This recently remodeled historic home built in 1907, has 2 1/2 ceramic tile baths with jettedtub. Central a/c and heating plus window a/c in some rooms. A gas heater is in the entertainment room.

It sleeps 11 people in 5 bedrooms, One double size bed and two queens plus 3 twin beds and a bunk bed twin. Two downstairs couches sleep two additional guests. 13 total.

It is one short block to the beach and Seawall Blvd. at Murdochs Pier and then 2 blocks west on Seawall to the new Pleasure Pier. The Galvez hotel is 1 block east. Many of Galveston's most popular restaurants (Guidos, Fish Tales, Salt Grass, Bernardos' at the Galvez, Spots, plus many others are within a few blocks) and the house is on the bus line.

The amenities include wireless internet and satellite TV and radio cd player, out door gas grill, game room, library, Wii 2 sunroom.

The home has hardwood floors throughout and ceramic tile floors in the kitchen and bathrooms.

The big front porch is great for socializing and generally has a pleasant breeze.

Birthday Trip

My family and I rented this home as a way to celebrate my 30th birthday; there were 8 adults and 4 children. The home was very spacious and we never felt cramped or lacking personal space. The layout of the home is exactly as the owner shows in the layout and we were able to sleep 12 people easily. The home was built in the early 1900s and has all the charm that you would expect in an older home. The kitchen and bathrooms have been remodeled but the house still has an historical feeling to it and the wooden floors creek in places like you would expect in an older house.

It rained off and on during our stay but it didn't detour us from enjoying the beach which is literally a block away. The front porch was a huge hit with my family and I think we spent more time out there than in the house itself. The sea breeze can be felt from the porch and you can see all kinds of seabirds which my father really enjoyed. The game room and the bunk beds in the adjoining sunroom were a huge hit with the kids and provided them with things to do as the adults prepared dinner in the large open kitchen. As it was NBA playoff season, the guys also enjoyed the 42" TV in the dinning/entertainment room and the gas/charcoal grill in the back yard. The shower in the downstairs bath is perfect for rinsing sand off when you come back from the beach and can be accessed easily by the back door without dragging sand throughout the house. The upstairs bath has a jetted tub which the kids and adults both loved.

There is a small grocery store and liquor store just a block west of the house and was great for picking up things we forgot. If you would like souvenirs, Murdoch’s is just a block away on the beach. We also enjoyed a trip to Moody Gardens, shopping at The Strand, a banana boat ride at 10th & Seawall and took the free ferry over to Port Bolivar and back (and yes we did see dolphins!). We didn't have enough time to enjoy Pleasure Pier but it was easily within walking distance.

The owner was so helpful in answering any questions I had and provides a very detailed list of things to know about the home upon checking in. He was always accommodating and quick to respond to my emails. I would also like to add that the home was extremely reasonably priced for the location and amount of space provided and I would definitely recommend to friends, family or anyone looking to have a great time in Galveston.

A House Full

Nice old Galveston home. This home is in a great location close to Stewart Beach or the Pleasure Pier, & only two blocks from the beach. Lots of great eateries close by. The house is old Galveston and has plenty of room for a family up to 12 or 13 people. My family and I had a great stay!

Family Summer Vacation 2017

Highly recommend this home... totally loved our stay here this past week. Rooms are spacious very comfortable beds, house was very clean! Loved the Porch! Everything you need is available! Enjoyed our evening walks to Murdochs, Pleasure Pier, and the Shops on Seawall! Will hope to return next year! Very beautiful home!

Great house/customer service, not clean.

Very beautiful house, spacious, ton of character. Just off of a main road but still very quiet. My family and I stayed in this house with 7 adults, 3 babies, 4 kids and there was plenty of room for all of us. We absolutely loved the house, especially the location. Very quiet and relaxing. You can walk or take a quick 5 min drive to all the essential places.

The only complaints we have were the cleanliness and upkeep of the place. It isn't being taken care of very well and we had to clean everything. Not exactly what you want to do while on vacation. We had to clean the bathrooms, mop the entire first floor, and wash all of the linen (I had pet hair all over my comforter). We complained about it to the owner. He responded to us very quickly and came over to check it out. He said that the floor wasn't dirty and it was just the floor stain coming off onto our feet but it was visibly dusty and dirty. But he was very nice and refunded us a small amount for our troubles. After we mopped everywhere it was a huge difference. The furniture was dirty under all the cushions, one of the dining chairs has a huuuge hole in the seat with just a cushion covering it, and everything in the kitchen looks like it had been sitting in storage for months and hadn't been washed in forever. Everything was icky and dusty. The walls are dirty/stained/in need of new paint and while there is plenty of beach equipment to use, its all just thrown on the side of the house and dirty and gross. Would probably be better if they were at least put in storage bins. I didn't want to dig through it and have to rinse it all off to use.

With all of that being said. We loved the house and appreciated the awesome customer service. Just needs someone younger (no offense to the owner :/ ) with more attention to detail to manage it and make sure it is up to hotel-like standards. Even though we had to clean I would consider renting again.

Omg we loved it. We have so much fun. The house fitted my family just right. It was 16 of us. The beds sleep good. Just enough bathrooms, lol big kitchen great game room.

Great location for walking to beach!

My family of 9 had a wonderful time. We loved the updated house! Due to a broken ankle, my husband and I chose to sleep on the 2 sofas downstairs and were very comfortable. Everyone said their beds were comfortable and we loved sitting on the front porch....we were fortunate to have a great breeze!
