The host was very accommodating and communicated well from beginning to end. The home fit our family of 5 very comfortably and everyone felt like they had space. The home was clean and you could tell the host cares about creating a good experience for the customers.
I visit the NEK regularly at different times of the year and Shayne and Heather's house was great--one of the best I've visited in 10 years. Communication was great; the house was beautiful, the kitchen well-equipped, and the location convenient for four-season adventures. It's close to White's Market, the Pizza Man, the Lyndonville downtown with a couple of restaurants, and the park where there's a farm market in the summer. There's a washer and dryer available for use (we didn't need it, but it was nice to know it was there). We visited over Presidents' Day weekend with a few friends who all remarked on how great the place was. Final word: great place to stay, very comfortable and Shayne and Heather are great hosts.

Bill and his group were outstanding guests. Communicative, friendly, clean...we hope to host them again in the future!
Great stay for families visiting the Burke / Lyndonville areaWe had a great stay here last weekend with our family of five. The house was exactly what we were hoping for—clean, comfortable, and very well set up for a family trip. There was plenty of space for everyone to spread out, and the home had everything we needed to cook meals, relax, and enjoy time together. The location was perfect for exploring the area. It was an easy drive to Burke Mountain and other nearby outdoor spots, which made it a great home base for enjoying the beautiful Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. The property itself felt peaceful and private, which made it easy to unwind after a busy day. Everything was well maintained and the check-in process was smooth.Overall, we had a really enjoyable stay and would absolutely come back again. I would definitely recommend this place to other families looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay in the Lyndonville/Burke area.
Lyndon calling was very comfortable for our whole family. The hosts are very attentive. We will be back again.

About the host
Hosted by Shayne Foley
We (Shayne + Heather) are born and raised in New England. We truly love the changing of the seasons, which continues to pull us back to the area despite having traveled extensively across North America and beyond. We've chosen Vermont as a home base given the exceptional access to the outdoors, including mountain biking, hiking and skiing, which are our favorite hobbies. One really fun thing about us is that we have and will continue to take "mini-retirements" as we go through our careers, with our most recent being a year-long tour of North America where we explored many of the top mountain bike destinations out there!
Within our travels, we've stayed at countless hotels and short-term rentals, and have experienced what works and what doesn't (ex: a kitchen with 11 spoons, 1 knife and 0 forks). We've often left those experiences knowing that we could provide something better, so we've set out to do just that...create an extraordinary and functional property that would be up to our own high, yet reasonable standards.
So, here our hosting receipe: We've taken the absolute best from our own travel experiences, mixed that with an emphasis on functionality and exceptional quality, created a strong base of hospitality, added in our special family spice blend (ex: integration into the local community, attention to detail, eco-friendly cleaning products, etc.) and voila...you've got Lyndon Calling!
Why they chose this property
The neighborhood is quiet and super close to Lyndonville amenities, which we love. It is also only 5 minutes away from the Kingdom Trails (Wildflower Inn network) and 10 minutes from the action in East Burke (Burke Mountain, Kingom Trails, restaurants, etc.). With easy highway access and a large yard with our very own Pump Track, we've created an extraordinary basecamp to explore and experience the best of the area.
What makes this property unique
Lyndon Calling is our first, but not last, hosting experience that we are offering to others as a true basecamp...more than just a place to sleep at night. We believe that your place to stay should play a big part of your experience...even being an experience itself.
Blending functionality (ex: laundry, kid-friendly, stocked kitchen, etc.), aesthetics (renovated and modernized farmhouse), extrordinary amenities (ex: Pump Track, electric fireplaces, ski/bike storage, outdoor space, home office space, etc.) and exceptional hospitality, this is THE place to stay in the area.
If you're equally excited to chill-ax at Lyndon Calling as you are to experience all that the NEK has to offer, then mission accomplished. We invite you to come experience it for yourself.
