Stunning 6Bedroom Lakefront Lodge on Beautiful Lake Wabaunsee-WiFi,Blackstone,AC
***** Brand-new for '26 ******: * Full-size Blackstone griddle (outdoor) * 5 Burner Gas Grill * Tandem (2-man) Kayak * Multi-room wireless stereo (including patio/firepit) for effortless streaming of music from smart phones & devices
Prepare your family for a secluded lakeside retreat that will turn your get-together into the cherished memories of a lifetime! Our spacious home (6 BR including 2 enormous Master Suites w/ private Baths, 4 FULL baths, dining for 18, 2750 sq ft) is tucked into the majestic surrounding bluffs of beautiful Lake Wabaunsee in the rolling Flint Hills of Kansas, with access to the lake & dock mere steps from the sprawling back deck and patio firepit. The breathtaking scenery and rustic, at-your-own-pace vibe of Wabaunsee Lake will prove itself addictive to anyone lucky enough to spend time here. And once you've experienced even a few days in this magical get away, you'll be hooked! -- Recreation options ABOUND here: for starters, boating, swimming, fishing, kayaking, or paddleboarding - all from the spacious double-size dock (with diving board) just down the steps from the house (our dock is in one of the lake's 'No Wake' zones so we don't have to deal with large waves while swimming or have to worry about boats/sea-doos zipping by at high speed)- enjoy a serene outing on the 11' paddleboard (harder than it looks!), lounge & cavort a bit with the kids on the spacious lily pad, or just relax & chill with an adult beverage from the shaded deck table & many lounge chairs; golfers can take on the challenging hillside links at highly rated Wabaunsee Pines golf course just a 4 min golfcart-ride away; for the fitness gurus a walk/run around the lake is 5.1 miles and provides fantastic views of the lake and surrounding Flint Hills (a breathtaking view in fall); gamers will enjoy competing in a game of Washers in the yard, or ping-pong in the palatial 2nd floor game-room/loft (w/ large flat screen TV), and for the less adventuresome - an afternoon snooze in the backyard hammock (w/ lake view), watching your favorite sports team on the 75" flatscreen living room TV, or perhaps just taking in the bird's-eye view of all the lake activities from the back patio or firepit might be the best way to soak up the incredible Zen of our lakeside hideaway. An added bonus for the birdwatchers of the world is our very own Bald Eagle family that nests just across the lake on the Northwest corner of the lake - fall and winter is the best time to catch sightings of these beautiful birds soaring on the cool fall/winter thermals in the area. -- In the morning - feel free to sleep-in late in any of the 6 spacious suites (4 with in-room smart-TVs), OR get up early to enjoy the sunrise view from the sprawling 2nd floor deck off either Master bedroom while enjoying a piping hot cup of coffee. For the workaholics among you (sigh...) - there's a convenient corner desk & chair in the secondary dining room sized perfectly for laptop/writing use. -- For dining - you are in BBQ Grillmaster's HEAVEN - enjoy use of the fully-stocked kitchen as well as the 28" Blackstone and any one of the 3 BBQ grills on the patio, (2 charcoal and one monster gas grill) with comfortable indoor seating for up to 20 and outdoor (covered) patio seating for 10-12. For evening entertainment, a crackling fire in the oversized firepit provides the perfect ending to your day - ideal for smores, stargazing, an evening nightcap, and of course jokes and storytelling (ghosts not included).
For those with adventuresome culinary interests, there are great dining options close by as well, starting with the Wild Olives lakeside grill/restaurant just across the lake at entrance, along with mouth-watering burgers at HellRazors in Harveyville (15 m), authentic Mexican dining at El Corral in Alma (15 m), and last but not least, the down-home cooking at Hilda's in Eskridge (4 m). For those interested in renting canoes/kayaks for exploring the lake, there is a rental company just 4 miles away in Eskridge at Hidden Adventures (https://hiddenadventuresks.com) - phone 913-609-0519.

For weather planning guidance for Lake Wabaunsee refer to below summary to help ensure your family get-together is everything you want it to be..
August: can be quite hot & humid (campfire may not be desirable) September: cooling a bit and more comfortable, w/ water temp still great for swimming October/Nov: my favorite time of year! Optimal temps in this period - think 'fall football'... water has cooled but still fine for enthusiasts. Fishing will pick up a bit with the water cooling off from summer highs. Dec: a magical time at the lake - not too cold yet and still usually some great late fall weather. Lake is quiet and extremely enjoyable for those wanting a less frantic stay at the lake. Jan-March: for the die-hards, but actually extremely satisfying for those cold-weather enthusiasts who enjoy a quiet, serene lake-setting and warming up in cold weather to a crackling campfire. April/May: Warming up and can be some of the most enjoyable weather on the lake, with the benefit of less traffic from other lake visitors. Fishing will be warming up at this time in the shallows. June/July: the summer sweetspot - heavy lake traffic but absolutely the quintessential time for summer lake outing.

About the host
Hosted by Steve Griffith
We've enjoyed this magnificent lake house at Wabaunsee Lake for years and recently decided to share this unforgettable lakeside setting and make it available for others to enjoy when we can't be there ourselves. This is truly a family-focused home with every amenity tailored for families like ours that enjoy the outdoors and the breathtaking beauty that will make your family outing a true memory of a lifetime.
Why they chose this property
The flint hills and specifically Lake Wabaunsee operate on a true lake-life vibe: relaxed, & low-key, good people, no-stress/no worries, and a 'breathe in and enjoy every minute' type setting. Though you may not be lucky enough so sight any celebrities at Lake Wabaunsee (rumors of Taylor Swift sightings are unconfirmed), this is just a really relaxing way to spend a few memorable days of relaxation. BTW - if you're looking for spa-like amenities/services, or a New York condo-type setting - this is NOT where you'll find it!
