Located in the hotel district of Montego Bay, on the second floor of a large house is Serene Flat - bedroom, bathroom, kitchenette and a small living room area. It is ideally located just outside Montego Bay town center, less than 10 minutes drive from Sangster International Airport, and with direct access to the main throughway(A1 Highway), which provides ease of travelling. Two private bedrooms, each with their own bathrooms are adjacent to the flat and are available to accommodate larger group as a two-bedrooms or a three-bedrooms apartment. The apartment comes equipped with the conveniences of home. It’s in a safe neighbourhood, public transport is available and it is within walking distance to local amenities (restaurants/Scotchies, convenient store, etc.). Also, it’s approximately ten to fifteen minutes drive to Montego Bay 'Hip Strip' (beach, shopping, restaurants and more), golf courses, hospital, shopping center, Montego Bay Convention Center and much more. Serene Flat is private, cozy, relaxing and is ideal for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers and families.

Stayed a month Jul-Aug

We rented the property for a month end of July to August. The property is lovely, clean and spacious, adequate for the needs of us who stayed. Every room had a bathroom which was ideal and two of rooms were air conditioned. The host provided us with fresh orange juice upon arrival which was a nice touch. There were a plethora of towels which were very useful and we were able to wash and reuse them with washing machine provided in the apartment. Location is great, you can step outside and get a taxi almost immediately or the neighbour at the house has a car rental business so you can hire one on the spot. It is literally 15 mins away from the airport so you can rest after a long time travelling. The kitchen is FULLY equipped and we only needed to add food, however, we had to provide our bin bags, matches and toilet paper. However, our host was a task to deal with. Prices for the AC (which was NOT included in what we paid) were not effectively communicated causing tension between us and the host. We were using the AC one night, the host woke us up at 7:37am to let us know we couldn’t use the AC. There were repairs that needed to be done in all 3 bathrooms which caused major disruptions to us, including days where we had to stay in to wait for a plumber. After reporting the issue with the bathrooms, we had to wait over 2 weeks for them to be fixed. We weren’t allowed to play loud music because there was a long term tenant across the hall. This was not stated in the original advert on the website, we felt a bit misled. There were family members of the host that were on the property making us feel uncomfortable. At one point we had to remove our children from the home because the host was arguing with us very loudly making the children upset. There were lots of rules which made it feel like living with parents and the host would always chase us to have a chat about things she didn’t like us doing. The WiFi hardly worked. We paid for use of 3 TV’s only 1 worked. For all the trouble we suffered at the property (some of us the whole month) the host offered compensation to only 2 guests out of 7 of us that stayed. The 2 that stayed the shortest time. Lovely property, lovely neighbourhood but we would never opt to stay here again.

Serena Flat had its ups and downs

Delhrona is a very good hostess. She answered all my pre-trip questions. She was kind and responsive during our stay and helped us problem solve some issues we had in our family. I would recommend this property for folks who are in good health, who can easily climb a flight of stairs, and who are in good walking condition. I did a lot more cooking than the average vacationer so I would have appreciated a working can opener, flame starter, and a spatula. I think the website should clearly indicate that the property is up a flight of stairs. The biggest issues were the heat and almost constant problems with Wi-Fi. The best part of the week was Delrhona. I would have enjoyed getting to know her a little more.

This is a beautiful family property, which is my home. The property has several apartments, as well as, private rooms with en-suite bathrooms, and is able to accommodate multiple families. It is in a safe neighbourhood with easy access to the town center and surrounding parishes for excursions via A1 Highway. Also, it is surrounded by fruit trees and is truly a blessed property.
