About Bill Riggs

My wife and I and five girls really have enjoyed this home as it was a place that I grew up on and our girls have had the same opportunity to do so as well. They are outdoor enthusiasts and love spending time there. We currently live in Lindon Utah and try to get down to there as often as occasion will permit. We decided that since we can't be down there more often that we would open this home for others to enjoy and hope that your experience is one that you will never forget.

Bill Riggs purchased this house in 2008

Why Bill Riggs chose Utah

This is a family home that my father built but unfortunately lost his battle to cancer before he was able to really enjoy it. Our family grew up on the land that this home sits on where formally there was an old deer hunters cabin that we built once stood. There have been many fond memories growing up here and we really enjoy how relaxing it is to come and stay and at the same time there are plenty of things to do. There is Hunting, fishing, ATV riding, hiking and seeing the sights such as Bryce Canyon and Zion National Parks.

What makes this house unique

There is the national parks to visit, ATV trails to ride fishing down at the river and all kinds of wildlife to enjoy such as deer, elk and turkeys. It is away from the hustle and very peaceful and relaxing. The views are amazing including the pink cliffs to the east.

Was ok, could of been better though

  • 2 of 5

It was an ok stay, could of been better had there been internet, there were hardly any paper towels to use, and toilet papers were just one roll in each bathroom, couldn't find any extra, we have to provide our own so far from store, can even find a cutting board, we had to use alternative. I don't like the fact that I paid fir cleaning service but I must required to pull all sheets from bed and put in laundry room this should be the cleaning out when you pull drawers to get utensils, knives were all mixed together can cut yourself, this needs to be better organized..thank you!!

Owner's Response: I find it interesting that for the last 4 years of renting our home out and almost every review we received has been positive every once in a while you get a bad one. If the customer would have read the services available before they rented, they would have seen that we do not offer wifi as a result of our rural location. However, a hot spot on the cell phone works great out there which I explained to them when they asked about wifi. It really isn't to much to ask that you put the used linens into the laundry room and this is the first time I have had a complaint. Maybe this group should have rented a hotel. What you don't get at a hotel that you get here is the piece and quite, the views and the beautiful nights with the amazing stars. As far as the other concerns we have always had a cutting board. It turned up missing and we replaced it. We always provide plenty of toilet paper and a roll of paper towels. We have a drawer with knives for guests use and have yet have anyone get cut as this guest indicated. Please be sure and look at other reviews and you can quickly see this guest was being a bit nit picky.

Beautiful views!! Large property!

  • 5 of 5

This property was large and cozy. The dirt road was a bit rough but not a big deal. Owner was very good at answering phone calls. Close to both national parks. If nature and outdoors is your thing then this is the place but if you want to stay indoors and watch tv and internet then look somewhere else.

Beautiful Location

  • 5 of 5

Thank you for the video Mr. Riggs! We had no problems getting to your retreat, it is a very nice place and we enjoyed every minute we were there. We drove to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon and visited Bryce Canyon during our short stay. With so many National Parks in Utah we are hoping to get back there soon! What a beautiful state Utah is!

Great house - kind of away from it all with absolutely unique and wonderful views

  • 5 of 5

The house is great. Our group of 6 adults and 3 kids had plenty of space and really enjoyed the coziness of the this house. The views are outstanding!! The house has everything a family or a group of friends might need and has a a very unique feel. Getting to it was a bit cumbersome but we absolutely loved it !!

Few things to remember : watch the video from the owner on how to get to the house- it is nearly impossible to find it without it.

Stock up on groceries in Panguitch. We used Joe’s Main Street. Since there is nothing closer to the house.

Most of all enjoy - the views are outstanding both during the day and at night - the sky full of stars is amazing!

Quiet, Away from it all.

  • 5 of 5

Loved our stay there. Quiet location. The house is easy to find if you watch the video supplied to you when you reserve this place. The house has all you need. Kids loved to explore the area and look for animals. We saw deer and squirrels. Heard turkeys but couldn't find them. The only thing this place needs is a horseshoe pit in the back.

Tip- Buy food from a bigger town before you enter Hatch. The towns nearby don't have much. The house has a microwave, toaster, BBQ, full fridge.Even a washer dryer if needed.
