The Good-The apartment is in a great location within easy walking distance of Main Street. It is clean and reasonably well-equipped The Bad-you can hear everything from the people staying in the apartment above-every footfall, every toilet flushThe Ugly-When we checked in it was 56 degrees in the room. As the thermostat didn't cause any change in temperature, I called the host for help. She suggested that the gas fireplace alone would heat the whole apartment in less than an hour so that is what we should use, at least until the central heater might begin to work. When I told her that the unvented fireplace's unburnt fumes gave us headaches, she exploded into a rage and began screaming at me. Then a different host, a man, came on the line and said we should wait an hour to see if the central heating system would fix itself. I didn't see how that would be possible, but agreed to wait an hour. We did, and...surprise!, no, the heater didn't fix itself. To his credit, when I called back the host did arrange for repairs to be made that evening while we were eating out, and when we returned the heater was working. The low review is not so much for the problem as for the way it was handled.
