Marty gave us a tour of the property and introduced all the farm animals. It was honestly such a nice little get away from the city we really enjoyed our stay will definitely stay here again
The Byrds nest is my new favorite place. It is so peaceful and the view across the countryside is amazing. The hosts are so nice and they made sure we had everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable and the space was so nicely decorated. For me, the added bonus were the animals all around. I grew up in a farm and having the chickens, turkeys, goats around was wonderful. I would love to come back again.
This place was awesome to stay at. We really enjoyed being around the animals and the location provides a great view of the stars at night. Marty and James were very hospitable and friendly.

This property was so pretty and the owners were so accommodating! I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking to stay in the area.
The property, scenery and all the animals were great. The issue we had was that the air conditioners were kinda on the fritz and caused some sweaty sleeping that night. The hosts tried their best to make it as enjoyabvle as possible. Sometimes these things just happen.
Super accomodations, friendliest folks, and awesome location. Thank you Marty and James for your hospitality! I will send pics of our Night Blooming Cereus
The Bird’s Nest is a quaint place in the country. It was peaceful , very nice and great hosts. The property has animals you can interact with- our granddaughter loved it. We loved staying here.
The place was clean and newly built. Marty & James are so nice and friendly.
We had a quick 1-night stay. Pros: goats & outdoor shower, plus hosts allowed for early check-in to get ready for an afternoon weddingCons: Political statements on vehicle were off-putting
The owners live on the property and greeted us when we arrived. The “barndominium” is super nice inside with many thoughtful amenities. It is exactly as described. The only negative is we wish we could have stayed longer.
Absolutely amazing. The host is out of this world and the most down to earth people you’ll ever meet. The property is super cute and full of farm animals. The sleeping quarters were excellent. The outdoor shower is a neat bonus. We will definitely be back next time we visit the shiner area.Cheers
We had an amazing weekend at the Birds Nest. Extremely relaxing! Shiner is a cute little town. The brewery/distillery is a must along with the Shiner Palace Saloon it has outstanding food and drinks. Marty and James are wonderful host and owners. Their property is clean and well maintain.
This is the second time we’ve stayed here, and we had the best time. James and Marty are wonderful, it feels like we’re visiting family. The decor is something out of a magazine yet the rooms are extremely comfortable and functional. My 5-year old just LOVES the outdoor shower, animals garden... and I do too! Can’t wait to go back.
We had such a great weekend at the Byrds Nest. It's so peaceful and beautiful. Marty and James are so wonderful and hospitable. We felt like we were staying with family. Our kids loved running the property and playing with the animals all day. We will definitely go back.
Very nice place. Clean & well appointed. Only dislike was no tv in the bedroom (but there is one in the closet that just hasn’t been hung yet)! 😉 Thank you!
We stayed for a long weekend at the Byrd’s Nest and had a wonderful time! The farm dogs will play as long as you would like and the other animals are very friendly. There is plenty of seating outside to enjoy meals and the tremendous views during the day and the stars at night! The owners were accommodating of every need and went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our time. We will definitely return as soon as we get the chance!
We had a very quiet and relaxing stay at the Byrd’s Nest. The apartment was lovely and very spacious. We walked in and saw an anniversary cake awaiting us. What a thoughtful surprise! We also enjoyed a delicious jar of honey. The hospitality extended to us by Marty and James went above and beyond. Would definitely stay here again!
