others on the island work together to coordinate fantastic outings for us and reservations. The grounds in the home we’re beautiful. We will return! Wish we could’ve used the laundry.

Fabulous Senior Spring Break

Candace and Heather were wonderful in helping make sure our group of 5 moms and 9 Senior year high school girls enjoyed our stay at Loblolly. The house was beautifully situated next to Maho Bay and all of us slept well in the air conditioned bedrooms. The big living space and kitchen accommodated our large group well. Heather was instrumental in helping with all needs related to the house and Virgin Gorda itself. We couldn’t be happier.

Fabulous villa

Everything was perfect and the villa far exceeded our expectations. It is well stocked with games/pool floats/everything you could possibly need in the kitchen but the most impressive part was that view from the balcony- simply breathtaking. We enjoyed the beach- By ourselves! It was so quiet and peaceful. The snorkeling off the beach was unbelievable. We’ve never seen such beautiful corals in the Caribbean. There was so much space in the villa, we were never bumping into each other, and with 4 identical master bedrooms, everyone got the enjoy the ample space, huge closets, personal safes, and the favorite- the outdoor showers. Heather the concierge helped us get kayaks for the week and got us in contact with chef Erica who was amazing. She also met us at the dock to help with luggage and car rentals. Thank you for making a long awaited, much needed vacation perfect. We hope to visit again soon.

Retirement Vacation

My family and I spent a full week at Loblolly and it was incredible! The house sort of reminded me of a modern day Swiss Family Robinson home. It was truly so unique. The house is fully stocked with just about everything needed for your stay. But I recommend bringing bug spray to keep mosquitoes away. The beach is a short walk from the house and absolutely beautiful. It’s also a great snorkeling area. There are so many wonderful restaurants on the island as well. We loved Sugarcane, Leverick Bay and Saba Rock the most. CocoMaya had a nice atmosphere but our food came out at separate times with mine being last. It was kind of strange. No one got to fully eat at the time. Special thanks to Heather for helping us with all our needs and Candace for answering all my questions and helping me with recommendations. It was such fun trip!

Heaven on earth

This home could not have been more perfect for our family of 14. We are two seniors, 6 grown children and their families (6 children from the ages of 10 to 25). We all fit in comfortably to the bedrooms, had spaces where we could be with family or have some moments of relaxation away from the group and lots of comfortable seating for meals and games. The pool and pingpong table were big hits with the kids. The kitchen is set up with ample pots and kitchen supplies for food prep. For us, it was especially helpful to have two large refrigerators because one grandchild has celiac so we were able to have a GF fridge and one for general use. The house really was so special for for our group that it was hard to leave the spectacular view and sunsets. Best of all, however, was the ease to get to the Mahoe Bay beach. A quick walk past the tennis courts for community use and onto one of the prettiest beaches we have ever been at. It usually felt like a private beach with excellent snorkeling (despite the loss of corals due to Hurricane Irma). We have had family vacations every few years on St. John but the closeness of this beautiful beach to the house meant no packing the family into cars and driving to different beaches every day. Of course, we went the The Baths once and loved Spring Bay beach, but kept returning to "our beach" where the kayaks we rented took us to some small private beaches nearby for rock climbing adventures. All this was made possible by the owner, Candace, who graciously shared her house and equipped it for families from the toys for young kids, to DVDs, books, games and poker chips for the older ones, and Mahoe Bay manager, Heather, who helped us with last minute car rental changes and getting settled in the house and calmly managed our health concerns when one grandchild tested positive for Covid after a few days on the island. With a bit of scrambling, she was able to isolate and we were able to rearrange sleeping to keep us all safe. Both Candace and Heather were both solicitous and helpful in managing around some delays in arrival and offering to bring us food while we tested to make sure we did not spread this on the island. Virgin Gorda is unlike most of the Virgin Islands--less developed in many ways, which means less traffic, fewer touristy shops and less congested beaches. The island, the house, the help with arrangements resulted in a spectacular vacation, worth the effort to get there! We will be back.

Exceeded All our Expectations!!

I can’t say enough about our experience!! From the beginning, the communication with Candace, the property owner and then the property manager, Heather, they were the most gracious and attentive!! All of our questions and needs were met with kindness and compassion. When we arrived Heather was there to meet us, She had coordinated the perfect rental vehicle for us and assisted us (transporting All our luggage) to the property right at sunset! Wow! What a start. The property was clean and well appointed, everything had been thought of! The maid service was great too, we had many conversations and laughs. Just a couple minutes walk to one of the best snorkeling beaches in the BVIs. We rented a Safari and literally saw the Island from one end to the other and top to bottom! All 13 of us highly recommend “Loblolly” We will return!!

Perfect Tropical Paradise Villa

Virgin Gorda's Mahoe Bay and its long, quiet sandy beach is the most beautiful, restorative, and peaceful ocean living I have ever experienced. Loblolly is perfect - a well-designed luxurious villa. I spend about two weeks at Loblolly every year with wife and family, but it's large enough for several families all at once. There are four idyllic master bedrooms with king size beds and private bathrooms, each with its own outdoor shower, and a pair of bedrooms for kids. The pool is surrounded by a lounging area and all the tropical foliage you could want. When we're in the house and not at the beach, we're almost always outside on the shaded upper patio which is large enough for at least twelve people to lounge, eat, drink, grill, and watch the spectacular sunset over the ocean. There's also a spacious, comfortable great room just inside as well as a very nice kitchen. And you have to experience the beach to believe it's real: quiet, sandy, and beautiful. The water is warm, calm, and crystal clear so the swimming is fantastic, as is the snorkeling along the coral reef where we see parrot fish, squid, and sea turtles just to name a few. Mahoe Bay is near the center of the island, so, via car, we're about ten minutes from anywhere on the island. What else? Management is friendly and always available, and they keep the house looking great all the time. Loblolly is really amazing.

Heaven on Earth

Our stay at Loblolly was everything we had hoped it would be. The house has an ideal layout with the 6 bdrms & 6.5 baths. Bedrooms are not connected to the kitchen/family room so the early birds could be cooking away to their heart's content & not disturb anyone else. Everyone was very happy that each bdrm had its own safe & bath because when you have a crowd of people, you need a crowd of bathrooms. Management and staff were really great, went the extra mile to make sure everything was perfect during our stay. Our arrival was a bit "topsy-turvy" due to the airline charter switching things on us at the last minute but the staff picked up the slack on their end and got us quickly and safely to the house from the airport. We rented 2 cars from L & S Jeep which were at the airport upon our arrival as promised. We just left the vehicles at the airport when we left - made it so easy on us! Mahoe Bay is beautiful with wonderful views & gorgeous sunsets - takes your breath away! The beach is spectacular - white sand with plenty of space for non-swimmers to be in the water and enjoying themselves. Reef is very large, at times you would have only 2" between you and the reef below. It is great for snorkelers as well as my son who did a couple of dives there. My sons dove the RMS Rhone with Dive BVI & really enjoyed both dives on that site. Candy has pool & beach items - all you could need or want. There is even a beach cart to load the chairs, etc. on to take to the beach. Loblolly was so great - no one wanted to leave to go home. Thank you Candy for sharing your lovely home with us - we all enjoyed ourselves so much and hope to be able to return in the near future.

Our family first came to Virgin Gorda in 1995 and fell in love with Mahoe Bay. Building our villa has been a realization of a dream for us. We named the villa Loblolly after the loblolly trees on the property.
