This was a last minute reservation since our previous host did not send us check in information. The host was so amenable and welcoming that our whole trip was salvaged.
The house was clean and spacious. The private pier was very nice to fish off of. The host was easy to communicate with and would respond almost immediately with any questions or needs. We will be back.

Disliked: Cleanliness, location
The dock and boat slip were really nice and great for fishing at night. The bedrooms/bathrooms were clean and comfy. The back porch was great too but there were only 2 working darts for the dart board. The huge oak tree out back blocked the view of the dock so it was difficult to keep an eye on kids and cook. The boat launch next door was convenient; however, fisherman dumb their fish guts near the fence line and it smells horrible. The dish washer was broken, there was a mildew smell in the kitchen, and to top it off huge roaches were crawling near sink and microwave. The host was very helpful by calling JandJ exterminator but there were about 4 roaches killed afterwards. I’m assuming from the large trees outside. The hall bathtub was good to bathe kids but drain was broken. Overall i would give it a 7/10.
This place is a great spot in Hackberry for anyone who loves to fish. We make several trips to this area every year. We have stayed many other places but we found this one was perfect for what we like to do…fish. The house was spacious for all of us. The bedrooms and bathrooms were clean but the kitchen was not as clean as would be expected. There was a dirty sponge left as the only thing to clean dishes with, fridge and microwave needed to be wiped down and table in kitchen was also dirty. Easy fix and we enjoyed the rest of the time there. Host was very responsive when we had one small issue that was a miscommunication by some workers. The fishing dock was amazing and we spent most of our time there fishing and watching the ships go by. Just a few suggestions would be grill tools and few extras in the kitchen. The grill was not equipped with needed tools, it was quite dirty from use so we didn’t attempt to use. We purchased sponge, dish clothes and pot holders to use while there. I definitely recommend this place for the location, bait shop across the street and right on the water! House is roomy and comfortable and screened in porch is a bonus! Overall good place to have a great time!
