Luxury Cabin on the Kern River with Beach as your Backyard!

This riverfront cabin in Kernville has everything! The backyard is the river with a beach area, hiking, fishing, rafting, tubing, skiing, horseback riding, or just sit in the river with a beer and some friends! With sleeping space for 10, there is ample room for groups and families. Lake Isabella is 15 minutes away for added fun! Premium cable, high speed internet and wifi. 3,000 sq ft of living space and newly remodeled with a gourmet kitchen, giant bathrooms, an outdoor rain shower, and very comfortable beds, there is no other rental in the area that has these amenities and a sandy beach right out the backyard.

Two large master suites, both with sliding glass doors onto a huge second story balcony for star gazing and morning coffee. Third guest bedroom has a queen bed. There is a triple bunk bed with a full size mattress on the bottom. Additional sleeping space includes a 15' indoor teepee with a custom mattress; sleeps 2 adults or 4 children. There is lots of extra space for air mattresses as well; one full and one queen air mattress there with complete linen set for your use. Extra large Juvee pack n' play is provided. All bedrooms have luxury linens and lots of pillows. The bathrooms all have large walk-in showers with river rock detail and are stocked with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Small kids nook upstairs is stocked with books and toys. Whether you are looking for a base for daily outdoor adventures or a quiet nature retreat, this LUXURY cabin has something for everyone.

The cabin has been lovingly remodeled and has exclusively been used by family previously. It is immaculate and stocked like a family home with everything you need from spices, cookware, folding chairs, towels, shampoo and soap, etc... In the giant pantry there are growlers from the local brewery that you can take down and have filled. There is a separate beverage/wine fridge. Stocked cupboards including coffee, creamer, and sugar... Just in case you forget! Most condiments and cooking essentials are already here and for your use.

NEW: The downstairs patio area has a new patio set with seating for six and a propane fire pit. There is also a brand new propane grill. High speed internet and WIFI enabled, plus cable channels, Starz and Showtime. Mountain internet and cable service can be spotty, please understand this before booking. If you must have internet at all times, the mountains might not be the best place for you.

The Area: Kernville is 5 minutes down the road and has lots of shops, bars, and eateries. Most holiday weekends there is a festival going on in the center of town with food trucks and local artisan vendors. There is also a community park right on the river with lots of grass, picnic tables, basketball court, and playground. There is a binder in the cabin with activity brochures, hiking maps, and restaurant menus, along with other miscellaneous information about the area.

Lake Isabella is a fisherman's paradise with competitions happening regularly. Swimming, boating, jet skiing etc... There are jet skis and boats for rent at the dock.

The Pacific Crest Trail is right down the road. The Kern River Brewery is in town and has some amazing beer - try the Sequoia Red!My favorite hike to a small waterfall and slide rock is 20 minutes up the road. The Trail of 100 Giants is 30 minutes up the road, a must see if you have never seen the giant Sequoias. Alta Sierra, the local ski resort, is less than thirty minutes away and is very fun in the winter.

I am familiar with many hikes and unique things to do in the area and am more than happy to answer any questions. This has been a magical place for our family and we want our guests to love it too!

My parents purchased this property after we fell in love with the area during a rafting trip. It has been a slow-going labor of love to remodel it and make it what it is today. Many treasured family memories have been made here and we hope your family will make some here too.

Amazing property and amazing owners!!!

I've been coming to Kernville since I was a child and this is the most beautiful rental I've ever been to. It had literally everything I could possibly need which made the trip even more relaxing. Working with the owner was easy and they were kind and quick to respond to any question I had.

My family and I have decided that this is our new home away from home and we will be back!!!

A wonderful place to stay!

We had a recent mini vacation-all three generations of the family enjoyed our stay. Absolutely perfect. We've rented quite a few vacation rentals as we preferred them over hotels, and this definitely ranks among the few top ones on our list. A few things we really enjoyed: kids having a great time in the water, evening dining in the back porch, listening to the birds and frogs from the river below, beautiful lighting from the sunset. Great combination of clean, modern, with a touch of whimsy. We were especially delighted with the attention to detail to amenities. Thank you for a wonderful time!

I want to start off by saying the actual rental and location were great. My criticism is against the professionalism and timeliness of the property manager's communication, along with the dishonest practices demonstrated after the trip.

I rented this unit and paid for everything in February, but the property manager Tianna did not send me any messages or documentation about the rental until I was less than 2 hours away from the rental. Everything worked out in the end and I was able to enter the rental, read the rules/regulations, and begin my stay.

After the trip was over, I was charged an additional large sum for damages to the stove top and oven, though there were no damages when I left. Though I dispute the damages, prior to the trip I had purchased an additional damage protection insurance to cover for any accidental damages, yet the owner, Kenny, originally refused to make a claim because he felt he didn't have enough evidence as proof. He finally agreed to make a claim, but that he would not be sharing with me any of the evidence of the damages. To make matters worse, I had a refundable security damage deposit (which was more than 20% of the total rental cost) that I was told would not be returned and instead would be used to cover additional cleaning costs. This is on top of the additional cleaning fee that was charged in the original price. In conclusion, the property manager/owner can potentially claim a large amount through the insurance, keep my security deposit, and is trying to charge me an additional amount. I am still in the process of defending my claim and there is a strong possibility this ends in a civil small claims suit.

I strongly do not recommend this place! The headache alone from trying to get my money back or to ask for proof of damages has made this the worst experience I've ever had.

Owner's Response: It’s these kind of guests that make homeowners leery of renting out the vacation homes they love. The damage done to the property and the additional cleaning fees that the owners have incurred from this group are substantial. Not to mention the time and effort it takes to make repairs, coordinate specialized cleaning, file claims, etc... We make it clear on our website that our home is well cared for and not a party pad for a group to trash. It is regrettable that a guest would purchase an additional insurance policy, thinking this then liberates them from any liability and they are free to disrespect the property in any way they wish with no ramifications. I believe every other positive review and the fact that we have never before had to hold a security deposit in its entirety speaks to our integrity and honesty. Our reputation speaks for itself. Let this be a warning for any group looking to book a party place, we have neighbors we respect with enforced quiet hours and we will not tolerate damage done to our property. We make every effort to make sure our home is exceptional for our guests and we expect a certain level of respect to our property in return.

We do require a rental agreement that lists all members of the party. For identification verification, we require a copy of the renter's drivers license. We strictly enforce the payment terms for the number of guests; if additional guests are on the property DAY OR NIGHT, the fee will be taken from the security deposit. The rental agreement form will be emailed to you once property is booked. ABSOLUTELY NO GROUP EVENTS DAY OR NIGHT.

Owner's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund if canceled at least 14 days before arrival date.
  • 100% refund if canceled at least 30 days before arrival date.
  • Service Fee fully refunded on cancellations that qualify for 100% refund.
