Thank you for looking at our villa. Due to Hurricane Irma we are still not taking reservations. We will let you know when we are up and running.
Tamarind Villa is positioned above Leverick Bay overlooking the beautiful harbor of North Sound. When entering the villa the first thing you think is the pictures just can't do justice to the views. Prickly Pear, Saba Rock, Bitter End, and Moskito are just a few of the islands seen from all different directions of the villa. Yachts of all sizes come and go throughout the day like a parade to watch while sitting on the deck.
An island stone patio and wood deck surround the oval fresh water pool overlooking Mosquito Island owned by Sir Richard Branson. There are pool floats, outdoor refrig, lounge chairs, and shaded areas to relax and unwind.
This beautifully furnished Moroccan-style villa is only a short walk from the beach, restaurants, dive shop, boat rentals, boutiques, spa and grocery at nearby Leverick Bay Resort.
Tamarind's Moroccan-style arches frame the North Sound on large covered patios bordering two sides of the villa. Outdoor dining or just watching the boats go by is a favorite pastime.
The spacious Great Room includes living, dining, and kitchen areas under a natural beamed cathedral ceiling. Cooling trade winds flow throughout the villa, augmented by ceiling fans in every room. Or if you like there is also A/C throughout.
There is a large curved sofa in the living room area. Great for socializing. The room has cable TV, DVD, CD Stereo (w/ iPod hookup) and WIFi..
The Kitchen is defined by a surround bar formed of island stone with granite countertop , includes dishwasher, refrigerator, stove, microwave, coffee maker, toaster and all the dishes and utensils necessary to prepare the finest dinner and cocktail parties while enjoying views of the pool and the Sound.
The Master Bedroom overlooks North Sound from a private patio and includes a king-size bed, private bath, walk-in closet and dual armoires.
Guest room 1 - Queen bed and its own private patio with views of North Sound, reading chair, dresser, closet and cozy corner desk.
Guest room 2 & 3 are across from the pool and offers more privacy away from the main house. King beds and trundle bed provides 3 separate beds for larger parties, ensuite bathroom with glass block showers and independent air conditioning units in each room. These rooms are opened when there are more then 2 couples.
The 5th Guest room has bunk beds for kids/sailors and a dresser.
The villa also has a washer dryer for your use. All linens are supplied.

Thank you! Hope you come back next year. We love the Marina. Free Ferries, boat rentals, shops, make it a boaters paradise. Perfect for Christmas in July.
We loved this house and can't wait to come back!
Everything was perfect and accommodated our group of 8. The house had everything we needed and the views were amazing. Ready to plan my next visit 😎.
So glad you were able to kick up your heels. When you are ready to book again let me know.
Wonderful stay at Tamarind Villa
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Virgin Gorda at Tamarind Villa. The villa had everything we could ask for, it is spacious, comfortable, clean, has great views, large wraparound porch, and pool and snorkeling equipment if needed. We liked the location above Leverick Bay which provided great views and access to the marina, a good restaurant and some nightlife. Our young teenagers made use of the extensive dvd collection in the evening. We rented a car for the week which was necessary to move around the island to enjoy the beaches and the views, particularly Spring Bay Beach and the views from Hog Heaven...just spectacular! The water and snorkeling were magnificent! We definitely plan on going back! Theresa and Jim are great, very friendly and helpful. Thanks for a great stay!
Thank you for staying at Tamarind. So glad you got to visit some of the fabulous beaches and snorkel sites that Virgin Gorda has to offer. Come back soon!
A little slice of heaven
Great location, awesome wrap around deck and pool, fully equipped with everything you will need for your vacation, amazing value. Never had to turn AC on because the amazing trade winds kept us cool and comfortable. You must stay here!!
Thank you for the nice review. Hopefully you can come back again next year.
our stay at tamarind villa was absolutely wonderful. when we arrived, tiina was at the airport to greet us and take us by the store to get supplies. she then took us on to the house and gave us the tour. she was not intrusive at all which we greatly appreciated and she answered the phone immediately and gave great advice when we called her. we have traveled to many islands over the last 15 years and this is the only house that we have stayed in that truly was cooled by the trade winds! I am an A/C gal, and I never once turned it on at tamarind villa. those who know me, know that is saying a lot. my sister and I truly mourned the loss of the feel and sound of that glorious breeze blowing through our rooms at night! the house was also one of the most well stocked houses we have stayed in during our travels. the owners have taken great care to make sure you have what you need for beach time, pool time, and so on. the views of leverick bay from the house are just beautiful and we enjoyed watching the sail boats and yachts come in and out of the bay each morning and evening. it was also so fun that we could hear and enjoy the music and fun going on down at jumbies some nights. we went down to jumbies one evening and it happened that the travel channel was there filming a show about Michael beans the singing pirate. what unexpected fun for us!! we also loved watching the beautiful hummingbirds, bananaquits and the pearly-eyed thrashers that stayed around the house and pool. we were amazed when we put out sugar water as suggested by the owners. the bananaquits just flocked to it. so fun to watch and to video! this was our second visit to beautiful virgin gorda and I don't know if we will get back there again as we have so much more to see and explore, but if we were to go back...we would definitely stay at tamarind villa. thank you so much for the use of your wonderful home!
don, tammy and dee
We'll be back
What can I say, our stay here was perfect. Theresa met us at the ferry and showed us to the house. The house is well appointed and stocked with everything one would need for an island vacation. The views are fantastic, the pool was refreshing, and the trade winds made it never necessary to use the AC. I was worried at first about staying on the North Sound, but the island being so small, the drive is part of the overall charm. Being right above Leverick Bay was also a great resource. A store with a great selection of food and drink choices, 2 restaurants, outdoor bar, and a free water taxi to Saba Rock.
Thanks for staying at the villa. When you come back you will have to try some of the other free ferries to other parts for North Sound. The Bitter End Yacht Club has a wonderful Sunday brunch with bottomless Mimosa's, The YCCS yacht club is now open to the public and has a Thursday night BBQ that is over the top. Biras Creek great hiking trails - try the one to Lovers Leap then go have cocktails at the beach bar where the palapa's have cocktail flags you can raise to signal its time for a refill.
Virgin Gorda is second most populated island in the British Virgin Islands with a population of approx 3,300. The island is long and narrow (9.9 miles long, 1.8 miles wide at it's widest part = 8.1 square miles). Between 1680 and 1743 the island was the capitol of the British Virgin Islands and at it's peek had a population of over 20,000 people (mostly slaves working the sugar plantations). There are still many Ruins located on the island that make an interesting side trip if you like archeology. Best sites on Virgin Gorda are: Little Fort National Park (Fort Point behind Coco Maya restaurant), Coppermine Point, Long Bay Plantation (steps to nowhere), Nail Bay Windmill, South Sound.
