This is our second time staying at this lovely place and it was great. The hosts are easy to communicate with, kitchen and bathrooms are well stocked and beds are comfortable. We brought our dog and there is a small yard for her. Also the location is very close to shops, restaurants and downtown. Definitely recommend!!
Great location. Interior of property was as described. Exterior patio and yard could use a little love. Our dog was unable to use yard first day and grass is hard to come by in the neighborhood.
We look forward to staying at the Garden House again when we return to Lancaster. The house was perfect! As an artist appreciated the artwork both inside and out! The house is in perfect walking distance to great restaurants, shops, museums and an amazing dog park!
I booked the Garden House as a place for our guests to stay since our nearby house lacks guest rooms. The location was fabulous and street parking was, as advertised, easy. We weren't in the house much but the decor was cute, the rooms were comfortable and the washer/dryer were much appreciated. It was too cold to enjoy the front balcony and side yard but I suspect they would be a wonderful feature during the warmer months.
A cheerful, unique little house in historic district. Sparkling clean, beautifully decorated, everything you need is provided, smooth entry, great host communication. Would stay again in a heartbeat!
Great location! Such a charming little house. The beds and bedding were very comfortable. I would recommend this place. The owner is very quick to respond and very easy communication.
This is a perfect place to stay in Lancaster. Close to everything but also on a quiet cozy street. Highly recommend. It would be great to have a fully fenced in yard for the pups but other than that a 10.
Lovely, cozy, vibrant home in a great part of the city. Lots of restaurants to walk to. Easy checkin and checkout process. Home had everything you needed.
The location of this home was just perfect. Great area to walk around and some good dining options within walking distance (get ice cream just down the block). Home was clean and comfortable and had a nice yard to sit in. The neighborhood is quiet but close to center of downtown. We were also no more than 20/30 min drive from the Amish countryside which is beautiful to explore right now.
The charm of the house was only matched by the charm of the neighborhood. We visited Franklin Marshall College, the natural science museum, and a number of shops in the local neighborhood. There was something for everybody, and when we couldn't agree on something to eat, we cooked in the kitchen, which was equipped to make an meal. If eclectic charm interests you this house and neighborhood will satisfy you.

We liked the privacy we had while there. Even though the weather was bad, cold and icy, we still had a nice walk around the neighborhood on Thursday night after attending the conference we were in Lancaster for. There were a lot of take-out options for food, the neighborhood was safe, the architecture of the neighborhood was very old and for me, was very interesting to see all the stonework and brickwork associated with those buildings. Parking was on the street, but we were always able to park right at the Garden house.
If ever we go to Lancaster again, we will certainly book the Garden house for our accommodations. Well worth it.
We had an amazing time! The house is exactly as it's pictured, with gorgeous and abundant natural light, comfortable furniture and beds, and lots of vivid color. Even the art was fun! The kitchen was one of the best stocked kitchens I have ever experienced in a VRBO property. Literally every pot, pan, utensil, even spice you could ever need was available. And everything was pristinely clean. I wish we had more time to spend cooking there! Having the downstairs half bath was a great convenience, and one we especially appreciated with 3 adults staying there. The 2 larger bedrooms (which were the ones we used) were a great size, with ample space for us and our things. Our college-aged daughter loved the private, sun-filled balcony attached to her bedroom! A nice change from cramped college dorms. The shower had really good water pressure and plenty of hot water. (Also especially appreciated by the college student!) Plenty of towels were available as well. Location was excellent. Easy walks to several restaurants, coffee shops, and fun shopping - not to mention an ice cream shop at the end of the block! That was a cool (and delicious) bonus! Off-street parking was super easy and always very close, most times right in front of the property. One thing to note, the stairs inside feel a little steep, as is common with homes of a certain age. It wasn't a problem for us, but something we noticed might be an issue for others.Excellent stay!!
