  • Family fun in PV

"We had a fantastic one-week stay in Puerto Vallarta thanks in large part to the great facilities in our Bay View Grand penthouse, where we enjoyed wonderful dinners on the expansive terrace while taking in the inspiring view. Our group was composed of two families and included three kids ranging in age from 11-14. The condo was plenty comfortable for all of us, and the amazing array of infinity pools was a big hit with young and mature alike. I think we took a dip every single day of our stay. The condo complex is large but did not feel crowded, partly because it is spread out over seven buildings but also because the connecting pools cover so much space. There are also two tennis courts and a well-appointed gym for those who want to do more than just lay by the pool. You could also play on the beach just beyond the pool, and we went body-surfing one day, but the water is not nearly as clear as in the Caribbean, so we opted for the pool instead. All the facilities are immaculately clean and supervised by security. One of our favorite activities was taking the 10-15-minute walk to the marina, which offered a variety of restaurants and shops, as well as a lively outdoor market on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We must have gone four or five times altogether. We also ventured out to less-touristy areas, including a nearby town called El Pitillal where we found some terrific seafood markets, countless shops and a plaza where they sell homemade tamales early in the morning (till 9) and in the afternoon starting around 6. You won't find them anytime in between. It takes a $5 cab ride to get to the town. Of course, we also explored Puerto Vallarta and all its wonders, including a casual restaurant called Mariscos El Guero where they make some of the best fish ceviche and smoked marlin you'll ever taste. In our PV meanderings we discovered an excellent tequila called Arrete that's not imported to the U.S. It was smooth as silk and cost just $11 for a bottle of the anejo. It was terrific find, and one of the many pleasures of our vacation. A special shout-out to Fernando, the property manager, for his prompt service on our requests -- particularly the deliveries of bottled water -- and to owner Steve Roberts for his easy accessibility and willingness to honestly answer all our questions. They helped make our trip a memorable experience."

  • A spacious, quiet condo in a well maintained complex

"This is a very, very large 2 bedroom, 2 bath condo in a large 4 building complex. It is on the 2nd floor, an easy walk up with the bonus of a 2 person elevator. The unit is well furnished and the master bedroom king sized bed is new and very comfortable. All of the linens appear new and are high quality. Both bathrooms are large, with walk-in shower stalls for you and your friends to share. The kitchen has been completely updated with filtered water at the sink and as part of the freezer ice maker. There is enough storage and cabinets to the extent that after several weeks we were still discovering new goodies. The unit has an extra large covered patio and is a delight to spend time out there. There is a large screen TV in the living room with Netflix on demand and YouTube, but no cable TV, so no broadcast channels. The grounds are immaculately maintained and the mature landscaping is very colorful. The large pool area was never so crowded as to not easily find a lounge chair. The window treatments and the blinds need to be replaced and the property manager told us that this will be done."

  • Fantastic family vacation

"My husband and I along with our two young kids (ages 2 and 5) are just back from a weeks stay. Velas Vallarta is a lovely resort with immaculately kept grounds. Pools are gorgeous and the beach is great. We didn't do all-inclusive and thoroughly enjoyed grocery shopping and trying out some street food and restaurants in PV. Especially liked Pepes for tacos and Andrigos food stall. If you rent from Sheryl you are treated like a member. You get free drinks during happy hour each day. We got 20% off excursions and food purchased on site. And the food is reasonably priced to begin with (for a resort). Excellent service - smiles from everyone. We did a few exclusions - el malecon, the flea market etc but mostly stayed at the resort where our kids were very happy in th pool, at thdaycare beach, feeding the fish, looking for iguanas and peacocks etc. one comment is that the kitchen has the basics but isn't stocked with spices, oil etc which rentals often are. Also no oven although it's not a problem - who wants to cook with so much delicious food around! Last but not least, Sheryl was great to work with. Prompt at replying and very willing to help out."

  • Amazing Property

"This is a wonderful vacation villa if you like nightlife, golf, beach activities and great dining options all within walking distance. The villa is nicely appointed and a great value compared to many other options I have visited in the area. The owner is very responsive and accommodating."
