Galveston has an impressive fourth of July celebration (fireworks display are set off at 37th Street jetty right down the street). Thanksgiving and Christmas are another ideal time to be on the island. The summer crowds have thinned out, the weather is mild (bordering on awesome), and the atmosphere is laid back.

Spring break/ Memorial Day, or The Lone Star Bike Rally (usually the first week of November).
The house in beachhouse was PERFECT! Loved the two seperate living quarters so the kids could stay up late and we could go upstairs and get some rest after the day at the beach. It was also nice to be able to get up and make breakfast without waking everyone up. It is also decorated so nice and the outdoor patio was like another living room only outside. We also enjoyed playing all the games you have there the kids loved watching the old Disney movies. I guess the only problem was the kids fighting over which room they wanted, but all agreed nobody was the loser in that battle. We will be in touch soon.
We had 9 woman in the house and were able to spread out and have a good time. This home is close to all attractions. We went shopping at the Strand, Moody Gardens, swam at the beach, Galveston State Park and took a dolphin tour. We were there a week and barely used 1/4 tank of gas! We were able to cook at home and eat out at nearby restaurants. The owner was super to work with, I would recommend this home to anyone going to Galveston.
We rented this house for our annual girls weekend in Galveston. In the past, we have always rented on the beach or close to the water but wanted to try something new this trip so we found this house in the Historic East End. It was only about 8 blocks to the Seawall and minutes from The Strand and tons of restaurants. The house was just perfect for us- 7 queen beds and 3 bathrooms. Plenty of space to move around but cozy feeling for visiting and watching movies. The house has super high ceilings and beautiful crown molding in the upstairs rooms. And the owner, Dana, was a joy to work with- great communication and easy to get ahold of. We really enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend. Can't wait to come back.
Our group of ladies make an annual trip to Galveston every Spring and have always rented a house on the beach or close to the water. This time, we decided to try something completely different and rent a house in the Historic East End- new places to eat, different areas to explore. This lovely home is about 8 blocks off the Seawall and just a short drive to the Strand area and tons of restaurants and bars. The upstairs of the house has super high ceilings , rich crown molding and is beautifully decorated - there is the kitchen, large dining room with seating for 8, a den area with TV and movies, 2 large bedrooms and one bathroom. The downstairs has two more spacious bedrooms and another family gathering area with a large flat screen tv , a kitchenette with wine cooler and mini frig and 2 bathrooms. There was so much room to spread out but still be cozy enough to visit and catch up with each other. The owner, Dana, is a joy to work with and easy to get ahold of. We really enjoyed our stay and can't wait to come back. Thanks for sharing your home with all of us!
The 6 of us girls were comfortable in this chic property. Excellent location in a beautifully restored home!
This is a wonderful, comfortable and charming home that is perfectly located close to The Strand and the Seawall. Everything was in great shape and we had everything that we needed. We will definitely be back. Thank you for making our stay special.
This lovely home has so much to offer. We have rented homes over hotel rooms for several years now and this one is at the top of our favorites list. The location couldn't be better right in the middle of everything. The kids were 5minutes to the sea wall and their stuff while my husband and I elected the Strand and that end of town again 5-10 minutes from every thing. The house is charming comfortable and had room for everyone and all their stuff. The owner was so pleasant to work with and she left detailed instructions as well as ample creature comforts. We will definitely be staying here again.
