A perfect little gem of a place, right on the water, who could ask for more?? The layout and arrangement of the apartment is well thought out & maximizes the space. Little details such as a motion sensor nightlight, fresh vase of wildflowers and vast amounts of guidebooks made us feel so welcome. We loved our stay!
Love the time I stayed here. So comfortable and relaxing. The views were amazing. Looking forward to returning.

Connie was a pleasure to host. She was a joy to converse with and she took advantage of her time in Juneau to explore what she wanted to see. She left the studio clean and tidy. Easy to clean sheets etc after her stay.
My wife and I stayed for three nights at this amazingly beautiful and peaceful place. Ulla is the best host I have had so far, very helpful and welcoming.Would love to come back and stay here for longer time
Right on the bay, great sunsets, close to the airport and close enough to downtown. Came up up spur of the moment for my birthday and Ulla made my stay feel right at home, I even got a birthday cupcake!! What a perfect place to enjoy the full Juneau experience!

I'm sure glad you enjoyed your stay and your birthday! That's always a special day! I do believe you found many of Juneau's fun adventures to have. I've been in Juneau a few years and I keep thinking that haven't done them all!
The apartment was lovely and very clean. The view was great! Ulla was responive to our questions and any needs we had. Our one suggestion would be to make the house address more visible. We would definitely stay again!
This place was very close to whale watching and the views were awesome to wake up to. It is a 15 to 20 minute drive from downtown which was a major plus being able to get away from the cruise ship visitors and commotion.I really enjoyed being able to drink my coffee on the front deck overlooking the ocean with different birds and fish in the Bay.The host was very gracious and any communication was very easy. The place had everything you could need. It was very cozy and the bed was super comfortable.
Sally was a great host. We had a horrible experience at the airport with Delta Airlines, and had to stay another day. The only good thing that came out of it was Sally having this house ready for us to come back to..
My girlfriend and I had a fantastic stay at this cozy vacation rental in Auke Bay! The location was perfect—peaceful, scenic, and close to everything we wanted to explore. What truly made our experience exceptional was our host, Ulla. Her communication was outstanding from the start, and she went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed for a comfortable and memorable stay. We felt genuinely welcomed and cared for. Highly recommend this place for anyone visiting the Juneau area!

Conner and his girlfriend were exceptionally considerate guests. They communicated their needs and if I could accommodate them I would! They were quiet and left the studio in wonderful shape. I would certainly love to host them again.
We really enjoyed the whole space! We were in town for a wedding near to Auke Bay. The space is adjoined to a main house by a washer/dryer utility room, but it is otherwise private mother-in-law type of suite. The deck is a shared space but I felt like I had free range to use it especially in the morning to stare at the mountains. There is parking space for a small rental car if you should need. We had a perfect time! Being there during mid/late August was perfect timing for outdoor activities in Juneau as well. We would definitely stay here again!
Only stayed 2 nights but the location was great and the studio itself was perfect for us (2 adults). View over the bay, especially at sunrise and sunset, was stunning. Host was very helpful and communicating was easy. We came in on the ferry and it was running late (4 hours late - which is unusual) and she helped create Plan B and C in case our transportation fell through when we arrived. We needed access to a washer and dryer and the studio had them available, but it was a little awkward to coordinate with the host (that room is a shared space). The studio is part of the host's house, so you can hear noises from "upstairs" and we were both on the back porch a couple times (taking sunset pictures). It all worked out just fine but felt a little awkward. We would definitely stay again.

Juneau has been my home for over 60 years. I have some history with Juneau! I am retired I can put my attention on making my guests as comfortable as possible and giving them some familiarity with Juneau. My hope is my guests can experience Juneau and come to love it like I do!
I love my town! I went to public school primarily in Juneau but I have tried some schooling in Rome, Paris, Germany, Denmark, New Jersey, New York, Northern California and even right here in Juneau, Alaska at UAS! After all those years attending school in different places I learned there were many things I treasured about Juneau and wanted to make Juneau my home. I can still travel and see other places but I love to come home!
There are great hikes, cultural opportunities, shopping and dining experiences available in this town. It all depends on the season. I will have suggestions for you of my favorite.
I am a mother of 3 children, all of whom have decided they like Juneau well enough to live, raise a family and work here! We do love our town!
Why they chose this property
My neighborhood is quiet yet a short drive from many hikes and amenities. This neighborhood needs a car as the closest bus stop is 2 miles away.
As neighbors we talk to each other and have most of each other's phone numbers. We help each other out and sometimes gather together for a neighborhood meal.
The west facing water view is constantly changing and showing itself with all kinds of different beauty. If the sun is out there is one place I really want to be: HOME! We live in a rainforest so Juneau does get rain! Even in the rain, it is beautiful. There are little microcosms of weather patterns going on in Juneau given all the mountains and glacier. My spot is not as rainy or windy as other locations of Juneau. I am in a protected little cove.
The water, depending on the seasons has humpback whales blowing and breaching for the day or weeks. The same goes for the killer whales. Sometimes a group of sea lions move in. Depending on the season or your luck you may also see harbor seals, land otters and porpoises. There are usually resident king fishers and blue herons for the summer. The eagles, ravens and crows stay year round.
The down side of my property is: I am on the flight path. Not all of the planes fly over but perhaps 3 - 4 a day. The jets will sometimes land or take off over downtown Juneau. I don't hear the jets any more but you may. I have tuned them out but they might be bothersome to you. The noise lasts for less than a minute. You can hear it from inside the house but you can still hold a conversation. If you are outside you will need to pause your conversation!
A fun walk from my house is a beach walk at low tide, down Fritz Cove Road, or up steep hill to hike a path hike or onto the amazing wetlands. (boots needed!)
There are three dining options and one of Juneau's Breweries nearby, about 2 miles. If you drive 7 to 22 minutes there are many more options.
Downtown Juneau is about 20 minutes away.
What makes this property unique
There is beach access, off street parking, water view with amazing wildlife viewing possibilities. If the clouds move away there is an amazing view of the Chilkat Mountain Range.
There is in-floor heat you regulate. It is clean and the unit has recently been repainted with new carpeting installed. It is quiet, cozy, comfortable and no stairs.
Bathroom is wheelchair accessible.
The kitchenette with kitchen/cookware/utensils/plates/glasses and mugs to get you through your short stay.
I am 9 - 10 minutes away from the ferry terminal and the airport.
