National and State Forests to the East provide a thriving habitat for Bald Eagles, Sand Hill Cranes, and Deer which wander past your window as you take in the spectacular view of the lake. Settle in for the evening by a cozy fire and listen to the the gentle sounds of Lake Michigan lapping at the shore, but don't fall asleep until you've taken in the stars through the six sky lights above.
Within an hours drive, you can visit lighthouses, waterfalls, and historic forts. Sault St Marie (Soo Locks), Mackinaw City (shopping, theaters, fort, and new water park), St. Ignace (gambling, shopping, and museums),Mackinac Island, Lake Superior (Whitefish Point Lighthouse, Tahquamenon Falls, one hour North) are highlights that will make your trip memorable. One of the best kept secrets is the Cut River located just minutes from our property. This natural gorge provides a wonderful hike as well as picturesque view of the lake.

There are miles of trails to explore by foot, horseback snowmobile, or four-wheel ATV. If fishing interests you, fly-fish some of the finest steelhead and brook trout streams anywhere (we support 'catch-and-release'... or 'clean-on-the-river'...).
Just four miles to the east are two restaurants and to the west enjoy the small fishing village of Naubinway where fresh Whitefish is caught/sold daily. We stayed for a long weekend to get some snowmobiling in this past weekend. The four of us arrived late Thursday and left early Monday morning. During our stay we spent a fair amount of the time on the trails but the time spent in the loft was comfortable and relaxing. Dianne was kind and welcoming enough to bake us fresh cookies to share upon our arrival. We ran into her a couple of times while leaving in the morning and she always had a smile, kind words and was willing to offer anything we may need :)
The loft was well stocked with linens, towels, kitchen needs etc. We did not come across anything that wasn't supplied.
We look forward to visiting again but perhaps next time during the summer to get a chance to enjoy the lake.
Cute and comfortable loft.
My wife and I spent 6 days here. It's a great central location to many things in the UP. We went from pictured rocks to mackinac island. Diane did a great job making our stay comfortable from helping us find the driveway in the dark to building us a fire in the fireplace to take off the chill. The loft had everything we needed. We spent a few great evenings on the shore building a fire and watching the sunset. Would definitely consider staying here again.
Cedar Loft, on Lake Michigan, is all that it advertises to be. Attractive furnishing, extremely well-equipped, with large front windows and skylights to let in the sun and sound of the waves. Private beach...with fire pit, picnic table and chairs. Owner is welcoming and knows all about U.P. places to go. We were able to kayak one calm morning and had a fresh-off-the-dock whitefish dinner at Bayview Inn in Epoufette.
Absolutely the perfect place to relax and unwind.
It is exactly as pictures show, so beautiful and cozy... it truly felt like home. My husband and I were on our honeymoon, we were fortunate enough to stay here for our last days in the UP. Dianne instantly felt like an old friend, and always checking to make sure we had everything we needed. It was centrally located, and we were able to see many wonderful places. The beach was tranquil, private, and peaceful. It was nice to be lulled to sleep by the sounds of the water. Definitely a place you don't want to miss! Totally worth it!
Great secluded getaway for a summer trip
Great place to get away from the daily grind. Very peaceful and secluded. My wife and two children loved the beach. In fact the entire beach front was ours. All day trips were only an hour to two hours away. I would definitely recommend this cabin for a getaway. The owners were extremely helpful and the cabin was in great condition.
Quiet getaway on the beach
We are so lucky to have stumbled upon Dianne and Glenn's loft, and even luckier that they had a last minute opening. The loft had everything we could possibly need, and was so clean and comfortable, and Dianne was wonderful. It was great to have her recommendations on local places to eat and visit. Hands down the best part of the location was the beach literally steps away. We enjoyed exploring the beach, swimming, and relaxing in the sand. At night, we could fall asleep to the sounds of the waves. We highly recommend Cedar Loft and can't wait to come back.
