Peaceful, Private Cottages On Bayou Teche

Perfect cottages for a family or traveling couples on the banks of the picturesque Bayou Teche. Located in the heart of Cajun Country you are just a few miles from the world famous Tabasco factory at Avery Island, many festivals and the quaint downtown of New Iberia. Each cottage is renovated sugar cane farm housing built in the early 1900's. The first cottage has a full size bed and a pull out couch in the living room. Efficiency kitchen includes a mini fridge, microwave, sink and breakfast bar. The second cottage is a little larger and has a full size bed in one bedroom, a full bed in a second bedroom and a pull out sofa in the living room. The cottage also has a large kitchen area with full size refrigerator/freezer, microwave and breakfast area. This cottage is decorated with vintage 1950's furniture giving it a very comfortable feel. Both cottages have a large shared screen in porch overlooking the peaceful waters of the Bayou Teche. These cottages are available to rent separate as well.

Space was perfect. We wished we were staying long enough to enjoy the screened porch, but we were only in for a night as we were out most of the time for a wedding at The Avery. We would stay again!

Family Wedding Accommodations

This was a beautiful, peaceful, perfect place for our adult children to stay in, that came into town for a long weekend for our wedding. It has two separate cottages perfect to have separate, space. But also has an adjoining screened back porch over looking the bayou, that we used to have a Louisiana Friday family night of gumbo, with a fire pit and visiting. The property owners were gracious enough, that they let us use the grounds and property for pre-wedding photos. It was an amazing weekend. Thank you so much! Highly recommend. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Wonderful Weekend Getaway

We stayed here while visiting relatives in town. The cottages were so cute and absolutely wonderful. The owners were so kind to let us check in early when we arrived. The two cottages were connected by an enclosed porch, which made it very convenient for the kids to play away from the mosquitos and for the adults to meet for coffee in the mornings. I highly recommend!

Beware

Problems we encountered 1. Strong air freshener odor in one of the houses. Took several hours to air out. 2. Beds are not queen size. They are full size. 3. Deck is dangerous. Husband's chair went straight through a rotten board and he was thrown off the deck and landed on his head. Owner advised us not to use the deck. 4. Screened in porch has gaps between ceiling and screens. Wasps kept coming in. We had to kill at least 10. Lost count.

We are very sorry your stay with us did not meet your expectations. The odor in the cottage was from the lavender sent of the damp mop sheets used to clean the floor. We have not had any complaints before but appreciate that you had someone in your party that was sensitive to smells. When that was brought to my attention I spoke with your son and offered a full refund so that you could find other accommodations that were more suitable. He assured me that they didn't want to do that and they loved the place and they would just air it out. You are correct that that was a dangerous situation with the deck. We were unaware of the problem area as it did not show any outward signs of it being an issue. I was very happy to hear your husband say the he was ok. I did ask you to not use the deck after that incident so that we could do a through inspection to ensure there were no other issues. I did notice that you still enjoyed the deck anyway for the remaining time of your stay. We have done a through inspection and replaced the one area the problem was in. I was not aware you had an issue with wasp. I would have been happy to take care of that for if I had known. This is South Louisiana and one thing we have is a lot of bugs and critters. Keeping them at bay can sometime be an issue.

Charming Cottages

We LOVED this place! It is very peaceful and quiet with a spectacular view of the Teche from the back patio. We were able to take the kayaks out for a lovely paddle. The grounds are well kept. Will definitely recommend to friends and family.

Relaxing, quiet and warm weekend getaway

Had a small wedding ceremony with my now wife and our 2 beat friends/witnesses for the entire weekend. Each of us got our own private cottage and it was the best weekend getefoe such a special occasion! So clean and booking and the stay were super easy! Owner very accommodating and so very nice! Will be back to celebrate anniversaries!

PERFECT!!

If you are thinking of booking a stay at this property, stop thinking and just book it. I have traveled all over the world, for business and pleasure, I have never felt more comfortable and rested. Relaxing on the Bayou Teche

Edward and Nancy have done an impeccable job at furnishing the 2 rental cottages. My family and I love the peaceful location along the bayou and felt right at home enjoying gathering on the back porch to talk and take in the natural sounds of nature. We definitely will look forward to booking a return stay in the future!

Hidden Gem

We came in from out of town for work at the last minute and these cabins were perfect for our needs. They were tucked away off the beaten path but had all the amenities that you could possibly need. Edward and Nancy were very accomidating. Although it was a work trip I highly recommend these cabins for a pleasure trip to the country.
