About the property

Welcome to The Dream Condo at 353 Amapas which is Puerto Vallarta's newest, oceanview studio. This contemporary, fourth floor studio is in a brand-new condominium that has a spectacular ocean view of Banderas Bay—second largest in the world. You can even hear the waves breaking from it! A video of the studio and the building can be viewed on YouTube by searching the key phrase “thedreamcondo”.

It is ideally located in one of the most desirable and safest neighborhoods on the south side of Puerto Vallarta which is known as “Old Town” in the “Romantic Zone.” Getting around Puerto Vallarta is very easy. You can walk everywhere you may want to go except for a supermarket like Walmart or a cinema. There is also a taxi stand within a couple minute walk from the building. Access to public transportation is about a 10-minute walk. Both modes of transportation are inexpensive.

The condominium is just a 5 minute walk from the world-famous Los Muertos Beach and behind the well-known Blue Chairs resort. It is very convenient to local restaurants, bars and boutiques.

The studio is filled with high-end finishes such as custom-made parota furniture and indirect lighting. There is a very large balcony with a complete set of rattan furniture—perfect for dining and entertaining. The windows running the full length of the balcony are equipped with blackout roller shades.

There is a smart 3D TV which can be connected to the Internet for video streaming Netflix, an all-region Blue Ray DVD, Wii, and Sonos wireless sound system that is controlled by a cell phone, pad or laptop. All of the above are housed in a dresser that also serves as a room divider. It also contains a leaf that pulls out which can be used as a work space and/or a dining table.

The beautiful kitchen has a granite countertop, a double stainless sink, and all the small appliances are Cuisinart.

Both the toilet and shower are in separate glass enclosures and the bathroom entrance has a folding door for privacy. The shower has a marble bench as well as a marble surround and the cabinet around the sink has a marble surface. All fixtures in the kitchen and bathroom are Moen.

This condo has an ensuite digital combination safe that can accommodate up to a 13" laptop and other valuables as well as a peep hole in the entrance door. The studio is equipped with a hard-wired smoke/fire alarm, carbon monoxide/natural gas detector and a fire extinguisher. There is also bottled water for guests to drink and cook with.

The condominium complex has a fitness center, infinity pool, Jacuzzi, a professional stainless steel BBQ, satellite TV and Wi-Fi on the roof garden with an excellent view of the surroundings.

One cleaning per week is included in the rental rates. The king size bed has 600-thread count Egyptian cotton sheets for extra comfort. There are also beach towels.

This complex is very safe and is equipped with an entry intercom as well as security cameras at both the Amapas and Highway 200 entrances. The side of the condo balcony that abuts another one is protected by a privacy/security barrier. There is also an Administrator as well as a maintenance person on site.

This vacation property has a no smoking (except on the roof), no pets and no children policy.

Renters are subject to condominium rules.

This is the dream condo!

This studio is located in a new secure building in the Los Muertos Beach area. It is nicely appointed, with large panel glass sliding doors and a large outdoor deck. There is a view of the bay and the area is quite. Reaching the beach is down one flight of public steps and groceries, restaurants, shopping and entertainment are just blocks away in old town Puerto Vallarta. We will happily return for a future stay.

Great Condo!

My husband and I stayed here for two weeks. We were already familiar with the area as we have stayed and have always said we were going to try this building. Firstly George was always quick to respond during the booking procedure and to answer any questions we had.

His unit is very nice and was perfect for our stay. It is a large studio, we normally book on bedrooms and never did we regret our decision. I loved everything about the unit. The kitchen as well stocked and I can not say enough about how comfortable that bed is! The roof top pool is amazing! We met many people staying in the building and even made some new lasting friends. The only few issues we had was that we had arranged to be picked up by Aaron and there was a bit of confusion with this as he was not there but someone else came instead and I was not aware this was happening. Plus she was late due to traffic. Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things but it did add some confusion to the beginning of the trip.

We had a few requests during our stay like we had no drinking water on arrival and a few other supply related concerns but Aaron dealt with them promptly!

We visit PV at least two times a year and we will stay in this unit again!

Perfecto!!

My boyfriend and I stayed for 6 days in this great condo! The whole building is great! Very clean and up to date! The view of the ocean was great from the room. Enjoyed eating breakfast on the patio every morning listening to the ocean! The kitchen has every thing you need to cook! There's a little market a few blocks away where we bought everything we needed! There's a lot of water provided so you don't have to buy any! Bed was comfy with great feeling sheets! Plenty of linens and large beach towels! We didn't feel like it was too far as we walked everywhere! The bus will pick you up in front of the condo. Yasmin greeted us and was great! I got an ear infection while I was there and she even called a doctor for me to make sure I got the right medicine! The infinity pool is amazing! Can't say enough about how nice it was watching the sunset every day from the pool! Everyone we met in the unit was very friendly! We will be back soon as possible and will choose this condo again!

Owner's Response: I began renting my studio soon after the condominium was completed in 2013. There have been no more than a handful of guests that were truly exceptional such as Kasee and her boyfriend. They really deserve the highest rating possible. Kasee booked her reservation 3 months in advance of her arrival. She arranged the trip to celebrate her boyfriend’s birthday. My studio is ideal for such special occasions and Kasee took full advantage of the concierge services available. Kasee checked with me on a number of things in advance of her trip. My property manager and I both noticed on how appreciative Kasee was for any assistance we provided her. It makes a difference when a guest like Kasee is so pleasant.

Absolutely Loved It!

It was a great experience from the very beginning. The owner was great to work with. He was very helpful and personable. The location is excellent. Just blocks away from restaurants and the beach is just down the hill. Within walking distance of everything. The condo is beautiful and the infinity pool was to die for. We will be going back for sure!

Great place for couples

We stayed for 10 nights in this beautiful studio.

Modern kitchen/bathroom, the bed was very comfortable. Lots of space for a couple.

The view from the balcony is amazing, we spent hours drinking morning coffee and enjoying the view and quiet.

The location is perfect we walked to everything including conchas chinas to the south.

We loved the roof top area............can't say enough. Great for entertaining as we did a few times. The barbq is like new and we used it several times.

The pool is great for laps and the view is amazing.

Would highly recommend this place for couples of all ages.

Not the Best Place in PV

We stayed for two weeks (as we did last October), but we much preferred our previous stay at a Condo much closer to the all the activities in the Romantic Zone. We found this unit to be rather dingy and in a poorly taken care of building that's a huge hike up the hill from all the restaurants and businesses in the area.

We had to reach out for help on several occasions - the Pool was shut down for 3-4 days and even when back up - was still very much under construction with plastic tarp stretched out all over the top deck. Our laundry door was broken upon arrival. The quality of the bedding was poor - and the sheets faded once washed. The phones in the unit didn't work. All the hallways in the building were dark (sensor lights didn't work) and the elevator was out one full day during our stay. Most annoyingly - the refrigerator (as confirmed by the buildings maintenance supervisor) - needs a new compressor as it runs (with a loud pitched annoying hum) all day and all night, making sleep virtually impossible. The view is not as advertised - as you basically look directly at the top of the building that sits between this building and the ocean. If you go to the pool to get a better view, you'll have little to no luck finding a place to sit as furniture (chaise lounges and umbrellas are in short supply). Overall, not a great experience vs our stay last year in PV (again, at a much nicer building with substantially better amenities). We would suggest skipping this rental and finding a larger place, in a better building - both easily obtainable in many close - in locations. We won't be back - and though we've had good luck with VRBO rentals in the past, this time, we simply picked the wrong place to stay.

Owner's Response: Randy’s and Ruby’s review is not justified in my opinion. They stayed last fall in a one-bedroom condominium which is located just 2 blocks away from my studio and on a busy corner with a lot of traffic and a limited view of the ocean. The amenities in this condominium are not “substantially better.” For instance, my fitness center is twice as large. One of the benefits that my studio affords is its closeness to the beach and another is that it is quiet at night. The view from my studio is of the ocean, not the beach, is both as “advertised” and unrestricted. Randy and Ruby found my studio and the condominium to be “rather dingy and in a poorly taken care of building.” I think that the pictures of my studio and those of the building speak for themselves. Randy and Ruby indicated “all the hallways in the building were dark.” The sensor to turn on the light outside my entrance did fail, but it was replaced immediately. There are other ones. There was no evidence that either a folding door or the phones in my studio were “broken”. Supposedly, the refrigerator hummed which made “sleeping impossible.” Yet, Randy and Ruby slept for 2 weeks in my studio without complaining about it. I have rarely found a time when either a chaise lounge or an umbrella at the pool were not available. Thus, I do not believe that guests “have little or no luck finding a place to sit.” According to Randy and Ruby, my “sheets faded once washed.” They actually ruined a set of my guest sheets by spraying something on parts of them that bleached the color out of these areas. To matters worse, Randy and Ruby denied doing it. In any event, they were not charged for a new set of sheets. Randy and Ruby thought that “the quality of the bedding was poor.” My guest sheets are made of 100% Egyptian cotton with 600 threads which I equate with high quality. Randy and Ruby “had to reach out for help on several occasions.” In particular, the pool was closed for a weekend to repair an emergency leak. Randy and Ruby, however, were offered a free membership at one of 2 nearby beach clubs so that they could use another pool during this shutdown. The elevator was out of service too for a couple of hours, but not for “one full day”. Randy and Ruby also took advantage of some of my concierge services without complaint, namely, pick up and drop off at the airport and a special excursion to Sayulita. In spite of the foregoing, I regret that Randy and Ruby did not have a "great experience."
