We are two professionals having lived and worked for major companies in Europe and the Middle East and spent the times that we could holidaying abroad.
Saint Lucia became the place that we enjoyed the most for example Jazz in May, Carnival in June, Christmas and New Year plus all the in-between moments that time off from work would allow.
We are now fortunate to call it home.
Hector Joseph purchased this villa in 2012
This property provided for us the perfect home. It's panoramic view showcasing Pigeon Island, the richness of nature that at night transformed itself into a sea of lights took our breath away. To top it all the silhouetted figure of Martinique in the distance is visible....stunning!
What more could we ask for...this is home to us and we wanted to share that piece of paradise.
We love meeting new people and have created a home from home environment where our guests can enjoy their surroundings in comfort and private.
We are here to make your holiday an unforgettable, stress free experience. Start by allowing us to arrange your transfer from the airport, arrange your car rental, organise your tours, guide you to the best restaurants and places to visit. We have amazing deals on car rentals and work with the tour operators to get you amazing deals.
To us the unique benefits is it's beauty, we are romantics at heart and as a couple this would be the perfect place to 'tie the knot'. The picturesque surroundings gives rise to the most wonderful heartfelt peace that one could ever imagine, the perfect backdrop for that photo or bit of memory you could never forget. We always marvel at how it never ceases to amaze us and even though it's part of us now, it's still makes me think 'wow' every day. The deck and pool area is beautifully arranged to chill out, read, sun batch or simple take in the views.
The villa needs a bit of tlc, cupboard handles were loose, the main entrance door handle fell off on the first day, some lights came on, some did not and there was little to no hot water.
The outside space is nice, sunbeds were good quality.
The pool was nice and cool although we had to request it was cleaned during our stsy.
Overall a reasonable week but our peace and quiet was disturbed by work men sanding or moving scaffolding or by the guard dog that barked at any visitors.
RB suites is perfectly located for relaxation, fun and sightseeing. Hector and Gale are the perfect host and hostess who are unobtrusive but always willing to help with all of our needs. The suite is stylishly decorated and extremely comfortable. Their outdoor setting is perfect with shade and a wonderful pool. We will be returning in the near future.
The rental was as described and more. On our arrival Hector met us and showed us through the apartment. The only problem was we couldn't stop looking at the view we would have for the next 10 days. The apartment was very comfortable with everything we needed for our stay. It was cleaned 3 times a week as well as the pool area. Hector was very helpful with everything, even when the kettle broke, he had us a new one in no time. Car rental was sorted out with Hector, which gave us the oppotunity to explore the Island a little.
The Naked Fisherman (resteraunt) is a must, great setting and good food - be warned though, 92 steps down to it, and yes 92 steps on the return.
Soufriere was a nice day out - did the volcano, hot springs and finished with a boat taxi round to Sugar Beach.
The rain forest tour was interesting with some breath taking views from up in the trees.
Had a great time in St Lucia and would love to visit the Island again and carry on exploring. We would definitely return to Rodney Bay Suites.
Chris and Tracy.
PS. The coconut rum is yummy!!
We are just back home after a fabulous months stay at Rodney Bay Suites; lovely accommodation, lovely pool, fantastic place to stay. This is the first time we have taken such a long vacation and were wondering whether we should have split the holiday into two different locations but glad we didn't as our stay just flew by and we really got into the Caribbean relaxed way of life. Normally we eat out on holiday but being there for a month we decided to cook most evenings; it was lovely to be able to bbq and sit outside to eat in January:-). We were also very lucky to have some wonderful neighbours in the apartment next to us who made us some amazing evening meals. If you like fish and are doing your own cooking the fresh caught tuna is a great deal. We also had a great evening, thanks to Gale, at the Gros Islet Jump Up fish market. The local fish was good but we went for the lobster which was HUGE. Our must see places, in no particular order, were Pigeon Island, Marigot Bay and Souffriere. The local veg/spice/craft market in Castries was also interesting. We found hiring the jeep from Hector, for part of the holiday, was a good option and once you got your bearings was great fun. There are very few road signs in St Lucia but the locals are happy to point you in the right direction if you're not sure. We're used to driving on the 'right side of the road' coming from the UK. Other road users are fine but the roads are a little more hairy than the ones we are used to as some parts can be quite twisting and turning but that is part of the beauty of the Island. The apartments, as the name suggests, are on a hill over looking Rodney Bay (great view of the bay and marina), I personally enjoyed doing the walk down to the supermarket in the morning while my husband cooked breakfast for me:-). Again just loved being able to eat outside and in the morning sunshine you have the wonderful views. The space at the apartments is great as you have the choice of socializing with your neighbours but equally you can have your own space. One last place to mention is Spinnakers; we did enjoy happy hour cocktails there on several occasions. Everyone was so lovely and friendly and we had a wonderful time. Thank you Gale, Hector, Jane and Gemma:-)
My husband and I traveled to St. Lucia for a wedding. We decided to stay on longer after the event since it was the middle of January and we live in Minnesota. The weather was a beautiful change of pace for our 2 weeks in St. Lucia. Gale & Hector's property is lovely. It is relaxing, clean, well maintained, and very comfortable. It was exactly as described in the listing, and exactly what we were looking for. The location was ideal for us. A pleasant walk to Rodney Bay, the marina, and Gros Islet (the majority of where we were spending our time during our stay - if not just lounging around by the pool on the property). Everyone we met associated with the property (Gemma, Jane, Kenrick) were very friendly and helpful. We were very content to lounge by the pool, shop for and cook with the local foods (and share some meals with our lovely neighbors in the apartment next door), and stay pretty close to our home base - relaxation is what we were after on this vacation. Although there are options for different excursions, and Gale & Hector are more than willing to help you plan for them, we only did one full day trip (thanks to Kenrick who was our driver for the day) - to Soufriere. We climbed Gros Piton (a 4-hr hike that was quite challenging), then went to the volcano for a brief tour and a dip in the mud baths there (highly recommended - especially to soothe achey muscles after the challenging hike), had a nice lunch, and then took a quick spin through the Botanical Gardens which were lovely - we would've liked to spend more time there but we got there near closing time. We got along just fine without a vehicle of our own. Gale & Hector will help you arrange for a vehicle if you want/need one. Since our goal was to cook for ourselves while we were away - one the reasons we looked for a property like this - we did not eat at a lot of restaurants. Of the ones we visited we would highly recommend Spice of India near Rodney Bay in the Baywalk mall - absolutely fabulous Indian food (the owner also has a restaurant on Marigot Bay as well). We would also highly recommend Rituals Sushi in the marina - wonderful sushi. Big Chef Steakhouse near Rodney Bay also had a nice selection of steak and seafood options. We were very pleased with our accommodations at Rodney Bay Suites. We would definitely recommend it to others, and we would definitely stay here again if we were to go back. Thanks Gale & Hector - we enjoyed ourselves immensely!
Our absolute favorite part of the stay at Rodney Bay Suites was the view. It was truly an amazing view especially at night. One comment I will make regarding the apartment is just a reminder to others that like many houses on the island the water is solar heated so not always a hot shower in the morning and even cooler water if it has been a cloudy/rainy day. I will say as far as the location is concerned for the amount of travel we did on the island we discussed whether a location further south would have been better. But after further discussion we decided the view and accommodations were well worth the drive. The housekeeping service was very nice as well. Hector and Gale were a very nice and helpful couple. We tried to fit as many activities in as possible and would recommend hiking Gros Piton, kayaking around the Pitons, snorkeling at Anse Chastanet, zip lining and trail bike riding at Treetop Adventure Park and climbing the knobs at Pigeon Island. (our ages 48 and 54) I will say driving was more stressful than I thought it would be. Very narrow, turning, twisting roads and for us driving on the wrong side of the road as well. I would rather drive and let my husband navigate but it did take some time to adjust. Overall a beautiful island, nice people, great accommodations, an awesome view and a great celebration of our 25th anniversary.
We are fortunate to be in the heart of Rodney Bay with all it has to offer but perched on the hillside overlooking it all, far away enough to be outside of the bustle in a quiet zone! Down the hill from us is the famous Rodney Bay Village, located in the northwest St Lucia. With numerous restaurants, beautiful resorts, thrilling activities and a historically notorious marina (a bay treasured by pirates in the early 1700s and 1800s), it is the area with the most tourist activity.
During the day, the gorgeous beach of Rodney Bay makes any St. Lucia experience memorable. At night, there is something to do for everybody with restaurants, cafes, shops, Bay Walk Mall, night clubs and the exciting new Treasure Bay Casino. Rodney Bay Village is the perfect location to experience the excitement and beauty of Saint Lucia.
Most of our guests take on the challenge of climbing the famous Pigeon Point... Great exercise with breathtaking views when you reach the peak..Well worth the challenge.
Rodney Bay Marina is also a short distance from RBS and is a hip hangout place with its chic cafés, sushi bar and restaurants. Lovely during the day or evening.
The Cap Estate Golf course is also a short distant from us, if you're a lover of gold. Also has a well stocked golf club.
