Perfect for a Large Group!
We rented the entire mansion for a large group when we were in town for a large conference and it could not have been more perfect. The location is amazing - walking distance to the convention center, the French Quarter, and the Garden District (specifically Magazine Street). Would highly recommend the Fleur De Lis Mansion!
Fun place, authentic New Orleans feel. Enjoyed it!
Thank you for staying with us! We enjoyed hosting your group. Thank you again for staying at the Mansion.
Not bad if you’re looking for for fraternity room!
We are a group of 10 corporate executives. In booking this location, and we were looking for a comfortable place for executiveMeetings. Upon arriving, there was no heat, with extreme cold outside. Many commodes and showers did not work. Commodes would not flush. And a host of other issues. We have tried to be reasonable with the owners, but do not believe we have had anywhere near a reasonable response. Would never consider renting again. And would encourage anyone to make a detailed inquiry into conditions of the property before considering staying here !
As a reputable business owner, we did everything in our power to correct & ensure you were comfortable for the remainder of your stay. To say we don't have a reasonable response time is due to your lack of response & communication. In reality, you never gave us an opportunity to address anything, in a timely manner. You & I went back & forth for hours because you refused to answer my calls. I'll gladly reiterate what really happened for any future guest that has concerns about your review.
Peter’s group had the unfortunate luck of arriving in NOLA during a rare, record-breaking hard freeze that nearly shut the city down for 3 days. Homes & businesses were forced to run their water slightly, so as to keep pipes from freezing & bursting. As a result, the city sewerage & water system was severely overstressed. The entire city had low water pressure. Many hotels, like the Sheraton, had to relocate 500 guests because they had no water pressure at all. Luckily for us, we still had running hot water, despite your erroneous claims to the contrary.
We checked every single bathroom. One of your guests was turning the cold water on and complaining it was not getting hot. In the U.S., the left is always hot. By 12:30 p.m. that day, everything was working normally. Due to the freezing conditions, the hot water had to run longer than usual.
The only other issue was the room temperature. The person who left bc their room wasn't warm was because they didn't even have the heater on, so of course, it was cold! There were extra portable heaters sitting in the kitchen. Again, not one person called to ask about additional heating!
We are always available & prepared to solve unforeseen issues that may arise and we do in a timely manner but how are we supposed to fix it or make it right if we are not aware at the time of the issue? We believe in giving our guests stellar service & accommodations. According to our rave reviews, that's what we provide. Your guests had us at their fingertips, yet they chose not to reach out for help & instead left you with another hotel bill, which we even offered to reimburse you for (in addition to the $500 refund we gave you), but you have, yet again…not responded. It’s ironic that you wrote in your review about not receiving, “anywhere near a reasonable response.” Had we gotten that from your group from the start, all of this could have been avoided.
Real NOLA Experience - Truly Unique Property!
Despite arriving on an unusually cold week in New Orleans (Low 40's and Rainy), my large family and I had an absolute blast in the Fleur De Lis Mansion. While the weather kept us from getting to take full advantage of the beautiful outdoor spaces (several trees full of huge lemons, oranges, and grapefruit!) we found the large dining/kitchen area to be a great space to congregate and share meals and laughs.
The rooms appeared just as they do on the website, clean and well maintained. Each one packs it's own unique vibe and for a group of 26 ages 3-90, we had no complaints other than it was a bit cold in some rooms (which is totally understandable as the temperatures we experienced were quite unusual).
From the service and hospitality side of things, we found owners Jim & Lauren and property manager Rome, to be extremely accessible and helpful throughout our stay. Questions and issues were promptly responded to and addressed.
Location wise, the mansion is placed just off of the highway on and off ramps that made my shuttling groups to the airport an absolute breeze. It was also just a couple minutes drive from the French Quarter. In fact on one of our nicer days, a couple in our group walked back from the FQ and found it easy and pleasant. It is also VERY close to the amazing National WW2 Museum, which is a must see in my opinion.
Overall, while our situation was a bit unique and quirky, I would absolutely recommend this awesome and unique NOLA property to couples or large groups that want to feel the New Orleans vibe vs. sitting in a lame hotel.
Thank you for staying with us. It was a pleasure hosting your family at the Mansion. Thank you again for spending the weekend with us!
Great place for a large family gathering!
We had a total of 22 stay and had a blast.
Words used to describe it were: awesome, quirky, different, fun...
We ranged in age from 62 yrs to 2 yrs., 13 adults and 9 under 18 yrs.
All enjoyed it with the different rooms, entertainment, spaces to gather and space to be by yourself.
I would highly recommend this mansion. They were very accommodating on letting us drop
off luggage and groceries early.
Thanks for this review and rating! It was a pleasure hosting your group. Thanks for staying at the Mansion.
I loved the home and location. We had a wonderful time celebrating life!
I loved the home and appreciated the exposed brick and special features. However, I did have complains about closet space in some rooms. Guest in River Suite was not comfortable using jetted tub on 3rd level.....squealing floor boards and wet spot in Ceiling. I hope these suggestions / comments will help. The beds and linens were excellent quality!
We enjoyed hosting your group. Thank you for choosing to stay at the Mansion.

It's right on the outskirts of the WHD (Warehouse District), next door to the convention center, walking distance to the French Quarter, 5 blocks to St Charles and 8 blocks from Magazine St. The WHD is where a of the locals live in condominiums. There are shops, hotels, bars, night clubs, restaurants and attractions like The National World War II Museum, 0.3 ml. The Mercedes-Benz Superdome, 1.2 ml. The New Orleans Arena, 1.1 ml. The Louisiana Children's Museum, 0.4 ml. The Audubon Aquarium of the Americas, 0.9 ml. The Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, 0.4 ml. Mardi Gras World, 0.4 ml. The Metropolitan Nightclub, 0.3 ml. Now on the other side you've got St. Charles and Magazine St. Take a ride in the Street Car down St. Charles and take a stroll down Magazine St. which is known for great shopping and restaurants. You could make a day of it and walk all the way down to the Audubon Zoo, 3.9 miles away. The Mansion is an old New Orleans style layout. It is 2 stories and it is long and skinny. All the rooms open from a balcony or you can walk straight threw them from inside. There are 3 different levels and steps throughout the entire mansion. It is not handicap accessible, sorry.
