About Mike Quinn

This property is owned by Mike and Jean Quinn who reside in Tulsa, Ok.

Mike Quinn purchased this villa in 2011

Why Mike Quinn chose St. Kitts (St. Christopher)

This property has it all. It is a private residence set in the Half Moon Bay area and located adjacent to the Royal St. Kitts Golf Course. The veranda with private plunge pool enjoys a sweeping 180 degree view of the southern mountains and ocean and lush tropical gardens of the villa. The garden itself abounds with a selection of totally organic produce for your enjoyment, as well as unique floral specimens. Leeward breezes, a temperate climate and absolute privacy make the villa a perfect retreat. The island itself is home to beautiful pristine beaches and a wonderful variety of activities. The people of St. Kitts are warm and friendly and are glad to share their knowledge of the island and its' treasures. Other 'natives', the little vervet monkeys, are fun to watch. And the local seafood is incredible, while being quite reasonably priced. The dress code is casual everywhere. There are superb restaurants featuring local fare. Bassetterre, the capital city, and Port Zante offer shoppers a variety of unique goods. Of great interest is the history of the island, with its' roots in the sugar industry. The island is dotted with ruins of old plantations, some of which are home to restaurants and hotels now. Others, left to ruin, are fun to explore. The 'mother' of the island, the volcano, can be hiked through the rain forest and has breath-taking views down to the crater. While the beaches are all public, it is not hard to find one where you can be alone to enjoy the sun and white sand and watch the tropical fish. The water is clear and warm and boasts many varieties of coral and sea life. There are several wrecks to explore with scuba diving. And you can always find a charter or take the ferry to Nevis, St. Kitts sister island. The St. Kitts Royal Golf Club is one-of-kind in that it plays on both the Atlantic and Caribbean sides of the island. It is a stunning, well-groomed course with great amenities.

Best place we've stayed on the island in 4 trips

  • 5 of 5

The villa was spacious and well maintained. Nice pool and deck, great for relaxing. The location was good for going to the beach, going to the port or sightseeing. We walked to the beach and many of the restaurants we frequented.

Family of Four loved this villa

  • 5 of 5

Before we even got to Saint Kitts, Jean was amazing! We exchanged many emails on things to do and tips/tricks of Saint Kitts and Nevis. That was very helpful because I printed those sheets off and used them while we were there. The home is amazing, it's got a great view of the golf course and Atlantic Ocean, just beyond course. We loved being able to run the golf cart path on the course in the morning, it was much safer than running in the streets. The villa was well stocked with kitchen items, liquors, and other grocery items. The private pool is great, the kids (8& 10) loved having a private pool. The hammock is nice for relaxation and the villa got plenty of fresh air from the winds off the ocean!! Maybe it was the time of the year, but we could see the sunrise directly from our master bed. They had this cutout (which could be closed if you desire) which allowed you to look directly at the ocean in the distance. When the sun came up, you could see it rising right from bed, which was super cool!

We had a great time in Saint Kitts and Nevis, and especially loved this villa and the area it is in. We were super close to grocery stores, smoothie stands (definitely stop at the one on the side of the road when you are headed towards the Marriott, it is amazing!), beaches, etc. The day we left, it was super close to SKB airport so it was super convenient returning the car to the parking lot, walking into terminal and getting checked in. It was sad leaving but the convenience made it much easier. Thanks for the great stay!!

Quiet hideaway in St. Kitts

  • 5 of 5

This Half-Moon Bay Villa has a bit of a 1980s feel to it, which was fine by us as we grew up in the 80s, and it felt espeically homey... this is one of the best equipped and best stocked places we've ever occupied! no matter how much stuff you pack for your trip, there's always that one thing that you might have forgotten (lemon garlic pepper, for example, or cotton balls)--well, it's probably available here! we used quite a few things, and left some stuff behind on our way out, a great way to travel! Thank you so much for the start-up groceries left in the fridge, it was more than welcome as we arrived after dark and would have had to go out for breakfast otherwise. No need for air conditioning, there's a lovely breeze all the time, easy to control with the window shutters. The pool is exposed a good part of the day to the sun... the TV offered lots of channels, all of the appliances worked well, but the Internet connection was lousy...

Million dollar view

  • 5 of 5

The villa was clean, well equipped, and had a million dollar view. It was beautifully furnished and the owner kindly left a welcome package in the fridge of grocery staples. The constant breeze was refreshing and we never had to turn on the AC.

I thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful artwork painted by the owner. My 16 year old daughter enjoyed the hammock where she spent a great deal of time.

There were beach chairs, beach towels, thick cotton bath towels, and the sheets smelled so fresh! We were somewhat disappointed that the little room adjacent to the master bedroom no longer had a bed and she had to use the pull out couch.

The one problem for us was that a neighbor in the villa directly behind the master bedroom had a large dog that constantly barked--one morning it barked for an hour. The owner was responsive to my email and had the property management speak to the dog owner. This definitely helped. I did wear ear plugs for the remainder of our stay.

We had a fantastic time here and would definitely stay here again. It's a beautiful property in a great location!

The villa has all of the amenities that we needed. We spent much of our time by the pool which has amazing views of the golf course and the ocean. This was our second time staying here and we will be back. It is beautiful and relaxing!

The villa is located at the edge of the Royal St. Kitts Golf Club. It features a 180 degree view of the southern portion of the island from the lush gardens and private pool. Must see activities beside golf include beaches, fine dining, shopping, sailing, mountain climbing, Eco tours, zip lining, rain forests, volcano tour, riding the old 'sugar train', biking, hiking, horseback riding, and visits to numerous historic sites. Be sure to check out the beach restaurants to sample the local lobster and conch dishes and watch the native vervet monkeys. Shells abound on the white sand beaches where the water is warm and clear. Although all beaches are public, you can easily find one that can be your 'private beach'. A drive around the island gives insight into the history of the island with magnificent views of both the Atlantic coast and the Caribbean coast. Dress is casual, no matter where you go. Try the local rums, beers and selection of fine wines available anywhere. A ferry is available for visits to Nevis, St. Kitts' sister island. Boat charters and fishing expeditions abound. Fresh fish, seafood and an array of local produce can be found at the farmer's market downtown. The villa also has an abundance of organic fruit and vegetables in the gardens which is available for your enjoyment - bananas, papayas, spinach, pineapples, passion fruits, plantains, corn, sweet potatoes and various fresh herbs, to name a few. Lounge by the private pool while you enjoy the windward breezes and view. Or enjoy the oversized jacuzzi after an afternoon on the course or at the beach. Privacy is the key feature. The villa is the utmost retreat.
