Tucked away on a quiet street in the village of Montmartre in the 18th Arrondissement of Paris, this charming one-bedroom apartment makes the perfect home base for budget-conscious couples or families on a Parisian holiday.
The apartment is located in lovely Parisian 19th century residential building. Walk less than 15 minutes to the Sacre Coeur basilica, and along the way enjoy cafes, restaurants and boutiques which abound in this typically Parisian neighborhood, which is complete with a neighborhood park. Windows in the living room and bedroom open from this flat onto the building’s inner courtyard, eliminating the distraction of street noises.
LIVING AREA: The living area features a new, high-quality double sofa bed designed for daily use, and suitable for up to two adults. The wall-to-wall bookcase opposite the sofa holds a TV, DVD player plenty of books and DVDs to browse through. The TV has cable television with a few international news channels in English. The storage unit in the bookcase also provides additional space for those sleeping in the living to store their belongings. The dining table seats four comfortably, and there is a desk opposite the kitchen for guests who need to work while in Paris.
MASTER BEDROOM: The bedroom is spacious and furnished with a king-sized bed (160cm). A large armoire provides plenty of space to store your belongings, and an original decorative fireplace adds Parisian charm to the room.
DINING AREA: The table can be expanded on both sides to give plenty of room to happy diners.
KITCHEN: The open kitchen includes a refrigerator with freezer compartment, two burner electric stove, clothes washer, and a combination oven/microwave. Clothing can be dried on an air drying rack. The apartment also has an iron, ironing board, hair dryer and alarm clock.
BATHROOM: Off of the living room area is a small-yet-functional with shower, toilet and sink with a mirror. It's a truly Parisian experience to learn how to make do with small spaces. The apartment shower has hot water on demand and good water pressure.
FAMILIES: Walk two minutes to reach the neighborhood park at Square Carpeaux. We will happily provide a baby travel crib and/or lightweight stroller for you as well, upon request.
STAY CONNECTED: The apartment has WIFI internet and a landline telephone with free international calling to many countries (US & Canada included - ask for other countries). The main living room TV has cable and access to some English-language news stations.
TRANSPORTATION: A quick walk also leads you to two different metro stops - Guy Moquet (Line 13) or Lamarck Caulaincourt (Line 12). Two handy bus lines (95, 81) will also help you explore Paris easily.
SHOPPING: For foodies, this is a perfect in which to go shopping “à la française.” Visiting the cheese shop, the butcher and the green grocer is French tradition! But don't worry - you'll find plenty of modern supermarkets, too, such as Carrefour and Franprix. The apartment’s location is within a short distance of rue Damremont’s boutiques, bakeries, butcher, fish market, chocolate shop and wine cave. It's also a quick walk to Avenue de St. Ouen’s daily outdoor food market. Rue Ordener offers a twice-per-week market just a 2-minute walk from the apartment, and the lovely rue de Poteau (10-minute walk) also offers a daily market street. Whether you choose to prepare your meals yourself or to partake of the many restaurant offerings, you can be sure to find your heart’s desire in this neighborhood.
