Beach Front and Pool, romantic ambiance.

Bienvenidos - Welcome! We are so happy you found us...which means you also found Casa Campanitas! We have been so very fortunate to have had a piece of heaven in Casa Campanitas which we have used as a place of respite two to three times a year for 30+ years.

We are now in our 80s and are no longer able to travel. We are therefore sharing our calendar to invite those of you who would also enjoy Casa Campanitas, its great location, and all Puerto Vallarta has to offer. Take a look at our place on VRBO and let us know if you have any questions. Be advised we have 30 stairs/steps to and from our door to the road with for switch back stairs starting at our door that go down to the beach (it's how we go to town or use the road sidewalk coming back). Our location can't be be beat. We have a super property manager (see our reviews), So "stay with us". You won't be disappointed.

For the price of a hotel room, you can relax in an ocean-paradise vacation condo with its unique architecture, just steps down to the beach on the edge of Old Town Puerto Vallarta. No need to rent a car. The condominium is conveniently located close to all that Puerto Vallarta has to offer. Book today to enjoy our spacious 1600 sq ft of condo and our terrace with pool. 'The pictures don't do it justice!' is a frequent comment.

Great property!

This is an amazing find! Right on the beach, a pool, great location. I will say that this is not a good place for folks with mobility issues as there are many steps to get to Playa de los Muertos, but if you're able-bodied it's great exercise to walk off all those margaritas! We loved it here, excellent communication with the owner and the lovely Lupita, a great location for exploring PV. Being able to hear the waves every night was just amazing. A great place if you're with a chill group. Thank you!

Large totally open air apartment situated right above Almar pool deck/bar area...music was always kept reasonable, though we were there off season in October. AMAZING view from kitchen/dining area and viewing platform 1/2 way up the 34 steps to road :)

Fun Stay!

We had a great time! It felt like we had our own private pool. The location was great! One of the mattresses was not comfortable. The club on the beach played loud music until 8:30pm.

Perfect get away

This place was gorgeous and the views were stunning, (sunsets and fireworks) the place had plenty of space for 4 adults and the pool was just wonderful to have it to ourselves the entire time. Roger was really nice to chat with and has kept up the property. The walk into two in was not terrible and was nice after a meal. I would recommend this place anytime!

Traditional Mexican OpenAir ClassicWe were a group of 5 adults, aged 40 - 68, one with a recent knee injury and 2 with arthritis knee & hip issues. Staying here was very challenging with the unit being located about 30 steps down to the unit from the access street and another 40 or so steps down to the street nearest to the beach.

Comforts of yesterday

Kind of an old world gem found in the middle of everything that is changing around it. It’s great to find places that are managing to retain the older housing style making the stay more authentic. Being able to listen to the ocean all night it’s just an amazing experience.

Wonderful & Relaxing

My wife and I stayed at property for a full week. The open air concept was great with beautiful weather and ocean breeze and sound of the waves crashing. Close to everything by foot, and also taxis are more than ready to drive you too. Price on cab fares very reasonable. Looking forward to our next trip here, owners were very responsive & helpful too. Unique open air classic

This place might not be for everyone with no windows or screens but the 6 of us thought it was great. Lots of open space, walk right out to a huge patio and pool with new furniture. Nice partial view of the ocean for whale watching and people watching. It has its share of stairs to the beach like so many other places in the Romantica Zone. It’s a 5 min walk to the action that makes PV so popular. The nightly rate is cheap for 1600 sq ft 3 beds 2 bath.

Unique, great location and view

We loved the views, the sound of the ocean, the fresh breeze, and location. Thank you for being so accommodating with storage of our luggage. Some ideas for improvements: The master bed (very hard/could feel springs) and many of the plumbing fixtures could use updating. Many of them leaked, broke, or were difficult to use during our stay (although they were repaired quickly).

Great View

Clean & peaceful, except when nearby construction was going on. I love Mexico! But............there is always some type of construction going on. Housekeeping was great & we felt very safe & secure. The floor plan was great for privacy. We were a group of 5 women in our 60s & 70s. The stairs to the beach were a bit much for a few of us. This place would have been a favorite to rebook when we were 20 years younger.

Great Stay

We had a great time! Karen was very attentive to a concern we had and we appreciated that. The open air concept had us filled with fresh air, but if you get sick and have to spend time at the condo during the day there is no way to escape the noise from construction, other neighboring vacationers, and the club music next door! But there is a fan in one room that does a good job at drowning out the noise if it gets to be too much. thanks karen and jim!

Lovely old-style condo with great views in Zona Romantica

Loved the feel of this brick and tile open-air space that looks out to the Bay and beach, the Pier and beyond. The condo is spacious and comfortable. The private pool was lovely after a day of exploring. Access to the beach, the Malecon and restaurants is via the public access steps (many) next to building or the cobblestone road ( can walk or easily take a taxi or Uber) that will take you to where you want to go —there is lots to see and do here. It can get noisy with music from the next door Hotel at night on weekends. Music would generally stop by 11pm except for holiday special events . Overall, a great stay!

Very authentic experience. Could use some updating and some TLC. Lights with spliced and taped wires, needs dusting and throwing out of old, bug eaten books no one would read. Beds are too low and could use higher mattresses. One side of the villa could use shutters to keep the wind out. Having listed all the downsides the stay was overall good… just little things that would make more appealing but if you’re looking for authenticity this is it! No shortage of seeing whales and dolphins all day every day! Area is so safe with all kinds of great restaurants a short walk away!

Frances, Thank you for taking the time to review our property. We have already made arrangements to have the wiring handled immediately. We love the open air and and understand the maid needs to be on top of things... the dust from construction in the area requires extra attention, and our property manager has already dealt with the "insufficient attention". Watching the sealife is a thrilling experience....manta rays "flying" close to shore, California dolphins in the bay and spouting and sounding whales are amazing. We hope you will return some time soon and enjoy all that Puerto Vallarta and Casa Campanitas have to offer!

We, Karen and Jim, have lived just outside of Seattle for over 40 years. Because we are both still working, we can visit Casa Campanitas only twice a year and did not want to waste our pearl by the sea, so we decided to share its amazing ambiance and location when we are not able to be there.

Why they chose this property

Over 20 years renting with glowing reports back....including multiple exclamations of 'the pictures don't do it justice!' We fell in love with Casa Campanitas the minute we walked in the door when looking for a vacation property in 1996 ...the charm of the Old World Architecture, and the location were unbeatable, a combination we saw in no other properties. Every time we stay, it is better than I remember, even after all these years.

What makes this property unique

This condo is a true find. It has three bedrooms, a great location at the beach and a pool on the terrace level right out your door, open-air rooms with the brick and arches Old World Charm– ambiance that is becoming a rarity as high-rises and modern condos and hotels take over. Casa Campanitas is definitely a marvelously unique experience.
