It’s not Vegas and that’s the whole reason we did this. From the fantastic weather and the comfortable space provided by the gorgeous cabin, it was entirely worth it. Kids had plenty of room to run around and the wife and I got a little vacation from the city. We all had a great time.

Overall Rating: 2 Stars. The cabin was charming with a great location, and our host was generally responsive, which we appreciated. However, two significant issues marred our stay. First, we found about a dozen bed bugs in one room’s bed and walls, making it unusable and causing stress. I provided photos and videos to the host, but her follow-up inspection after our checkout found no evidence. An inspection during our stay would have been fairer, allowing witnesses from both sides. The partial refund was helpful but didn’t fully cover the room’s loss or our stress. Second, the microwave’s loose handle, which I hadn’t reported earlier, caused the glass to shatter during use on checkout morning, scattering glass in the kitchen. I was unfairly charged for the replacement despite cleaning up and notifying the host promptly. I contacted Vrbo, who said any further refunds depend on the host, and they’re addressing the bed bug issue with her. Because these issues weren’t handled with a customer-focused approach, we left feeling sorely disappointed. We hope these are resolved for future guests and that we are treated more fairly in the future.

It’s unfortunate Eugene and his group had issues during their stay. I think part of the issues lay with VRBO and their policies.
I did offer to send someone during their stay and Eugene said they prefer someone not to come while they are there so I waited until they left. I did not really understand the extent of their concerns until after they left left as the picture and video was blurry and only showed 2 bugs (it’s the mountains I expect we get a few bugs) and immediately refunded an amount that equaled 1 less room for their stay. I had the rooms checked for bugs immediately after they left and no evidence was found of any bugs in that room or any other room. No other guests before or since have noted any issues.
When the microwave was broken and it was sent to me followed by a request for additional refunds I decided to report the issue to Vrbo as I wanted it documented. I have not received any funds from Vrbo for this so damage I had nothing to refund as Eugene requested - when I looked at the VRBO site it said he had to deny the claim.
I do feel bad that the group did not get to fully enjoy the cabin - but they left a lot of trash and I had to have someone come in and clean up the glass and replace the microwave before the next guests came in.
