Very clean! Little extras like coffee and sound machine. Also, cameras outside and locks made us feel very safe.

The apartment was supposed to be to sleep 7, but only had beds for 4. I thought maybe the couch opened, but it did not.I found a spoon and lots of crumbs under the caution when I looked to see if it opened. Was not as clean as we expected. The cleaning fee was way too much especially when asked to remove trash yourself. The rugs were not safe. A tripping hazard for people. My cousin and myself both caught our feet on them.

Thank you for your feedback. As we explained during your stay, the home had recently experienced damage from a prior guest, and we worked quickly to complete repairs and have the property ready before arrival. As part of that process, brand-new rugs had just been placed in the home, including under furniture, and had not yet been taped at the time they were first installed. When you brought this to our attention, we let you know the same day that the rugs had already been addressed.
Regarding the cleaning concern, the home is cleaned by a professional cleaning company. They later found the handwritten-note you left, sent it to us, & notified us the issue involved a new cleaner assigned by their company.
We also encourage all guests to review the check-in instructions and property information provided before arrival, as this helps set clear expectations and makes the arrival process smoother for everyone. Cleaning fees reflect the actual cost of hiring a professional cleaning company to prepare the home between stays, and our fees are consistent with what is typical for comparable rentals in the Huntington area.
While we understand that every guest has different expectations, we do feel it is important to clarify that this was an isolated oversight, not a reflection of the overall cleanliness or condition of the home. We took the concern seriously, addressed it promptly, and communicated with you about the steps being taken.
We appreciate your stay & wish you the best.

What makes this property unique
This historic building in downtown Huntington, West Virginia boasts a unique connection to the local community and a rich history that sets it apart. Originally constructed in 1911, the property has endured major events like the great flood of 1937 and has had just a few owners over the decades.
Though the building sat vacant for years and required updates, I have carefully preserved its historical charm while breathing new life into the space. Guests can now experience the authentic character and glimpse into the region's past that this property provides, immersing themselves in the local culture in a way that is hard to find elsewhere.
With its storied history and dedication to honoring the past, this building offers a truly distinctive alternative to more modern rental options in the area.
