About Tish Burris
I am a world traveler that settled here in Troy Montana. I went to high school in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia in NE Africa. I spent most of my career in the corporate world. I purchased this property in 2000 after some family deaths. I left corporate and decided to purchase this wonderful property. Now I develop this beautiful river property for others to enjoy. As I have just moved back last year. I live in a church that was going to be destroyed. I purchased it and moved it to the property. It is work in progress. While the cabins have been completed and are perfect. It is time for some attention to my own place. I spent a year at sea with my family on a 41 ft sloop and loved it. But solid land feels pretty good too.
Why Tish Burris chose Troy
This property was brush and old car parts when I purchased it. I moved a 100 year old Church to the property and have since built two cabins and other out buildings, plus a Yurt! The property holds a lot of history. I have 75 to a 100 year old fruit trees and the river is framed by cedar trees of about the same age.
What makes this Cabin unique
The three biggest attractions on this property is the "River" "Mountains" and the cabin its self.

2nd trip...there will be a third!!!
This was my second trip to The Bunkhouse, and was just as great as the first time I came! The bunkhouse was just as I remember, but now there is a beautiful new awning/cover over the patio with lovely wooden features. Had a great time around the “big” bonfire, as welll as the patio fire pit! Can’t wait to come back. Tish really has a cool place to visit!!
What a pleasant surprise to find this gem of a location for a 2 day stay! Such a cute cabin with great privacy and total comfort! Just what we needed for a weekend escape from the busy summer! We'll be back!
Great find! A gem in troy!
Clean facilities. Friendly host. And private cabins on the river. A steal at the price!
What a great cabin! We had such a fantastic time! It was fun to explore the surprises around every corner. The cabin has almost everything you could imagine. It is amazing how it's set up to feel spacious yet have so many amenities. Already going to go back for a weekend trip and can't wait! Thank you for the experience. It's just so cool!
Tish does a great job of making you feel welcome. The unit is clean and in a great location, right on the river! High recommended.
Cabin was perfect! Great for our hunting trip.
Cabin was great for us. We stayed warm in nov. Was able to make meals. Also take a warm showers. Watched movies in the evening. Owner was attentive to our needs.
If I could give a rating to my guests, these gentlemen would have a 5 star rating. They left the cabin in great shape after a 9 day stay. They are highly recommended to other hosts. Hope they return next year. Maybe for Elk!!! lol

The city of Troy is surrounded by the Cabinet Mountains and skirts the Percell Mountain range. The beautiful Percell mountain range has peaks as high as 8,712 feet. The Cabinet Mountains are a narrow line of snow capped peaks, glacial lakes, valleys cut by icy streams, and cascading waterfalls. The high mountain trails & lakes are a Hiker’s, backpacker's and fisherman's delight. Enjoy scenic byways for motorists, cyclists and I personally enjoy my motorcycle rides on these routes. Stay at the cabin, explore the surrounding wilderness and then make your way to Glacier Park 2.5 hrs. away. You will never be bored, whether you're exploring or just relaxing on the river bank.
Enjoy a large, private, cozy, ensuite bathroom with all the amenities. You will overlook the Kootenai River from your bedside. The Bunkhouse invites a casual, relaxing, easy and fun place to spend time. Troy and its surrounding wilderness area offer a look at some territory that is very much unsettled and in its natural form. A must-see stop in northwest Montana is the Ross Creek Cedar Trail, home to Western Red Cedars that are more than 200 years old. The swinging bridge should be on your list to visit, with the beautiful falls just below.
Yaak swimming hole is a great place to cool off in clear, fresh, mountain water.
