The Little Luxe Hideaway - Slow Living Escape
The Little Luxe Hideaway — Slow Living Escape, Port Willunga This gorgeous eco retreat is the perfect escape for couples, families, and friends wanting to experience the best of the Fleurieu Peninsula. Just a short walk to the famous Port Willunga Beach and dramatic coastal cliffs, you’ll be surrounded by great coffee, world-renowned food, and only minutes from the McLaren Vale wine region. Recently renovated, the cottage features two queen bedrooms with crisp cotton linens, comfy mattresses, and built-ins for a restful night’s sleep after a day at the beach, walking the Willunga Basin Trail, or exploring vineyards. A classic white weatherboard — think Nantucket style — this eco-gem runs on solar power with rainwater tanks, filtered drinking water, and an organic food forest where you’re welcome to pick seasonal fruit and vegetables. Inside, cosy living spaces include an open-plan kitchen, dining, and lounge with leather sofas, a wood heater for winter nights, and a reading nook. Gather around the dining table for fresh local produce, board games, or long chats. For chilled evenings, enjoy Netflix and high-speed Wi-Fi. French doors open onto a large pergola overlooking the lush garden. Wander through veggie patches, lawns, and flower-lined paths alive with birdlife. The outdoor dining area is perfect for long lunches, while the fire pit (May–September) is made for red wine, storytelling, and marshmallows under the stars. After lazy summer swims, rinse off in the outdoor shower scented with flowering frangipanis. Practical touches include a Miele front-loader, old-fashioned Hills Hoist, and all linens provided — even beach towels. Throughout the cottage, you’ll find vintage pieces, antique art, and handmade details that make the space truly unique. Every corner has been styled with love and comfort in mind. The Little Luxe Hideaway — eco, stylish, and welcoming. We can’t wait to host you.
