Very nice home, our adult daughters enjoyed all the spaces to visit with others or find a spot for quiet time. Our grandchildren loved swimming to raft and jumping off, although the weather was a bit cool. Looking to another visit next year
My family stayed here for our annual summer vacation and had a great time. The place was very accommodating for our family which included little kids. The view from the main living area was so scenic and relaxing. We have a wake boat and were able to use the available lift. We enjoyed the lake time, explored downtown Green Lake and the guys played some holes at the Lawsonia Golf Course. Would stay here again and recommend to others!
We had a great time at this lake house. Hadn't realized the owners lived on the property also, but was a win for us as they were so helpful, even with our boat that needed to be towed in (thanks for that!) The patio over the water was a great spot for your morning coffee, or evening sunset watching. We also enjoyed having the use of the grill on the side of the house and the patio area for family to hang out. The kitchen was well equipt as well. Great location, lots of fun safe walking areas, enjoyed the town of Green Lake and also swimming and fishing on site.

We had 6 of us staying at the boathouse and it was absolutely wonderful! Very clean, modern house and it was wonderful to take off from the dock and swim, or boat or just sit back and watch the sunrise /sunset. Would definitely stay here again. I loved looking out at the morning sun and watching the water-skiers solum by. As a mom, I truly appreciated the washer and dryer! Made life a little easier. Thank you for such a wonderful time and great memories. Looking forward to returning

We had a fantastic week at this lake house celebrating my birthday with our family. The home was spacious, clean, and well-equipped—perfect for spending time with our two grown sons and our daughter-in-law. We rented a pontoon for the week and appreciated having access to the private dock and boat lift, which made everything super convenient. The location couldn’t have been better—just a short walk to downtown Green Lake, where we loved grabbing coffee at Sassafras, who also have the best cinnamon rolls ever! There are plenty of great restaurants, supper clubs, and golf courses nearby, and I think we visited most of them! The setting was peaceful, the lake view was beautiful, and the hosts were so friendly, responsive and helpful throughout. We would absolutely stay here again!
Our long weekend getaway at the Boathouse was just what our family of 5 needed. The cottage had everything we could need and was right on Green Lake. It was great for relaxing with a book, renting kayaks and boating. It was a super short drive to town - we walked it with our kids even - to enjoy the park and action of the marina. The owners were friendly and great to work with. We have stayed at Green Lake many times and we would definitely look to return to the Boathouse!

Have an amazing Summer.

Super comfortable property with lots of room outside and dock very convenient. Grandson caught lots of fish off the dock. The boat house was just right, not so fancy that you had to worry about anything but good sized rooms and easy to keep up. The view was ideal.

Relaxing on Green Lake!
We had a great two weeks at the Boat House cottage. Swimming, boating, fishing, golfing, grilling - everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The house was clean and comfortable; a beautiful patio, and right on the Lake. We had a slip for the boat right outside on the dock. The kids had a blast on the water, and we biked or walked to town nearly every day. Hope to be back again for another stay there! A great place.

Great Location
If you're looking for a weekend on the lake with a boat this is a great location. You've got a launch ramp, parking, and dock all right there.
The house itself could use some updates but we had a group of guys who just wanted to be on the water so it wasn't a big deal. There were no linens on the beds or towels which was a pain, most of us ended up sleeping in sleeping bags on the beds. The view is great, but I would caution that the deck looks & feels like a bit of a death trap, I wouldn't want to be out there with more than a couple people.
Kitchen was reasonably functional, but coffee maker is broken, so again we were scavenging just to get a cup of coffee.
Plenty of beds so it accommodated our group very well. Owners allowed us to check out late which really helped out schedule-wise.
Overall a good spot, with some minor work and details it could have been better though.

Thank you for your review Brook, as owners that live on the property, we welcome all feedback, and we respond immediately to all requests.
1. Although our information on VRBO clearly states that guests need to provide their own towels and linens, in the future I'll remind our guests in our pre-arrival information to please remember this important item.
2. I wish one of you had informed us that the coffee maker was broken, I would have replaced it immediately. In the future, I'll have a spare coffee maker in the cabinet (I can't imagine a day without coffee).
3. The deck - our top priority is the safety of our guests (my husband is in the insurance business). We've had the deck inspected by an engineer - it is very secure. Visually, due to it's location, hanging over the water, the wood takes a beating, so cosmetically, yes, it could use a fresh coat of paint, which we're tackling this Fall, along with enlarging our bathroom on the ground level. We consistently try to make 1-2 improvements on our property annually.
Sincerely, Lisa
We really enjoyed our stay at the boathouse - I hope to come back again! First a bit about Green Lake. The lake was great for swimming, kayaking, and boating. Water temp this June was about 72. The house is literally at the water's edge, so we were in and out of the water all day long. The house is about 5 minutes from town. We rented a pontoon, jet skis, SUP, and kayak from Sterling Marina. Sterling delivered the SUP and kayak to the house. The home owners were fantastic. They allowed us to check in early, were very friendly, and generously helped us when we had an issue with one of the kids. About the house: kitchen is very well equipped. As is typical of VRBO's the knives were pretty dull, but everything else was great. The fridge was completely bare, but there was salt, pepper, cooking oil, foil, plastic wrap, dish soap, dishwasher tabs, ice trays, trash bags, one roll of paper towels. There was also a starter supply of TP. King bed was firm and very comfortable. The house has only one air conditioner in the main space on the upper level, but this was sufficient given our weather. There were lots of fans. The house has a huge amount storage space. Wifi worked fine - we had trouble with video calls, but everything else was good. There is a nice flat area next to house to play with frisbee, etc. We enjoyed playing with the owners' dogs. Outside, there are 2 picnic tables, plus a gas and charcoal grill for your preference. Great shade tree. If you have room, consider bringing some firewood for the fire pit. If you are sensitive to light in the morning, maybe bring an eye cover. The curtains are not very light blocking. There were only 3 chairs and no table on the deck. If you are a larger group, maybe bring folding chairs.

Thank you for the detailed and very kind review! I had no idea about the knives, since I've never used them. I'll be buying some better knives!!
Thanks
Lisa
The boathouse was a great place to spend the weekend for a golf trip. Nice and close to nearby courses along with plenty of restaurants in the area. The house is beautiful and is exactly as described. Lisa was so nice and helpful and was super flexible in allowing us to check in early. Sadly didn’t have time to utilize all the outdoor amenities, but would love to come back!
The Boathouse is a perfect spot for a Green Lake vacation. Views are spectacular and the house is newly renovated and comfortable for all. A fantastic vacation

About the host
Hosted by Lisa Diedrich
This property is owned by two families who love Green Lake. It is a true gem and without question among the best rental properties on Green Lake in terms of location, amenities and all the comforts of home. This is available year-round so take advantage of every wonderful season in Wisconsin.
Why they chose this property
Green Lake is the deepest inland lake in Wisconsin. It spans 7 miles and maintains the same clean waters as 100 years ago. We all have so enjoyed the sandy shallows of Norwegian Bay, the oak and maple trees lining Green Lake's shores, and fun nights around the fire pit. While we feel like we are away from it all, we're just a quick walk to the ice cream parlor, Sassafrass coffee shop, quaint downtown Green Lake, Thrasher Opera House, Crossroads Supermarket and Tuscumbia/Lawsonia and Mascoutin Golf Courses. The area boasts amazing bike routes around the lake; unbelievable fishing and ice fishing; the ability to rent boats, jet skis and paddle boards; great swimming and just general all-around fun! There's no better place in the world during the summer and fall! When winter rolls in, the Boathouse serves as a haven for ice fishing. Lots of fish caught right in front.
What makes this property unique
Fully remodeled!! This house is right on the lake! The deck balcony literally hangs over the water as the house was once a functioning boathouse. Guests enjoy their own boat lift, stone patio, picnic areas, outdoor seating, fire pit, balcony, central air, gas fireplace, all new stainless appliances, newly remodeled bathrooms, Weber gas grill. From inside, guests enjoy incredible lake sunsets and views, as well as all the comforts of home. The house also features two large living areas, sleeps 11 comfortably and is perfect for family gatherings.
