A great Christmas get away

  • 4 of 5

We had a great time in the Funky little shack. Enjoyed the outdoor seating and relaxing area and the access to the water and dock for fishing. The hammock was a real treat. We were visiting our grandkids who live nearby and this gave us a quiet retreat from the hubbub of 4 teens. They also enjoyed coming out for an afternoon to visit with us and fish. Lots of fun. Would come back!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time here. Some plumbing issues came up and were reported and dealt with by Jennifer, the property manager. We are very happy with her and her skills as a property manager in dealing with our requests.

Way better than the La Quinta!!!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for a few days in June while visiting my mother in law, instead of the La Quinta in West Palm Beach, which is right outside her place. She kept asking why we would want to drive a half hour instead of just a few minutes to get to our hotel. Well, Ma, because it is so much more delightfully relaxing to sit in a lounge chair under a mango tree and sip a glass of wine as the sun sets and watch the lighthouse send its beams through the night sky, than to watch TV sitting on the bed of a bland hotel room by the highway. It is also much nicer to wake up and drive less than 5 minutes to the ocean and take a morning swim before breakfast and then go back and cook a good breakfast in a nice kitchen with a good supply of tools and utensils, than to eat the pre-packaged junk at the La Quinta. There is a bar right down the block where you can sit right by the river under palm trees and watch the boats go by and listen to live music. There are restaurants within walking distance. You can stroll to the little beach on the property and dunk your toes in the water and swim if you want to.

The bed was comfortable, and the house was clean and nicely decorated. We so thoroughly enjoyed our stay even though we were only there for a few days and only in the early mornings and the evenings. If only the mangoes had been ripe, alas! There is a lot to do in the area--Jupiter beach is beautiful of course, and there is a state park close by to hike or go rent a canoe and see some wildlife, or you can rent a kayak right out the back door. This would be a wonderful place to have a longer stay and a real vacation.

Cozy Little Cottage Overlooking Jupiter Inlet

  • 4 of 5

Great little place to relax in Jupiter, close to all the fun bars and great restaurants. Able to walk to Square Grouper, Guanabanas, Crab House, Jettys U - Tiki & more. Rent a paddleboard at the end of the property, or relax in a hammock, we rented both houses, and had the entire area to ourselves for a wedding weekend, it was great.

Review of our stay in Jupiter, Florida

  • 3 of 5

Although we enjoyed our stay, a few things should be done to improve one's stay. Because a number of restaurants/bars are in the near vacinity, both car & personal traffic are constant and flow late into the evening on the weekends. First, a few signs need to be placed on the property for "No Parking". Secondly, signs need to be placed to seriously cut down personal traffic on the grounds, front and back, and around the house. It's very disturbing to have people "peek" in the Windows and door late at night. Finally, place a shade over the door.

We will most likely use VRBO again.
